AL 15

Chapter 15
PTSD, is a traumatic disorder. People have this from witnessing or seeing a shocking or scary scenarios in their life such as death of someone.
I read through Theodore's patient information. And it was shocking to me seeing this. Who would have thought behind his popular and smiling under the lime light is a lonely person fight emotionally from his traumas.
Who died? That is one of my questions to him. You can't really tell someone who's really happy and satisfied and also who is just faking it.
"Collins, you are with me for today's patient. He's a very important patient so what happens inside that room, stays inside" Ms. Gomez stated as she goes on with her lab coat.
She handed me a paper, I read what's writing "It's the agenda for today, go with the usual day. Talk with him like how friends do and wait until I come" She continued.
My brows creased to confusing "Only me doc?"
"I have to submit my research paper for a minute. Don't worry, I'll be with you and you won't notice it" She gave me a reassuring smile before she walks out of her office first.
I know this is such a privilege to me, facing a patient first hand. After all the studying I've done just to feel this happening.
But, it's Theodore Martin. He's known and I know him, and it's just too awkward for me. I can't explain it but it's just too uncomfortable to me.
But who cares really? I'll just have to do my duty and it's done.
I sighed before maneuvering towards the Theodore Martin's room. And another one when I was right infront of his door.
I pulled the knob after knocking. And there he is, looking over the window. The afternoon sunlight reflecting against the window pane, winds whistle together with the birds.
And just when I came in, he looked over. Eyes as empty as the white walled four cornered room. Unlike how his eyes shines as he sings when I first saw him, these pair of eyes is as darker as the night.
After realizing who I am, his brows scrunched as his lips grimmed.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Ahm ... I'm with Doctor Gomez" I imaginarily pointed at the door as if Miss Gomez is there.
Theo's right brow arched "Well, I don't see a doctor here. So if you'll excuse, I don't need a visitor here"
"I'm--" I touched the uniform I am wearing, he looked at it and rolled his eyes "Unfortunately I can't" My voice fading "I'm training here"
Unexpectedly I was intimidated by him. Unlike the usual him, the one I saw and knew according to Jenn. He is far different person than that.
And I guess, he is really here for that reason.
"Hi Theo!" Miss Gomez appeared out of nowhere. We both glanced at her and she looked puzzled as she looked at us "Did I miss something here?"
"I thought this is a private matter as what we agreed doctor" Theo's deep voice uttered, full of intimidation and power.
The doctor gave me a small smile gesturing me to go out and I did.
"She is my trainee Theo, just treat her like some nurse. She won't blabber a thing, it's part of what they studied in school before coming here" I heard Miss Gomez explained before I close the door.
I deeply sighed, never even noticing I was already holding my breathe inside.
"Excuse me but what do you need?" I slightly hopped on where I was standing.
I looked behind to see a familiar beautiful lady. And after seconds of processing, I remembered it now. Right! She's that beautiful lady during the acquaintance party. Jenn said she's Theo's mother.
"I ---" I was about to respond when the door swang opened revealing a grumpy Theodore wearing a mask but it still shows how sharp his eyes are. He looked at me and to his mom before passing through us.
"Theodore, where are you going?"
"Just around" He deadpan.
Miss Gomez came out second, she heaved a sigh before saying to me "Just do some rounds Collins for now"
I nodded before stepping on the side away from the door. Theo's mom follows me with her strict eyes.
"Mrs. Martin, we have something to talk to" Miss Gomez said, opening the door behind to let the lady in.
I looked at the folder I am holding as towards the hallway of the hospital. Well I guess, that's my first job. Is it a success? 'Cause I guess not.
Just when you arrived to the reception area in where I would like to help some works, you will go past the garden. And I already did all the rounds of Miss Gomez patients.
I already felt the numbness of my feet. I walked towards the one of the vending machines and grab a cold drink.
As I opened it, my eyes wandered around to find some seats when it stopped seeing Theo sitting in front of the fountain.
He's sitting on one of the benches, mask still on not wanting someone to recognize him. Hesitant but I walked towards him.
Right when I am already standing beside him, he's eyes that was busy looking at the fountain landed at me. And that sharp glare from earlier is back.
I don't know what happened to him. And why is he so angry towards me. He isn't this person when we first met and still not the second and next time we met.
He always has that spark but now, it's as if I am the last person he wanted to see.
"Did Doctor Gomez send you here?" I bit my lips hearing his deep voice.
"Ahm..." I hesitated "No. I just saw you when I was passing"
He glared and I avoided his eyes. I extended my arms towards him, handing him the drink I got earlier "It's a little humid today, and I'm guessing you're here a little longer. You might want something to drink" I gave a supressed smile.
He avoided my eyes, not taking the drink and not responding to me. I took back my arms and hide it behind me.
It took a moment of silences before he spoke up "Could you please do me a favor?"
And I don't know what happened to me but something beats inside me hearing him say that. I stood tall and went inches towards him ready to listen to his favor.
He looked at me for a moment before eyeing the fountain again, he sighed "When you see me ..."
My brows creased. He looked at me again as he said without cutting our eye contact, "Can you avoid me when you see me?"
My mouth agape a little at the unexpected favor.
"No, cut that question. I'm not asking you, just please do it. Don't let me see you again."
I closed my mouth from opening as the creased on my forehead deepen "I mean, why? I don't get it" I asked.
"Just please do it" He stood up, he patted his clothes to remove the dust from sitting on the bench.
He stood in front of me, eyes straight towards my soul as he said "You are the last face I wanted to see"
He uttered before leaving me there dumbfounded. Really? What the ...
