Khloe
I was breathing heavily in pains staring at my broken fingers.
It was as if the clothe was made of mettalic thread. Carrying the garment was a huge task alone. My arms were so heavy that I felt like I had grown muscles.
I don't even know where to dry the garment. I didn't want to anger him by leaving his Chambers without his approval, I also couldn't dry the garment in here.
" Oh heavens! How would I continue living like this?" I asked myself, finding a bit of comfort on the shiny floor that had been made craftily with marble.
I was still in my thoughts that I didn't notice when I dozed off.
Jamal
" What do you think has come over the alpha?" I heard a feminine voice speak from within the kitchen.
I was going to fetch myself, a cup of water when I heard the voice. It's been quite a while since I last punished rumour mongers, wouldn't hurt to take a break and entertain myself.
" What do you mean?" Another feminine voice asked.
" Oh please Hapita. Don't act like you haven't noticed the strange attitude of the alpha."
" I really don't know what to say about that Cassie. He's always been grumpy, snubbish and very strict. Aren't those still his attitudes?" The other female asked. She wasn't wrong actually, Derrick had always been all of those things.
" Really, I wonder how Jamal copes with him." Cassie said.
Wow, I never knew I could be interesting enough to be a subject of discussion.
" Jamal? We all know the level of their relationship. He is better off at communicating with the alpha. I think the person we should be consoling should be the human girl." The other female replied.
" Hush Hapita! Don't let the other members of the pack hear you of else, it's gonna be hell on your head." Cassie said to Hapita.
" Are you not tired of living in the bondage of hate? What have the humans actually done to us? Do we necessarily have to hate whatsoever and whosoever the alpha hates? His father the preceding alpha also hated the same witch that saved his life. The others followed suit and guess what? She was burned alive. If she were alive maybe wolves wouldn't have died the way they have now." Hapita replied her friend.
" Oh please Hapita, do not tell me you are one of the many cowards that believe in the empty words of that cursed witch." Cassie said already sounding bored of the same conversation she initiated.
" She cursed us Hapita. She cursed us all. What if it comes to pass hunhn?" Hapita asked Cassie who seemed to be frightened by the thought of being victimized by the witch's curse.
" What if I punish you for talking on duty?"I asked them, barging into the kitchen without warning.
" Do you think you would still be alive if the alpha had been the one to catch you being so useless?" I asked them, increasing my tone to scare them a little.
" I'm only letting you off because I feel the pack has had enough drama at the court. Leave before I make you leave living." I threatened them as they scrambled sway.
" Not you Hapita, just Cassie." I instructed.
Hapita reluctantly walled back to me while Cassie jolted out of the kitchen.
I took proper look at her. Her eyes were a normal shade of brown and her hair too. Her nose was slightly crooked but still pretty. Her tiny purple lips only made her look less of a lycanthrope. She was almost taller than the human girl. I couldn't get anymore sight of her body as her face and hair were the only exposed part of her body.
" You may leave." I instructed after digesting what she looked like.
They weren't wrong after all. I have to confront Derrick. I thought he already made a decision to let the human girl go.
This cannot be just Derrick. His weird behavior at the court proved my thesis right. He acted strange before passing his judgement.
It was rather too weird to me. At one time he looked frightened, at the other he looked like he remembered something very important.
I also noticed that when he passed by me to leave the Court room after passing the verdict he had this Aura around him.
Derrick had always had a dark aura around him though but this one seemed too unearthly to be Derrick's.
I have to find out the problem with my best friend.
Khloe
I opened my eye lids slowly before shutting them back but then snapped them open when I remembered my current situation.
" Oh no, oh no. What have I done?" I asked myself, trying to stop the tears that were already flowing from my eyes.
I had slept off and had not dried the alpha's hunting garment. It's official; Khloe Smith would die today.
" Hello." Someone greeted from behind me, making me to jump in fright.
" Sorry, I never intended to scare you." A beautiful looking girl said to me, making her way into the alpha's Chambers.
Wait, did she just say sorry for nothing? Am I still in dream Land?
" I can guess what you're thinking. You are the only human here. The only one we've had since a long time. And yes, I am a werewolf too but that doesn't make us different. I mean we're both creations of nature right?" She said, scanning the wet garment.
" I know it's gonna be a hard time for you here. Especially being the alpha's slave but if you will accept my friendship, we could help each other." She said, offering me a handshake.
This definitely looks fishy.
" I can't just accept your relationship especially after what I have been through in the hands of your people and how do I know you're not a test from the alpha?"I asked her, secretly hoping that she was legit.
" Okay then. How about I help you with the garment. Would you believe me then?" She asked.
A part of me wanted to trust her so, I gave her the garment.
Writer's POV
Derrick returned to his Chambers after a very long walk.
He barged into the Chambers to find the human girl standing, with her head bowed and the garment in her hands.
He was surprised that she was able to get the chore done.
He only wanted to punish her so he needed a just cause to do so. That was why he had ordered her to wash his garment and had ordered that no one, not even the cleaners to go up into his Chambers. He never expected her to have been able to do the chore without help.
" I see you followed instructions." He said to Khloe who only bowed and mouthed a 'yes alpha'.
" Well that's too bad because I am no longer in the mood to put that on." He said to her purposely to hurt her emotions.
Khloe looked up slightly at the alpha, biting her lips and inwardly cussing him.
" Keep that away and leave my Chambers. Just stay behind the door and don't leave for any reason. We would both go hunting. I hope you are strong enough to carry all the games I would kill." He said to Khloe without remorse.
The latter could only bow and obey as instructed, wondering how she ended up living a life like this.
On the other hand, since it was dark already, Michael decided to pause on his journey.
It was dark and unsafe, he was tired and hungry. There could never be a better time than now to rest.
He quickly set up a small tent where he ate a single can of beef.
He took a time out to remind himself of his reason for being in the woods. He had promised himself that he was not going to leave without Khloe alive and well.
" No matter how long it's gonna take me to reach you, I will keep on searching for you Khloe. Just hang in there for me." He muttered to himself before dozing off.
What Michael didn't know was that he was closest to Khloe than he could imagine. She was suffering in a territory just beside him.
