Chapter 63 sixty-three
Episode 63
“So Sandra is not your biological mother?“ Paul asked
“Yes, I was adopted.“ Chloe confirmed, the accused have been arrested and taken to the prison. Trina said they will be charged to court next week.
They all thought Chloe is the Light bearer since she is Sandra's daughter, but she proved them wrong, they had to leave the hospital since it's getting late, and since Olivia is in good hands. They went to Chloe's home to check on Sandra since she is the only person left who could be the Light bearer.
“Where is she?“ Chloe thought as she had checked the kitchen and her room. The faint ringing of a phone echoed in her room and she went to check it out, she saw the slightly opened door, she peeped at it to see it had a stair descending to the underground level of the room, she went back and signal for others to come in. They followed her lead as the phone kept ringing again.
Sandra woke up from her impromptu sleep with a slight headache, she sat up as she shivered from the harsh cold floor she had slept on, she held her head, the area where she was feeling the headache as she tried to remember what had happened minutes ago.
Immediately she could recall what happened and she heard the creaking sound of the wooden floor. She looked over to where the sound was coming from.
She watched as Chloe descended from the stairs with a phone she recognised as hers in her hand.
“Chloe?“ She called
“Mum!“ Chloe said as she descended faster and rushed to her side.
“What happened? Are you okay?“ Chloe questioned as she got to her side seating on the floor
“I…” she was about to explain when her phone rang out again, she took it from Chloe and answered the caller, it was Noah calling.
“Hey, I've been calling since forever, are you okay?“
“I'm fine, I wasn't with the phone.“
“Are you up for a text?“
“I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be available for that right now, I'm having a slight headache, and can I take a day off tomorrow?“ She asked him
“I'm not in charge of that, but if you are not feeling too well, you can take a day off, take your medication and have a good rest.“ Noah said to her
“Thank you.“ she appreciated it because she wasn't expecting him to give in easily.
“Okay, good night” he said before he hung up. She dropped the phone as she stared at the faces of the people in her mum, familiar and unfamiliar faces, what is going on? she thought.
Just then her phone suddenly rang again, and with a panic she grabbed the phone to answer the caller, the 'shhh' sound that came as the aftermath of holding the phone scared her as she dropped the phone. They all stared at the dropped phone as they saw a dark finger line on it, it had been burned.
“Can someone tell me what is going on here?“ She asked because seeing the look on everyone's faces they weren't so surprised nor freak out.
“Okay, here goes nothing…” Paul said

Sheriff Trina ran her hands in her hair frustratedly in her office as she waited for Decker to report to her, immediately Decker walked into her office, she closed the window blinds.
“Anything?“ She asked beating him to whatever he was about saying
“Nothing, we couldn't track him.“ And she sighed as she slumped on her chair.
“The death toll keeps going up Decker, and this is all Carter's work, how can we get to him without knowing where he is, and where he is heading to!“ Trina said frustratedly
“I think the death toll rose since the Light bearer manifested, according to what Paul said, they are probably trying to wake Antenna up!“ Decker said
“It's Anetta” she corrected.
“Yeah whatever, but you understand my point, we need Cassie, you know she is the only one who could track and make him visible again!“
“I know! I know! I know! But I can't risk that, she should rest, she is prolly exhausted from today's happening, a lot happened today Decker, they all need to rest. Gosh! Today should just end already, I'm tired.“ She said frustratedly as she placed her head on her desk.
“There has to be a way out, there has to be a way out!“ She said repeatedly.
“Beep!“ The sound of notification beep in Decker's phone, he hesitated before taking it out to check what it was, after scrolling for some time he stopped to read what it was being said.
“There has to be a way out right?“ Trina said as she raised her head up to face Decker who was reading something on his phone with a serious face.
“What?“ She asked
“Check this out!“ He said handing out the phone to her. She took it and read the content before sighing
“They are signing petition for you and the Mayor to step down, it was created by… you know who…” he explained
“Yeah, I know, I know, you don't need to tell me I read it, well that is their business. If they want me to step down then so be it.
“If only they knew the threat this City is facing, they wouldn't have even thought of some useless petition as the next thing to do.“ Decker said
“Don't say that, those who signed the petition are probably those who lost something, those who lost their loved ones to this unknown serial killer, they need to blame someone for their loss, let them be, our Job is to prove them wrong, for now 20 people have signed the petition, and there will be more to come, this is to let us know we need to work harder, we've been trying our best, but we need to try harder, this should be our motivation we need get this bastard behind the bars Decker.“
“You are right we need to do something!“
“That is the spirit!“ She said just as the door clicked open, as an officer walked in after showing respect, she spoke up.
“One of the suspects wouldn't speak unless he sees you ma'am.“ She said
“Which of them?“ She asked.
“James…”
“James? Take me to him, let's see what he has to say.“ She said and the Lady -cop led the way.
