Chapter 92

I woke up the following morning and sat staring at nothing when I heard a knock on the door.
"Sir, you may come in," I said but there was no response. I stood up from the door and opened it.
"I guess he doesn't want to come in like before." I thought. I raised my head up to see who was at the door since the person didn't utter a word.
I was shocked by the figure of the person standing in front of me.
"Dera!" I called looking at her as I remembered how we spent our days together in the orphanage.
"I came here to welcome you in my own way." She said.
"But I will like to know how you know my name?" I looked at her being shocked.
"You do not remember me?" I asked and she nodded.
"Alright, I would like to let you know how I knew you." I paused and looked into her eyes.
"I am your friend, Sophia. You met me at a hospital if you can remember." I said and she shook her head.
"Alright, I don't know the name of the hospital but I was your friend with a girl with the name Naomi." She shook her head and I continued.
"Do you remember Mr. Ryan who was once your doctor?" I asked and she thought for some minutes before nodding her head.
"If you can remember that, then you should remember his niece," I said, and she shook her head.
"I do not remember." She said and turned back. I sensed that she could remember who I was but didn't want to tell.
I stretched my hand to her but remembered that I had told her that I am a vampire and I suppose that is the reason she behaved like that.
Some minutes later, I walked to the living room and could see Donald on his laptop.
"Oh!" He exclaimed looking up from his laptop.
"Good morning, Chloe." He said and shut down his laptop and closed it.
"I guess that you would have seen the maid I told you of." He said. "Her name is Dera."
'So the maid is Dera.' I thought.
"Yes sir, I have seen her," I said.
"Alright." He said. I continued staring at him. I wanted to know the reason Dera came to work as a maid.
I thought about asking Dera herself but waved it off as I was sure she wouldn't let me know. ' Donald may not know her reason for becoming a maid' I thought to myself.
"Any problem?" Donald asked and I contemplated either to ask him or not.
"I need to get answers to my question." I finally said after much contemplation.
 "Go on." He said.
"Alright." I said and he stared at me.
"I am listening." He said and I nodded.
"Okay," I said then took a deep breath before continuing.
"How did she become your maid here." He smiled, looking at me, and I looked away.
"I mean why did she become a maid?" I asked and he sighed.
"Do you know her?" He asked and I didn't know how I was to reply him.
I looked at my back and saw Chloe watching far behind.
"Yes," I replied.
"Alright." He said.
"Back to your question." I looked at him as he paused.
"After recovering from her mental illness, her parents took her to a park and abandoned her there." He said.
"How do you know that she was abandoned?" I asked.
"I was in the park when she was left by her parents. She pleaded with them to take her back with the promise that she would no longer be mentally demoralized, but they didn't accept to take her with them." I angrily looked at him.
"So you decided to take advantage of that and make her your maid?" I asked.
He smiled looking at me. "That's wrong." He said.
"I actually accepted to take care of her like I would to you but she told me that she would need to pay me a price. I shook my head but after much contemplation I agreed telling her to not mention evil things." He said.
"Go on." I said when I saw that he paused.
"She asked to be my maid." He said.
"And you agreed?" I asked but he shook his head.
"I didn't agree but I had to after some weeks of her pestering." He said. "Alright." I said. I looked at Dera and smiled.
"Dera!" I called.
"I do not know you!" Dera said and I kept looking at her.
"Calm down," I said and she shook her head like how she did when she had mental issues.
I stood still and looked at Donald.
"I will be going back to the room," I said and turned.
"Hold on," Donald said making me look at him. He stood up from the couch and walked towards me.
"I need to get you some things you will need for bathing." He said.
I looked at him and was scared knowing what he was going to bring out as he thought I was human.
"Also if you can do get me some wipers," I said and he looked at Dera.
"Get me some wipers." He said. He went into his room to bring the other things.
Dera walked to me and handed me some pack of wipers. She turned to leave and I held her hand. She turned to me and gave an irritating look.
 "Alright." She said.
 "I know who you are."
"Then why did you have to lie to me?" I asked and she took off her hand from me.
"I don't want to be a vampire." She said.
"Okay but can we act like friends now?" I asked.
She looked at me and laughed.
"I will only be able to do that if I get crazy like before when I had you as my friend." She said and I growled.
The house shook and Dera used her hands to close her ear.
"What happened?" Donald asked. Dera was about to speak but had to keep shut when I looked at her.
I immediately collected the soap from Donald and ran off into my room.
Getting into the room, I threw a punch on the wall as I felt pained that Dera didn't want to associate with me. I remembered Naomi who I also knew with Dera.
