I remembered how she did not want to associate with me. "Is she going to tell him that I am a vampire?" I asked myself and shook my head. "I won't hurt her now," I said to myself. "But I am going to hurt her if she allows Donald know that I am a vampire." I sat on my bed and closed my eyes then there was a knock on the door which I hesitated to answer. "Yes, who is it?" I asked after some minutes. "It is Dera, please do open up," The person by the door said. I looked at the soap and wipers which was with me and went to the direction of the bathroom to keep the soap. I also walked to the closet to keep the wipers. Dera knocked on the door again, and I thought about what she wanted to talk to me about. "I'm coming," I said and immediately kept the wiper in the closet and walked to the door after shutting it close. "Dera!" I called immediately I opened the door. "Sophia!" She called and I nodded. "Donald told me of all that happened to you." She said and I nodded. "May I come in?" She asked, and I nodded, leaving the way for her to pass through. "I am sorry for that." She said sitting on the bed. I shut the door close and walked to her. "What's wrong?" I asked her, seeing her look down, and she looked at me, pointing to the bed. "Have your seat." She said and I sat down. "I told Donald that I could remember who you are and he told me to come here." She said and I nodded. "That's your reason for coming here?" I asked, getting up to my feet, and she shook her head. "Your Uncle once told us that you are not a vampire like you said you are." She said, and I smiled, looking at her. "You would have believed that I am a vampire if my uncle didn't let you know?" I asked and she looked down. "Answer me," I said and she looked at me. "You said that like you meant it." She said. "Then? I asked. "We believed you," She said and I laughed. "Why are you here?" I asked her. She looked at me for some minutes then cleared her throat. "I want to know why you are here?" She asked and I smiled. "Haven't Donald told you my reason?" I asked and she angrily looked at me. I stood up from the bed and moved some meters away from her so that I wouldn't hurt her. "You bloody liar, you made up a story and told Donald. You said you were threatened to leave the house unless you will be burnt in the house." She said and I held my peace. "It's true," I said. "A lot of things have happened after I left the hospital." "Alright, I would love to hear it." She said sitting back. "After going away from the hospital, my parents sent me away because of some baseless accusation," I said remembering how I was sent out of the house. "They threw me out on the street where I had to take care of myself." Dera looked at me remorseful and I smiled. "I was later found by some women who took me to an orphanage where I became friends with a girl." I continued. "I associated with the girl more than anyone else, and this got a lot of children angry with us. A problem occurred in the orphanage and children were being taken out of the orphanage by the government every week. The women taking care of the orphanage didn't allow them to take my friend and me away from the orphanage as they looked at us so much," I paused and looked at Dera, who was digesting the story, then I continued. "After some awaiting time, the government granted their request of going to search for children and they neglected our needs. " I said. Dera frowned looking at me as I wore a sad face. "They should have allowed the government to take you instead of they caring for you now then neglecting you later." She said with a frown on her face. "You may go on." "Days to when they were to go look for homeless children, we were sent away and they told us that they hated us from the start." I continued, and Dera opened her eyes wide to show that she was shocked. "Then why did they take you?" Dera asked and I shook my head. "We were on the street looking for a place to lay our head on for two days. We finally found one where people stayed and lived with them, but we left there days after as the people were leaving as we didn't feel secure there, and on our way, my friend was shot down while I cried. " I said continuing the story. "Do you know why she was shot and the person who shot her? " She asked, and I took in a deep breath, staring at her. "The person who shot her came to me and apologized that he wanted to shoot a bird but mistakenly it missed and reached her. He offered to take her to a hospital and I nodded. We went to the hospital and it was confirmed that she was brought in dead. Due to this, the man ran away, and I had nowhere to go. I didn't bury my friend's body as I didn't have the ability, so I left the body in the hospital and went to look for where I could live," I said, and Dera interrupted. "The man deserves to be punished. " She said and hissed then told me to continue. I was happy that she believed my story which was a mixture with lie and a little truth. "I got to a place and found it empty. I decided to live there. I stayed in there for some days, and then some people came to threaten me, saying that if I didn't leave there by the next day, they were going to burn me up with the house." I said and Dera shook her head. "I ran for my life in the evening and was tired. I saw a cave where some people stayed and went into it. They took me as one of them and offered get me meal every day for a week but I felt lonely."
