Candy will be leaving for New York today in a matter of minutes to be precise and clearly Alexis is gonna miss her a lot, most especially because she gets attached to people easily. I noticed that...
Alex had a faraway look in her eyes although she smiled as she ran her hands through the dog's fur.
Kim was upstairs in her room, Nia was out with Carl and Lia was dressing up to accompany Candy to the jetport...
I dropped the sprite can on a glass table and leaned by the wall as I watched them play with the poodle. Candy was feeding her a toy bone as Alex continued to rub her fur, it seems she likes poodles, I should get her one right??
"Candy it's time!" I looked up to see Lia walking down the stairs all dressed up with grey purse in hand.
Genny walked down the stairs with Candy's luggage and headed outside. I looked back at the kids, they had stopped playing and were now wrapped up tightly in each other's arms. I looked at Lia and we both smiled, they are so adorable.
Soon they broke the hug and Alexis's eyes were teary, I sighed softly as she ran to me and I squatted down and hugged her comfortingly.
"Don't worry Alex, you'll see each other again. I'll take you with me to New York during this summer break. You'll love to spend summer holidays with Candy won't you?" I crooned, rubbing her back gently. She leaned back from me and nodded tearily, I smiled and wiped her tears.
"Can I see her off to the jetport?" She asked poutingly and I smiled.
"Of course you can dear." I said while brushing strands off her hair and she smiled and happily ran back to Candy who smiled back at her as she picked up her poodle and placed it on Alex's arms.
I chuckled and turned to Lia, she's been smiling at me in a very strange way of late.
"Hurry go get dressed. The jet would be arriving in forty minutes." She said smilingly and I nodded and looked at the kids once more before hurrying up the stairs, just as a silly thought occurred to me.
'Can Alexis be your sister? You've never loved a kid in the manner you love her. Maybe Ariel came back through another parent...'
I scorned at my ridiculous subconscious.

NARRATIVE
Wayne arrived at the VK'S Pharmaceutical company and stepped out of the cab he had boarded from the airport. He had come to see his younger sister for some family reasons, who works as a secretary for Mrs Vera Edgar.
He walked into the building and took the elevator to the thirteenth floor where her office was located alongside the PA's and Vera Edgar's.
Wayne stared briefly at the occupant beside him, a frail looking bald haired man of about forty years old holding a briefcase. He rolled his eyes ahead and soon the elevator reached the thirteenth floor and chimed open.
He stepped out and headed straight to his sister's office. On getting there, he knocked briefly and stepped in on hearing a soft come in. His sister stood with her back to him, facing the window as she answered a call.
Soon she was done and she dropped the call, she turned around and was surprised to see her immediate elder brother.
"Wayne!" She said in surprise as she walked to her seat.
"Merida!" He smiled and helped himself to another seat.
"You didn't tell me you were coming so soon! How's Mama?" She asked smilingly.
"Well I just decided you might need a little surprise. Mama's getting better, she wants to see you." He said and his sister's smile dropped.
"Wayne I would have done that long ago but you know my boss is very strict. She's denied me leave on many occasions now and I'm afraid to let her know again, she'll fret and probably fire me." She said bitterly.
"What about her daughter? Can't you ask her? Mama really wants to see you." He said sadly.
"That one? She's worst! A total devil and so so cunning. Don't worry Wayne, I'll definitely try and come see Mama next week. Even though I really don't wanna lose my job, it's high time I come see Mama, it's been so long." She said and Wayne smiled.
"That's relieving to hear." He said and leaned back on his seat.
"How was your trip? Ah...that your boss daughter is she still treating you bad?" She asked worriedly while placing her elbows on her desk and cupping her chins.
"No! It's the opposite now, she's a totally changed person." Wayne said smilingly.
"Really?" She asked with wide eyes. He nodded the affirmative and she sighed softly.
"That's good then. If only that little she-devil of a superior can be any better. I haven't told you right?" She said and Wayne looked at her curiously. "Of recent I overheard at the cafeteria some gossip that our young madam was friends with your boss daughter but duh... I think it's mere rumours."
