Chapter 19 Rural Life vs. Urban Life

A day after the first kiss
Stefani rolled to her bed, screamed on her pillow, got up, frowned while panting, then rolled over again.
"Young Miss, I brought you hot milk. You should be able to sleep after drinking this. You still have school tomorrow."
"Big sister, what does it mean when someone kisses you?" Stefani asked, now sitting at the edge of her bed and expectantly looking at Rose.
Rose paused, taken aback by Stefani's sudden question. She then placed the tray at the bedside table and moved to sit next to Stefani who looked nowhere near getting a sleep.
"Well, it depends," Rose said, observing Stefani's reaction. By the way Jonathan took Stefani back home a while ago and Stefani's death glare was thrown at Jonathan, and the way Jonathan stared at Stefani's back when he entered the mansion, she could already guess what had happened.
"What do you mean?" Stefani looked at her, now all too serious even with messy hair and wrinkled sleeping clothes.
"Hmm. If he kissed you-"
"N-No, Big sister! This is .. this is my friend's case not mine! My friend!"
Rose stifled a laugh but nodded her head. "Right, your friend. Hmm, well, if it's a simple kiss like in the forehead-"
"It's on the lips, Big sister," Stefani looked at Rose very expectantly, like Rose knew all the answers to her questions.
"Lips? Mister Jo- I mean, the guy kissed your friend on the lips?" Rose asked and Stefani nodded innocently.
"I-It was.. i-it was a d-deep one too," Stefani blushed hard and looked at her side, suddenly feeling shy and embarrassed from recalling the vivid memory.
"D-Deep?" Rose's eyes were getting wider each second.
"Y-Yes... with t-tongue..."
Rose couldn't help but gasp then smile to herself. Her young mistress just had her first kiss and it was from her fiance, she was finally opening up to her future husband, they were finally getting along! Ah, she couldn't be happier. But to think Jonathan Gonzalez was the type of man who'd kiss his inexperienced fiancee in that way... Rose shook her head slowly, never did she think her young miss' future husband to be this perverted. Well, as long as Jonathan Gonzalez was a good man and would take good care of Stefani, Rose would still root for him to be by her side.

Unknown to them all, Jonathan Gonzalez had already gone beyond just taking care of his little stubborn fiancee. There was a sweet and sour expression on other people's faces as they watched how the older person took care of the younger, melted how sweet Jonathan treated Stefani and annoyed how it suddenly became out of control.
It all started one morning.
The sun was shining brightly on the clear blue sky. Jonathan was carrying two pails of water. A man near his age came with him to fetch water from a deep well about five minutes away from the small village.
"The bus rarely stops by here. You should have considered staying in a different place," the man said. Jonathan has been doing his best, trying to ask more details about this place. They did not have much money left and they needed food to survive, which was why he was working even right now.
In order for him and Stefani to return safely to the city, one needed to act and interact nicely with the people in this strange place. His business-minded attitude, practical mindset and hardworking hands were what got Jonathan into a high position at his work anyway so using them would be beneficial for their current situation.
"How rare does the bus come by? How do you go to the city?" Jonathan was still trying to squeeze more information as much as he could from the man as they walked back to the houses.
"No one really knows what day exactly it comes, it just comes in random once a week," the man explained. He stopped for a while, taking a break so did Jonathan. "Ah, but if you're lucky, Mr. Ten will take you to the nearest town here. That town has a cellular signal and more buses."
"Mr. Ten?"  Jonathan inquired.
"He's one of the oldest residents here. He owns a mini truck that's used in transporting vegetables and fruits from here," the man looked over the plantation of radishes, seeing a group of little boys running around on it. "You can come down first," he said to Jonathan then started walking to the radish field, his eyebrows knitted in anger. "Hey! Stop playing there! I told you many times not to play here, you stupid brats!"
The sound of the children giggling and playing along with the birds chirping echoed around. The wind was cool and felt good against the skin. The sun was high and smiling down the grassy areas. It looked peaceful here. Everywhere you look, there is nature. The place was clearly not touched by any form of advanced technology at all.
Jonathan smiled. It looked as if they were just having a vacation, or more like a kind of unique field trip. If he could remember it right, Stefani wanted to go on trips such as this.
"Eeeekkkk!!!!"
Or... maybe not.
"Aaaaaahhhh!!!"
A scream resonated the field like it did last night. A few of the farmers looked over a certain field where baby carrots were currently being planted.
