CHAPTER 7: THE TWIN

Okay, this guy here is really creeping me out.
Who in their right minds would not be crept out if a stranger suddenly smiles so big at you to the point that it looks so creepy?
“Oh! forgive me, miss. Where are my manners? I have forgotten to introduce myself to you. I hope it’s not too late for formalities,” he asked, still smiling.
“I’m Peace Juckser Lacosa. Chaos’ twin brother,” he added while stretching out his arms for me,
“I-I’m Myst. Tanleigh Mystic Rivera. Nice to meet you, Chaos’ twin,” I said as I shook his hands. Now I’m back to stuttering again since my confidence and courage are starting to wear f=of.
“Yeah, I know you.” He smiled again, a regular one this time.
Waut, what? He said he knows me? I mentally slapped myself. Why do I even ask this question? Of course he knows me! Chaos knows me too.
I think it’s better if I ask him instead of Chaos. He seems more approachable and they both know me. Yeah, I think it’s wiser to ask him how the hell did they know me and my personal life.
This guy might give me the answers that I am looking for. I don’t have to let myself suffer anymore just to locate Chaos when there’s someone who could provide me the answers.
“Earth to Tanleigh,” he waved his hand in front of me. Great, I just spaced out.
I stood straight before speaking. “Can we talk somewhere away from here? It’s a private matter,” I pleaded with him.
“What’s private in asking my brother’s whereabouts?” his brows furrowed, and his smile faded.
I gulped hard. “Actually, I just want to ask him something. But I guess you, here, can give me the answers that I am seeking,” I said while trying to match the intensity that his eyes are giving me.
“Alright. West reading nook. You go there first; I’ll just ask my friends to excuse me for the next class. I nodded at him promptly.
He then quickly turned his back on me and walked to his desk. I think he’s trying to ask his seatmate to excuse him when the professor comes after this break.
Instead of waiting for him like I initially intended, I followed his instruction and went to the west reading nook first. I actually love it here. The coziness of the nook and its style is giving me the grandeur of the Victorian Era.
This nook is actually an open space, however it is also hidden enough for me to be comfortable around here. The openness is also enough for me to smell the air and enjoy the scenery in front of me which is given by nature.
I decided to sit on the nearest concrete bench and immediately rested my head on my arms as I leaned onto the table.
While waiting. I thought about his face. I don’t know what has gotten into me but of all the thoughts that could possibly enter my mind, it’s his face that I have first thought about.
However, now that I think about it, his features are almost identical to Chaos, but of course, I also quickly noticed some difference in them, that I only saw when we talked face to face.
They both have the same hooded eyes that give so much intensity. As well as the perfectly arched brows and luscious lips.
The only difference though, is the shape of their lips. Peace has more fuller and reddish lips than Chaos. He also has this cut or line in the middle of his lower lip making it more plump.
That’s the difference between the two of them. It is also worth mentioning that they have different auras. If Chaos’ auras screams danger, Peace’s screams comfort. It’s like whenever you’re near him, there is an immediate comfort, safety, and like his name, peace.
Another significant difference between them is that Peace smiles a lot. I noticed that during our brief interaction. While his twin doesn't even know the word ‘smile’. Peace’s physique is also more mature and bigger looking than Chaos.
I’m not saying that Chaos’ is not mature enough, but Peace is just on another level. While Chaos looked like a normal guy that goes to the gym once in a while, Peace has an athletic build. Though he looks like a nerd due to his glasses, his body is really a noticeable trait. He has enough muscles for someone like me to distinguish that he is really bulking up.
Gosh! Why am I thinking like this? Earlier, I was just thinking of his face and their differences as identical twins, now, I am thinking of his body.
This is actually a good distraction, I’ll admit it. For the first time ever since I learned how to sit in silence and seclusion, I did not think about the pressure that I was put under or the disappointments I received prior. But I know that this is only temporary. Once this curiosity and confusion is over, everything will go back to the way it used to be before.
My train of thought stopped when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked around defensively before sighing. Peace is already here. Take note, he is smiling at me again.
“Why are you always smiling? Do you know that you look extremely creepy with that big smile?” I blurted out without any second thought. I’m sorry, but my curiosity is really taking over my body.
He chuckled at my comment and shook his head. He looked at me with wonder, probably thinking if I am crazy or what.
“You know, out of all the people that I know, you’re the only one who told me that my smile is creepy. But sure, I’ll lessen my smile whenever you’re around so I won’t creep you out. Anyway, what do you want to talk about? Why did you choose to go somewhere else aside from our classroom? What’s that ‘private matter’ about?” He asked. I can’t answer all of that in one go.
“Well, I’m about to ask Chaos how he knew me; but since you’ve said earlier when I introduced myself that you knew me, I might as well ask you instead of him. How on earth did the both of you know me? Care to give me the answers I’m looking for?” I told him while my eyes are turning to slits to show him that I am keen to find out the answers.
“Let’s just say that we’ve known you for who you are. You do you. That’s what makes us curious and interested in you. Add that to the fact that you kinda look and act like her,” he said, avoiding my gaze.
Her? Who is she? And ‘you do you’? Really? I don’t even know my true self.
“Maybe you’re wondering why I’ve said you do you. We've seen you being carefree. Maybe you didn’t notice it but we did. We saw you being your true and authentic self. Not the facade, not the mask, not the pretensions, but you as yourself.”
“Wow! I cannot believe that he just said that. It’s new to me. A person saying that he’s interested because of who I really am. I’m deeply moved by his sentiments. It’s like someone saw my true self worth even if I, myself don’t know it. I tried to stop the tears that were flooding my eye from falling due to a mixture of happiness and pain.
Now is not the time to be emotional. I need to get answers.
“O-okay, that’s new to me. Thank you so much for that. But I want to know, who is the girl that you have mentioned earlier?” I eyed him curiously with my moist eyes.
“That, my friend, is not my story to tell. Ask Chaos. You can find him in the abandoned building just across the massive garden at the back of your building.” He stood up, offered me a small smile, and left me there hanging and processing the words he said.
