CHAPTER 09
"Rach, you should really come with me" Jenn pleaded, she's my dorm mate and she's loud.
"I told you we have an exam on Monday, I have no time to attend any concert" I stated, she's been bugging me to attend to a concert of his favorite singer and I've been rejecting her.
"This is just for an hour Rach, for fuck’s sake" She widen her eyes with her fingers on both hand sticks together. She looks funny doing that!
I thought about it, should I? 'Cause for real really, Jenn won't give up until I say yes. I guess I don't have a choice.
I rolled my eyes at her and flashed a small smile "Okay fine bu--"
"YESSSSS!" Jenn screamed as she suddenly stood up making me chuckle. She started dancing and twerking not even making me continue my word.
"Jenn stop" I laughed at her behavior "I have one condition"
"Condition?" She stopped dancing "What?"
"Uh-huh" I nodded "Study with me after"
She sighed holding her chest "You made me nervous"
I just creased my forehead at her reaction.
So that afternoon, I pulled a dress I never wear because I don't have any reason or event to wear it for. I wore a cap with my hair tied into a ponytail.
"Let's go?" Jenn asked with her excited voice. I just nodded.
We arrived at the place with full of people, I was shocked. Never did I imagine these crowd. The singer is this popular?
"Comeee" Jenn whimpered as we went inside the venue.
The lights are still off as the people slowly coming in. I was thankful enough that we are standing at a dark corner. Even if Jenn keeps on pulling me towards the front, I keep insisting to stay so she don't have any choice.
We were arguing when different lanterns flashed from the stage.
"It's starting! It's starting!" Jenn giggled.
Not a minute after, the crowd suddenly screamed their lungs out when a shadow from the stage appeared holding a guitar on his hands.
"WAAAA! THEO MY LOVES!" Jenn screamed. I gave her a deadly stare but she just roll her eyes and continued screaming her love.
I looked back to the person on the stage, he is already sitting on a chair with a mic stand in front of him. It was hard to see his face because it was just the lanterns that is lighting the place.
I watched as he started to strum his guitar. Not gonna deny, something on every pluck of his acoustic guitar and the melody of his song makes it make sense why he is this popular. He make good music.
I am a fan of music too but not what mostly my age adores, I like classic music.
He strummed the last chord and then ended his first song. He flashed a smile and the crowd started to get wild again.
"Did you enjoy the song?" He uttered with his deep but calming voice "I hope you do because that was the first track for my upcoming album titled "Luna", please listen to it once it release"
The concert continued with another song then a little chitchat before Theo, which I only learned his name now went to the backstage to rest.
"Are you still alive there?" Jenn suddenly asked.
"What?" I looked at her confuse.
"He's good right?"
I smirked at his boastful tone, she's so proud of her idol.
I just shrug my shoulders to tease her, she just made faces.
"This is my last son--" Theo stated after coming back, but he wasn't able to continue his words because of the disappointment from the crowd.
He smirked "Sorry to disappoint you guys but we will soon meet don't worry. So this is the first ever song I released" His voice soften "This song means so much to me and I hope you'll like it. This is the first time I'm gonna sing this in public"
I stared at him, admiring his love for music. I really admire artist who makes music because they love to and not only because they have to. And his passion, I can smell it from where I am.
"On my pillow
Can't get me tired
Sharing my fragile truth
That I still hope the door is open"
I didn't even realized it, I was already closing my eyes as he started singing. Feeling all the emotions he puts to the lyrics, to the song.
"'Cause the window
Opened one time with you and me
Now my forever's falling down
Wondering if you'd want me now"
It was almost done when I opened my eyes and stared at him, he was closing his eyes letting the song consume his whole being.
But what startled me was when he suddenly open his eyes, and it directly stared into mine. He stared at me so deeply that I was afraid I'll disappear. Then when the ending light went to him, I saw the tear on his right eye. It sparkled as the light hit it.
And it made me smile, he's a great artist. He deserve the fame and the support he got.
I smiled at him even though I don't know if he was really looking at me.
His mouth left the mic and he whispered a word I can't read.
I was so into the songs that I almost forgot I was just force to come here, not until Jenn started shaking me. She shook me so hard that my cap fell over my feet.
I bend down to pick it but it went towards the feet of the person in front of me. And unluckily, that person accidentally kick it making it roll over far away.
"Oh! My cap" I whispered as I started crawling to find it.
Just seconds ago I was enjoying this concert and now I'm suddenly regretting it again. My cap!

It's been weeks, and all of those week I was busy studying. Being a medical student isn't a joke, and it isn't meant to be a joke. Except for Jenn, I don't know why she choose this course if all she wants to do is adore a little CD.
I looked at her weirded. She just glance at me with a ghost of smile and continued hugging and kissing her music album.
"Should I send you for check-up?"
"What?" She asked not even paying me an attention "What do you mean?"
"You're sick. Shouldn't you be studying? We have a test tomorrow"
"I will study later don't worry" She responded before softly putting the album to her hanging cabinet full of different albums.
"I really should have to. Look at you, you're a worst case!" I pointed at the albums.
She just stared at me with her protruding eyes.
I shove my book to my bag and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Jenn asked as I started walking towards the door.
"Vinyl Shop"
"Again?" She exaggeratedly asked.
I just raised my right arm and gives her a thumbs up before opening the door.
"Classic freak!" She shouted.
"Freak freak!" I shouted back before closing the door. I even heard her loud gasped.
It's been my hobby. Unlike Jenn, I love to collect vinyl's. It's just it looks so classic. Like I have different vinyl's from different singers.
I visit the shop like twice a week and not even a single time I went home without a new vinyl.
I smiled when I saw Caren, the shop owner waved at me.
"You're here" She stated before handling me a new classic vinyl from The Beatles, and just like that my eyes sparkled.
"There's only two so I keep the other one for you" She proudly said.
"Ohhhh Caren" I went to her and gave her a side hug "This is ..." I widen my eyes doesn't know how to express my joy.
She just laughed at my reaction. I grabbed the rag on her hand and started doing what she was doing.
Caren just let me, she knows I love to help her and I don't want her rejecting my help "So who's the other lucky one?" I asked.
"Who got the other vinyl?" She asked and I just nodded "It's Theo"
I stopped hearing the name. Theo? The singer?
She must have read my reaction and nodded "Uh-huh that popular Theo"
"He comes here?" I asked confused.
"Yes, he comes her twice a week but unlike you. He comes here every Monday and Wednesday. You don’t got to see him 'cause you only comes here every weekends"
I didn't know that Theo visit Caren's vinyl shop. Unbelievable, he also collects vinyl?