"I think so too because I haven't seen her anywhere around Miss Lucia before." He said and she nodded.
"Right! Anyway, I know you must be stressed out and hungry, there's a cafeteria at the 11th floor. I would have joined you for lunch but that little witch left a pile of work for me few minutes ago." She said indicating the pile of unopened files on her desk and Wayne laughed shortly.
"Alright sis, I'll just go relax at your condo after eating. I have some business to settle for my boss before I'll leave, so I'm staying a few days." He said and she smiled.
"Stay all you want but don't forget you'll also be responsible for catering bills." Merida said and they both laughed shortly as he stood up.
"Okay, I won't forget that Merida."
"You still have the spare key don't you?" She asked.
"Yeah. See you at home secretary." He said and walked to the door while she chuckled and opened a file....

As Wayne walked out of the office and down the corridor, he passed by the PA'S office and was about walking past Vera Edgar's when he overheard something really suspicious. He stepped back after he made sure no one else was coming, and had carefully looked around for any CCTV camera, surprisingly there was none. There's probably one ahead or behind but none was at this very spot...
He's probably lucky, he mused and leaned his ear closer to the thick wooden door which was slightly opened. Peering in carefully, he noticed the brunette haired woman called Mrs Vera yelling at the frail looking man he had seen at the elevator earlier. He frowned and quickly brought out his phone, positioned himself stealthily and began to record...
"...all this is because of your stupidity Evan, if you had endeavoured to inform me earlier about the woman's death, this wouldn't be happening now. That child wouldn't be near Diva Scott right now, she would have been taken far away from California. No! If you had informed me about the DSD girls schooling in Sacramento she wouldn't have freely go live with her aunt there. Do you know what it means if this nine years old secret gets out?! That would be the end of me and even you!!!" He watched her in bewilderment as she yell at the man whose head was bent low.
"I'm so sorry Mrs Ve....."
"This is all your fault! If you had injected the child to death like I had instructed then, all this wouldn't have happened. But no, you think you are wiser Evan. Now see where your wisdom have led us too. Just pray she's not recognized or even suspected as blood if not I'll make you pay!!" She screamed, flinging her hands in the air. Wayne's eyes widened in great consternation and disbelief.
What in the world??!!! He exclaimed within him.
The new little member of DSD is Diva Scott's blood? Is that what this woman's tryna say???
"Get ready to meet my daughter Elina, she'll be taking care of your stupid mistake..." She huffed and puffed out smoke before walking down to her desk.
Wayne stopped recording and saved it immediately. He straightened up and quickly hurried down the corridor, he passed by the Elina little witch as his sister would call her. She was smoking which was no surprise to him, like mother like daughter.
He maintained a straight face and headed to the elevator. There's no way he's sitting down to eat lunch here after hearing such abomination.
He pondered on what to do and suddenly he remembered Jay. The kind idol that helped him out in the past, who even gave him access to his personal contact.
His yesterday concert was so amazing, Wayne was glad he didn't miss it and he was also glad to see his idol finally in love with a nice girl. Yes! He knows all DSD girls are nice.
He smiled as he reached the elevator and pressed the open button. He was going to call Jay after sending this recording to him.
Wayne heaved a sigh in relief, appreciating the fact that no one caught him back there, it was too risky.
The elevator door opened and he stepped in, heading for the last floor.
ELINA'S POV
I walked into mother's office puffing out smoke from my cigarette stick. She sat there shaking her legs furiously as she glared at someone, I haven't seen him before.
"Mother you sent for me." I said.
"Elina didn't I say no smoking in my company?" I rolled my eyes to the lit cigarette in the ashtray on her desk.
"Is that so?" I asked sarcastically, she sighed.
"Just come in and sit down. There's something you need to do for me." I rolled my eyes and walked to a seat. Another illegal job for me I guess.
"What's it?" She smirked.
"It's time for another phase of my revenge sweetheart. Sit down and listen to me." I did as she said rolling my eyes to the man standing before her.
