CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT: Love matters

DANIEL'S POV
"So that's how you met her?" She asked sleepily.
"Yeah, that was three years after my terrible accident that made me lose my memory a bit and forget about you but I'm still thankful for all that's happened. You are with me now and we ain't parting, It's never gonna happen." I smiled "Aren't you cold? You are a sleepy, I should take you back inside." I added worriedly.
We were sitting at the rooftop watching the stars and enjoying the view of the city, I was also singing and playing her a song with Lisa's guitar, before she asked me to tell her about Goldie. Although she's wearing my Jacket and leaning her head on my shoulder, I don't want her to catch a cold.
"Can you sing me one more song? A korean song." She whispered, with eyes closed.
"Okay," I smiled sideways at her and I stroke her hair briefly and gently.
I removed my hand and returned it to the guitar and began playing a song by Hwasa titled Orbit, softly.
Kkeuteopsi nan georeulge
Geudaeui juwireul
I will be back
Giuljyeo ganeun
Siganeul doedollyeo
Just drop it
Oeroumdo geuriumdo
Pihagin humdeureo
Naega isseo geommeokjima
You won't lie
You will shine bright
Gyeolmarui bichi boyeo....
By the time I was through, Diva was fast asleep on my shoulder with a beautiful smile on her face. I dropped the guitar and carried her up bridal style, downstairs into the house and upstairs to her room. Not leaving the guitar though.
I dropped her carefully on her bed and tucked her in properly. Brushing few strands of hair off her face, I smiled and kissed her forehead then whispered softly.
"Good night sweetheart."
I walked out of her room with the guitar in my hand closing the door behind, and down the stairs where I encountered Lisa holding a water bottle which she must have retrieved from the kitchen and climbing upstairs.
"Elle's asleep already?" She asked with a smile.
"Yes," I replied. "Here's your guitar." I smiled handing it to her.
"Okay. Thanks Dan," she collected it. "Jay's waiting for you downstairs, the dude insisted on driving home with you. Roe left earlier you know." I chuckled.
"Thanks Lisa, we'll leave now. You take care and goodnight."
"Goodnight," she smiled and walked up. I smiled and walked downstairs, Jay was sitting down on the couch busy with his phone. I think Saline's gone to bed.
"Hey bro, you could have just left with Roe. Did I kept you waiting for long?" I asked walking to him. He looked up from his phone.
"Not really, Saline went to bed just few minutes ago. I just wanted to ride home with you, Roe left earlier because he was tired and needed sleep. He's been staying up late so much due to the tests, it's a good thing it's over now." He smiled.
"Yeah that's true. Let's head back now, shall we?" He nodded and stood up. I turned and my eyes landed on the portrait of the girls I drew hanging on the opposite wall.
"Great artist I'm very proud of." Jay said tapping my shoulder proudly.
I chuckled as we both walked out of the building.
I really love the fact that they moved out of the dorm, at least we could visit the girls anytime we want. And I can see my sweetheart every other day. I had so much fun today...
ROE'S POV
I hurried down the hallway, heading to the lecture hall I'll be holding the tutorial with the year two biochemistry students. In less than three minutes, I arrived at the venue, but I was surprised to see that girl from the library, Lucia's friend leaning by the wall closer to the entrance of the lecture hall. She straightened Immediately she saw me and before I could say a word, she was already talking.
"I know what you're gonna say but please I really need this tutorial. I'm not sure I did pretty well at the previous academic tests, that's why I'm here. I just got to know of this tutorial, please don't send me away." She pleaded seriously.
Me send her away? For what reason?
I smiled at her.
"I'm never gonna send someone who wants to learn away, how can I be a good tutor if I do that? Go in and settle with the rest please." I said.
"Thanks," she smiled and walked in. Her accent confirmed what I've been suspecting, she's definitely british.
Was that why she stood here without going in? She was really waiting for my approval? That's pretty unnecessary. I shrugged and walked in and the class commenced.
Honestly throughout the session, I couldn't stop staring at her and each time she caught me staring I don't avert my gaze. I was getting attracted to her and that's quite alarming? No it's not! The only reason it would've been was if she's as bad as the reputation her friends were known for, second reason is because I'm supposed to get married to some Arianna princess once I turn 25. So literally speaking, I'm not supposed to be having any sort of feelings for any girl other than Arianna, it's been years since I last saw that girl....
Anyways the tutorial session for today was over and the students were all heading out.
"Thanks for another wonderful session your highness." Gizelle said playfully. I chuckled.
"It's Roe, Gizelle. How many times do I have you to tell you that?"
"I know your highness, goodbye your highness." She teased and ran out of the hall. I smiled and turned my attention back to her, she was about heading out.
"Uhm excuse me," I called after her. Many of the students turned around.
"Not you guys, her." I smiled and walked over to her. Thankfully most of them quietly walked out.
"I don't know your name sorry." I said.
"It's Penny, Penelope." She said.
