KIM LISA'S POV
We stared at Mrs Hanna trying to comprehend what she just said. She suddenly smiled and I looked at the girls in confusion, they both had same confused expression as me.
"Hanna can you please enlighten us on what you just said?" Saline asked as she leaned forward beside me.
"Black Diva's done a lot for me and my family, if this is the little I can do to help her and you kind girls I'd do that. I'll tell you the little I know and with that, you should probably be able to connect the dots." She said and we smiled.
"A week before my sister died last December, she had called me privately and made me sit by her bedside in her hospital room and had told me the things I'll be sharing with you now." She said and we listened with rapt attention and extreme curiosity.
"Ten years ago my sister got pregnant for a black American man who was her boyfriend whom she thought loved her and would get married to her when he hears the good news. But sadly, he was a pretender and had a family outside the country which he ran back to immediately my sister notified him of her pregnancy..." She sniffed and smiled sadly.
"...Nessa was bitter and terrible, she dwelt in regret as she was still a college student when it happened. She had to quit school and began working to charter for me, herself and her unborn child because we lost our parents when we were still young and we suffered for a long time in poverty but my sis never gave up, she never succumbed to thoughts or advices from mockers to abort her child. She was happy with the thoughts of being a mother and never let the mockery of the world affect her determination.
Months later she got into labor and a kind neighbor took her to the nearest hospital as I was in school. She was taken to McKenzie's Hospital, there she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. And here's where the main story begins...
According to what she told me, when she had given birth to her baby she had stared for some moments at the child with joy but as she had stared at her, she knew deep down that her child won't survive because she had looked so pale and fragile. But still, Nessa had scrutinized her to check for any birth-mark or familiarity with her baby's father but there was none. She had smiled weakly at the child before handling her back to the nurse for clean up before the drug she was injected took complete hold of her and she drifted onto dreamland." She paused and I exchanged meaningful glances with the girls.
I think I'm beginning to get this....
"Nessa woke up few hours later, to find a beautiful healthy looking baby dressed up in the cloths she brought from home sleeping by her side. Of cause she thought the child was hers and she was happy as she took her home and brought her up." I noticed the tears that pooled at her eyes and I looked down sadly. "As the child grew up, she noticed the strange birth-mark behind her left ear while bathing her one day but she had shrugged it off slightly. But as months passed and years came, the child was four already and Nessa began to notice some strange traits in the character and appearance of the child. She was confused as hell, she didn't know what to do but after much thoughts, she decided within her to carry out a secret maternity test on her and the child. She did and when the result was out, she received the biggest shock of her life -she was negative as the child's mother!
Nessa tried and kept it all to herself, since she couldn't understand the mystery of how all this happened she would do well to raise the child as hers since she couldn't find hers. She brought Alexis up properly, loved and cared for her as her child and never revealed the secret to anyone except to me, and that was a week before she died last year..." Mrs Hanna wiped her tears. "Although she told me she thinks someone exchanged her child with another but she doesn't know who. She made me promise to protect Alexis at all cost and always make sure her hair covers the birth-mark in public places because she feels someone might come after the child. This is all I can tell you girls, I hope it was helpful?" She sniffed as she looked at us and gave us a small smile.
"It was indeed. Thanks so much for your time Hanna, we really appreciate all you just said." Saline said appreciatively.
"Yes. Thanks so much Hanna and we are sincerely sorry for bringing up painful memories." Rosy said sincerely.
"No it's fine. Is there any other thing I can help you guys with? I mean, if you want I can carry out a sibling test on them both for you guys, I work in the science lab remember?" She said and we smiled.
"That won't be necessary since we already did." Saline said.
"Oh really? What was the outcome?" She asked excitedly.
"It was positive Hanna. Reason why we came running to you immediately." Rosy smiled.
"Wow! Oh my goodness!" She gasped cupping her mouth in shock. "No wonder they say blood is thicker than water. Alexis has been drawn to Black Diva since she was six and had seen her in a commercial. Wow! What do we do now?" She asked and I smiled.
"Just one thing Mrs Hanna. Let's please keep this a secret from everyone else until we've discovered who's after the Scott's family. Can you do that?" I said smilingly and she nodded in understanding.
"I can definitely do that. Thanks for letting me know about this." She said.
"Thanks so much for your time once again." I said and she smiled. I glanced at the girls and we stood up.
"You're welcome girls. Thanks for visiting." She said and we smiled.
"We'll keep you updated, Alexis would continue to stay with us for now. Goodbye Mrs Hanna." Saline said as we walked to the door.
"Sure. Goodbye and safe return." Hanna said and waved.
"Goodbye." Rosy and I said as we stepped out of the duplex into the compound.
Now let's find out the evil person that could commit such unforgivable crime against another family and why?
I walked to the car with the girls and Ryan and the guard opened the car doors and we stepped in.
Let God help the perpetrator from the wrath of BLACK DIVA when she finds out....
CILIA'S POV
I smiled as I watch Jay sing and play on his guitar, he was really practicing for his concert and I really hope things turned out perfectly as planned.
I still couldn't help but wonder on how Diva and her parents would feel when the truth comes out.
I also can't help but wonder about the person who did this and why? We really have to find out soon but that'll take time. I just hope things turn our perfectly and we find the person before him or her discovers the child is with us.
We also need to double Alexis security escorts.
I folded my legs and clapped excitedly when he was done, I can't have him finding out about what's going on, he might mistakenly whisper it to Dan and Dan might mistakenly whisper it to Elle and then, all hell would let loose....
We have to find the perpetrator quietly before revealing it to her.
"How was it?" He asked walking to me on the couch.
"Perfect as always." I smiled leaning up and placing a quick kiss on his lips when he crouched beside me. He smiled beautifully, I can't ever stop loving him...
"You'll be my most special guest on that day. You know that right?" He said staring into my eyes.
"Of cause I do LJ Oppa." I smiled at him while wrapping my arms on his neck.
"So I heard Roe and Penny would be traveling to England soon, is that correct?" I asked sweetly.
"Yeah but that'll be after my concert. He doesn't wanna miss it." He said leaning his face closer. "Are you okay babe? You have to tell me if there's anything bothering you okay?" He asked and I smiled.
"I definitely would my love. Can't wait to hear you sing for me before the world." I whispered huskily and leaned my face closer, soon he crashed his lips on mine and we engaged in yet, another passionate kiss.
Just what I need to distract my mind from the throbbing in my head.