"Who's he?" I asked.
"That's Evan, the nurse I'd once hired to do a job for me. Evan meet my daughter Elina." He bowed low in greeting, I turned back to mother.
"So what's the plan exactly?"
"Well, well... I'll tell you all you need to know and do, you just listen to me." She said smirkingly.
FAST FORWARD>>>
Goodness! Mother did this? It was her doing all this while, all because of blind revenge on a man who never loved her and even told her so? Hmm! I puffed out smoke from my stick. She did that and still wants to do more all because of rejection. That means she never really loved Dad, no wonder they quarried all the time when he was still alive. She loved Timothy Scott who never loved her and Dad, he was just there all the while beging for a chance with Mom because he really did love her. Mom finally accepted him after a year of Timothy and Elizabeth's marriage, and they had me a year later but then dad died eight years ago from a terrible illness. And now mother suddenly saw that the child was close to her real family and it wasn't gonna be good if they discovered she never died. Mom would be found out and that's straight ticket to jail, so mother wants me to do something. Take her away from her family once again before they discover the hidden secret.
She only knows how to send me to do her dirty jobs, I hissed as I paced round the room. Hmm what about Luciana my one time friend, wow good idea. With all that's happened to her in recent times and even in the past, she'll be needing to get revenge on Diva too. Yeah, I kept my eyes on her and never stopped reaching out to her after I did something that made her broke friendship with me, but she totally ignored and doesn't want anything to do with me again. And it's all because of this same family, hmm this is just the perfect way to get her to forgive me and to help her have revenge.
I've seen that Diva loves that kid so much, take her away and Diva would crash once again, but this time terribly. I should call Lucia and arrange an appointment with her so we could discuss.
Sounds like a plan.
Okay, she won't pick up, let me leave a message to her voicemail then...
"Hi Lucia, I know you don't wanna have anything to do with me but I've got some information about Diva Scott that you'll find very useful to you. If you wanna know more about this info, call me when you get this voicemail so we could arrange a way for us to meet and discuss about it. It's not something that could be conversed on phone. Call me if you're in." I said before I hung up.
Yessss!! The Lucia I once knew will definitely call me back.
I anticipate the meeting already.
JAY'S POV
I stretched my hand to my bedside table and picked up my ringing phone with my eyes on Roe and Dan. Roe was getting ready for his trip tomorrow while Dan sat on his bed busy with his laptop.
I rolled my eyes back to my phone and smiled on seeing the caller. Since that day, this is the first time he'll be calling me. I relaxed more on the headrest, crossing my legs in the process as I tapped on the green icon.
"Hello." I said placing the phone on my left ear.
"Hello Sir Jay, it's Wayne speaking."
"Yeah I know. How have you been?" I asked smilingly.
"I've been well Sir. I must say congratulations on your music career and relationship life." He said and I smiled more.
"Thanks Wayne. How's work been faring of late?" I asked.
"Absolutely perfect Sir."
"That's good to know."
"Thank you sir. Well uhm...the reason I called is to ask you if you've seen the mail I sent you few minutes ago?" He said and I furrowed my brows.
"Oh you did? I haven't. I'll check it immediately I drop your call." I said and Dan glanced at me curiously before returning his gaze to his laptop.
"Okay Sir. Please do, it's really important and urgent. If there's anything I'll be able to help you with after seeing the email, please don't hesitate to contact me." He said and I became confused and curious.
"Okayyyy," I drawled.
"And in case you're curious on how I got my hands on such? Well I was there to visit my sister when I overheard the conversation and I had taken the recording myself."
Okay what?
"Let me not confuse you further, you should really look into the email. Good bye sir and take care." He said.
"Thanks Wayne. Goodbye!" I said and he hung up.
Immediately, I picked up my laptop from the drawer and connected it to my phone. I scrolled to my mailbox and on opening it, I saw Wayne's amongst several other unread emails there. I quickly opened it and it led to a video, not perfectly clear but audible.
After watching and listening for a minute, a loud gasp escaped my lips.