"Okay Penny, I just wanted to say I'm sorry about the other day. You know I walked out on you even though I might have a reason then. It still wasn't right, so I just wanted to apologise."
"It's nothing your highness. I wasn't supposed to walk up to you in that manner. I'm also sorry Prince Roe." She said with a smile.
"Oh no! Not you too. Please just call me Roe and quit the titles." I groaned playfully and she chuckled.
"If I may ask, what's your home country? You seem british, your accent I mean, I'm just curious that's all." I asked.
"Yeah, I'm really not american but I've lived here long enough to be seen as one. My home country is Ireland." She said and I was surprised. That's Princess Arianna's country.
"Wow, that's nice to know." I said as we began to walk out of the hall. "So I guess we're cool now?"
"Certainly." She smiled.

JADE'S POV
It's been two weeks and two days since I last saw Elle, and I can't say I've been completely fine all through but I think I'm getting better gradually. I was always out with my friends, I didn't spare myself any opportunity to lament over my pains, I tried desperately to forget about her and move on by occupying myself with sports, school work, model work; yeah I sometimes model for some company, I hanged out with the guys, laughed and joked. The only time I had to think of her was at my home in the night but still, I refused to surrender completely to the feelings. I was determined to heal, so I did made sure to do all it takes to attain it. It was my fault afterall...
The only thing I was bothered about was the fact about her forgiving me for how I talked to her that day, it was very stupid of me to think of her as some gold digger even though it wasn't my intention to do so. I was just not thinking straight that day, I sent her an apologetic message which she didn't replied to. Well right now, I just have to move on and that I'm doing....
Right now, I'm walking to the football field to meet Raphael, but then i noticed someone just few steps ahead of me.
Leaning on a steel fence close to the field, was a girl. She was leaning her head and hand on the fence as she made a call.
"...her treatment is commencing tomorrow? Okay. Dad it's the favour of God.Yes, I have some really wealthy friends and they were the ones that assisted me. I'll do that Sir. Yes, I'll do that. My regards to Mum. Good bye Dad." I was already close to her, and it seems she was through with her call.
For some unknown reasons, I couldn't stop staring at her, even when she had her back to me and I wasn't seeing her face. Why can't I stop staring?
The girl made to turn around but somehow she missed her step and was about colliding with the ground, I was fast enough to catch her on time. Her eyes widened when she saw my face and my eyes too widened.
Isn't this the girl from that night? I could recognize her even though her black curly hair was now held up in a ponytail and her black eyes weren't stressed looking like before. It's definitely her.
"Y..you," she stuttered. Seems she recognized me too. I noticed the position we were in, so I straightened her up Immediately and removed my hand from her waist.
"Sorry," I said.
"No, thanks." She replied with a smile. Her smile was so beautiful, almost blindfolding.
Not yet Jade, not yet...It's too soon for this...
I nodded and walked away. I could tell she stared after me for a while. I need total healing before I fall again.
"Sharp guy," Raphael said smirkingly Immediately I reached the field and met him. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"Another chick, I see." He said again and that was when I understood what he was referring to. He must have seen what transpired between us. I rolled my eyes away.
"You aren't serious." I said dismissively, sitting down beside him on the pavement. We only came to watch a football game, we aren't playing today.
"She's the one dude. Don't let her go, she's the right girl." He said again.
I stared at him like he just fell out of space. Raphael's like that, sometimes he say things and they happen just as he predicted. I remembered he warned me the first day I met Elle and told him about her, he told me to prepare for heartbreak but I didn't listen and it sure did happen...
"I'm not sure you are right this time. I can't get hurt again, it's too early and I'm still healing." I said nonchalantly.
"I'm telling you she's..."
"Not now Raphael, game please." I interrupted, turning my attention to the players on the field....
CILIA'S POV
"Faster! Faster!! Faster!!!" Tania cheered tauntingly as I laughed and began running on the treadmill instead of the slow walk I was doing before.
Elle was upstairs probably bathing or preparing for dance practice. Just ahead of me sitting on a couch was Alexis and Lisa watching some dance videos and eating from a bowl of popcorn. Alexis's driver brought her about thirty minutes ago. Me? I had dared Tania that I could do the treadmill excercise better than her so here I was sweating terribly and breathing heavily, while she derived Joy in daring me further.
"Tania please it's okay, I give up already." I gasped stopping the machine.
"So soon? Who's best now?" She taunted smirking In jubilation.
"You okay? you're better, you're the best." I sighed collapsing unto the floor. I heard Lisa sniggered.
"Partner!" I whined.
"Sorry," she chuckled, throwing me a wink.
"I think I need water." I said, while laying flat on the floor.
"Here's water," Elle said giving me a water bottle. When did she come downstairs?
I took it gratefully and sat up, I gulped down the contents immediately.
"That's better," I said sweetly. Dropping the bottle and laying down back on the floor. Note to self; never dare Tania on any sport or exercise activity again, she always win...
