Writer's POV
Khloe pushed her right hand on Michael's chest to discourage him from running but it was already too late.
Michael had taken to his heels. As a skilled sprinter, it wasn't difficult for him to dodge the tall trees and big rocks, even in the dark.
Khloe was already feeling nauseous from all the running. With every passing minute, Michael's speed increased. Sometimes Khloe would look back to see if the alpha was keeping up. She had always known Michael was a good sprinter but she had never witnessed him run this fast.
Unfortunately, he was nothing compared to a wolf which was much more lesser to a lycanthrope.
Soon enough, Kodiac caught up with Michael. It jumped in front of him out of nowhere, almost scaring him to death.
Khloe fell from Michael's back, distracting him.
" Oh my God! Are you Okay?" Michael asked, trying to touch Khloe but before he could, he felt something hairy push him over with great force.
" Michael!?" Khloe screamed, stretching out her only good arm.
Michael was groaning in pain as the impact of his push was too much for him to bare. The only reason he didn't scream was so he wouldn't look like a weakling before Khloe.
Kodiac was in a state that he had never been before. His eyes were red, as red as blood, his fur was more green than midnight black, his claws were longer and sharper than ever, spit dripped from his mouth in bountiful fold. He looked no different from a rogue. All he wanted to do at the moment was to kill, kill anything or anyone that dared to touch his slave.
" Please don't hurt him. Let him go. I beg of you. I swear I will do anything you tell me to. Anything I swear!" Khloe screamed in tears as she begged Derrick to leave Michael alive. She knew he was no match for Derrick, he could tear him into a million pieces if he wished to but Michael would never give up nor plead.
She knew he would never agree to leaving here without Khloe but she didn't want anyone else to die in her name. She was already paying for Killing someone who had attacked her. Her emotions would do worse to her if her best friend were to die because of her.
Khloe's pleas managed to get to Kodiac and immediately, he exchanged positions with Derrick.
" Please let him go." Khloe continued to beg, her eyes full of tears that she didn't even notice that the alpha was standing before her unclad.
Derrick in his human form, walked majestically to Khloe in a bid to pick-up his slave and leave the human boy at the mercy of the creatures of the dark.
" No! I will not leave here without Khloe and not you nor anyone else will stop me." Michael yelled, slowly getting to his feet.
" Humans will always be humans." Derrick said, his loud chuckles filled with wickedness.
He gently dropped Khloe to the ground before turning around to have a proper look at the human boy.
" Let's make this easier for you shall we? I will remain in this form all through our fight. If you win, you get to keep the girl but if you don't, I get to keep the girl and punish you for wasting my time." Derrick said to Michael who only nodded to show his agreement to the deal.
" No stop this Michael, he's gonna kill you!" Khloe screamed again.
Once Michael was back to his feet, Derrick charged at him without warning.
He jumped on him, pushing him against the hard and rough barks of the trees. Khloe could only hear the sounds of breaks of trees.
" He accepted a challenge he couldn't keep up to. That had put him into my list for punishment. But since I have no use for him, it wouldn't hurt killing him."Derrick said as he walked before Khloe, holding Michael by his hair above the ground.
Already, Michael's face has been covered in blood, his bones broken, his skin bruised, several pieces of wood in his forehead, two long logs of wood already pierced through his chest. It didn't even take him much time to defeat Michael.
" Please leave him please!!" Khloe begged that she didn't even know when she began to yell.
As if possessed, Derrick went against Khloe's pleas. His hair was a huge mess and the color of his eyes were the same as his wolf's which was not supposed to happen.
Against Khloe's pleas, he tightened his grip around Michael's neck and then squeezed life out of it. He then threw Michael across the forest to an unknown destination.
The latter hit his Head on a cracked rock and broke his skull.
Khloe watched her best friend die right before her in a bid to help her. She couldn't believe she was losing another loved one simply because she was too weak to help.
" Michael. Michael open your eyes!" Khloe said, screaming the last part as if she could see him. She stood up to her feet to go in search of her best friend but before she could, Derrick scooped her in his arms, still naked.
" Let go of me. I said let go of me!" Khloe screamed, hitting his chest. The only impact her touches made was arouse the witch inside of Derrick.
