Writer's POV
The whole pack went into a chaos of murmurings, even Khloe had stopped screaming.
" Hey you shouldn't be here." Jamal said to Anubis in-between clenched teeth as he walked toward her, towering over her petite figure.
" Leave her be." Derrick finally said something after a long while of silence.
" You do know that begging forgiveness for the human is a sin right?" Derrick asked walking back into the court fully.
" I mean no disrespect alpha, but the human is innocent." Anubis said, with her head bowed.
" Innocent? She killed Amigo my brother, your husband." Derrick said getting angry.
" You are right about her murdering Amigo but she is still innocent of the crime she is about to be punished for." Anubis still insisted on Khloe's innocence.
Her statement left everyone confused; Derrick, his pack and even Khloe.
" I know you all must be giving my sanity a rethink but I assure you that indeed, I am as sane as any lycan here. Truly, the human has got Amigo's blood on her hands but his blood...his blood was already corrupted before he was killed. Whether the human killed him or not, death was still bound to be his fate. I.." Anubis had stood up to address the whole pack when Derrick cut her off angrily.
" Silence!" He thundered as his loud voice boomed in the court, the atmosphere giving it a resounding echo.
Everyone in the court went silent. Jamal didn't even flinch, he was already used to every personality of the alpha unlike Khloe who managed to not pee herself.
Derrick was confused.
' Is she implying that Amigo was a rogue?' Derrick thought.
" I know that you might find it difficult to believe but Amigo, my mate died a rogue. He would always return home angry everyday which I thought was normal. He was the pack's beta, he got to handle different cases everyday which could get him mad. I continued overlooking his newly found attitude until one week ago when the preparations for the coronation ceremony was supposed to begin. He was angry as usual but instead of avoiding him like I normally did, I decided to talk to him. In fact, I tried to seduce him but instead, he gave me a very painful bite on the neck. He immediately apologized before leaving the house hurriedly. The bite became really itchy so, I invited the pack's Shaman. While treating me, he suspected an infection from a rogue but I insisted that he was wrong. So, he gave me a concoction to use which was supposed to give signs. Unfortunately, it gave me a sign which the Shaman had earlier explained to be a sign of a rogue infection. I was ashamed and embarrassed to let the truth out until I learnt that a human was to be prosecuted for his death. I know I have sinned against you alpha and the entire pack but please punish me instead and let the human go." Anubis explained, with tears accompanying her explanation.
This time, her revelation left the Court room as quiet as a cemetery.
Derrick's mouth was left agape. He could feel Kodiac's silence too. The pain caused by Anubis revelation left him in a state of shock and disappointment.
Khloe on the other hand couldn't be happier at the revelation. Even if she couldn't understand everything Anubis had said, she understood the parts where she plead for her innocence.

I really couldn't bring myself to tell the royal family that a royal blood had gone rogue but at the same time, I couldn't stand the thought of someone getting punished unjustly.
Derrick would definitely show me no mercy but at least, I would be able to serve whatsoever punishment he would bring my way, knowing that I did the right thing, rather than living a life full with all the comforts, but void of peace.
Khloe's Residence.

" It would be difficult finding someone in such a vast forest, especially without any form of communication with the missing person. The case is even more delicate considering the state in which your son explained that the house was." I heard the detective in charge of the case say to my mom.
I really do not understand why he wouldn't just not believe me. I showed him evidence of pictures I took of the cabin before leaving with Mrs Smith.
" I don't understand. What do you mean by the case is very delicate?" My mom asked the detective.
" What I mean is even if the girl is found, she is likely to be found dead." The detective explained, causing my heart to sink.
" Wait, what do you mean? You're joking right? You have to be joking. Mom he's joking right?" I said, shaking my mom violently as if that was going to bring Khloe back alive.
" I'm sorry kid. We'll try as much as possible to find your girl but it's important I let you know what is likely to happen. Excuse me please."The detective said before walking away to join the rest of his crew to continue investigations.
I fell to the couch nearest to me. Just when I had gotten hope of seeing Khloe and confessing my love to her, just when I thought that I would finally Jack back his sister and restore Mrs Smith's sanity.
Why was life so unfair? Why does it always have to give my joy such a sharp end? I would never be able to get past this if Khloe never returns alive.
I would go to the ends of the earth to find her. I would never let her be taken away from me again.
I have made a promise to Mrs Smith to find her daughter, I have assured Jack that he was going to return to his home to find his complete family again and that, that I would do.
With or without the help of the police, I would find Khloe and I would find her alive.