"Hey girls, practice begins in five we'll use the basketball court at the back of the house." Elle said after clapping her hands for attention.
"I think I'm hungry again," I sat up immediately, on hearing that.
"Uhm Lisa, I thought we had lunch like twenty minutes ago." I said in disbelief. Just two days of living with her, I discovered she truly eats a lot. Right now she's even eating popcorn, yet she's hungry.
"I'll just have pizza," she said giving us a cute innocent look before standing up from the couch and walking to the kitchen.
"Oh boy!" Elle gasped.
"Does she have a drum in there?" Tania asked ironically, placing a hand dramatically on her waist.
I chuckled and picked up my phone from the nearby stool. A message from LJ was already waiting for me.
'Hey babe, what's up. You girls aren't coming to school today?'
'We might, right now we're about to practice. How are you doing?' I typed back, smiling as I did.
It felt like we were in a relationship already, there's no denying it even though he's yet to properly ask me out.
I dropped my phone and looked up to see the girls looking down at me and giving me a teasing, suggestive look. Lisa was back with a pizza pack and one in between her hand and mouth, as she munched silently.
I giggled like a teenage school girl caught in an act.
"Lisa can I have one of that?" I asked innocently. They chuckled in amusement.
"Diva will you teach me how to do the RoboCop hip-hop dance? I wanna learn it." Alexis's cute voice asked from behind. Thanks sweetheart for the rescue...
Elle smiled and walked over to her.
"Sure darling, I would." She said stroking her hair.
"Lover girl," Tania said smirkingly and I looked up to her with a grin. I stood up and walked to Lisa who was already sitting down and munching pizza with eyes closed and legs crossed on the sofa, the pack was on her lap. I picked up a piece and took a bite, just to tease her a little. She doesn't joke with her food.
"Hey give that back." She shouted as soon as she noticed. "I thought you weren't hungry," I chuckled and walked away, while taking slow bites from it.
"Well I'm not," I said sweetly.
"Partner!" She whined, I chuckled and tossed the remnant of the pie into my mouth, then I winked at her. She face palmed herself with a groan.
"I'm not gonna let you eat Korean meals again for a complete week," she suddenly said smirkingly. My face went sour Immediately.
That's my new food weakness.
A week? That's too much, I might faint...
"Partner, my sweet partner, my darling Kim Lisa, you know I..."
"Girls, let's go practice." Elle interrupted as she stood up with Alexis.
"... love you." I completed my sentence. And the girls burst into laughter.
Shit! I can't lose those yummy tasty foods, for a whole long week? she won't do that, would she...

JAY'S POV
"What do you think of this piece Sir?" The saleslady asked with a smile as she showed me a beautiful silver necklace she had just retrieved from the show glass.
The pendant was in the form of a heart that was decorated with sparkly little diamond stones, and a shiny silver key grafted in between.
A heart and a key, I love it...
"It's perfect, can you wrap it up for me?" I said, deciding it was good enough after several search.
"Sure sir," she smiled. I pulled my face cap down as she wrapped it up in a beautiful gift box.
Well I'd come to DS SHOPPING MALL to get something special for Saline, Lisa told me her birthday was on twentieth, just a week before my audition. I've been thinking of how to ask her out perfectly and when my sis told me about her birthday, I decided it was the perfect way and day to ask her. I'm also planning a surprise birthday party for her with her friends, one that'll make her know she's extremely loved, she'll be so happy. And it's her happiness that matters most to me.
I stared at the big brown teddy, in the gift bag in my left hand. This would be her birthday gift, I noticed she loves teddies, the necklace would be my life promise to her, she'll never have any reason to regret accepting me. I smiled at the thought of her cute smiling face...
"Here you go sir." I collected the small gift bag from her and smiled.
"Thanks," I said. She told me the price two minutes ago and I already settled it by transferring the cash with my phone to their account. I was about turning and walking away when she interrupted me.
"I'm sorry sir Jay, but I'm a huge fan that's why I was able to recognize you despite your disguise." I chuckled. "Can I have a photo please?" She asked politely.
"Sure," I smiled and she almost squealed but she did well in composing herself. She smiled and took a shot of us with her phone.
"Thanks Sir, I look forward to your next music release." I smiled and turned away as I heard her trying to cover her squeal quietly. I chuckled, fans are what makes idols popular, without them no celebrity can be popular. So it's always good to be nice and polite to people because they might turn out to be a fan of yours.
"Jay?"
Oh no! I wasn't planning to be found out, I just wanted to slip out successfully the way I slipped in. But that's a man's voice. I looked up and recognized the caller immediately. We once met during highschool but I also ran into him last year in South Korea.
"Hey dude," I said in surprise as we slapped hands and fist bumped.
"Olenmanieyo( it's been a while)" he said with a smile.
"Sure Carl, what are you doing here in America?" I asked and he smiled.
