Chapter 43 Bonus - Stefani's Cake

"We graduated but why does it feel like I'm more restrained now? Is college really hellish like this?" Bridget complained as she aggressively took big sips from her milk tea then began typing back on her laptop.
Ivy rolled her eyes and commented, "It's because you took a hard major. Look at Dianne, Christina, and me. We enjoy our activities the most these days. It's like we're still in high school~"
"Right, we're having a theater play in a few months. Don't forget to free your schedules on that date," Christina said, then began eating the strawberry cake on her plate.
"What? That's unfair!" Bridget pouted. While these girls were busy arranging some stage props, here she was typing some five-page essay for tomorrow. Such injustice!
After graduation, the circle of friends had indeed become busy preparing for their college entrance exams. Bridget and Stefani decided to take majors relating to business management since they were bound to inherit their family businesses in the future. Christina, Dianne, and Ivy, on the other hand, freely chose their desired majors and went for entertainment and media arts.
Although this was the case, they were all still studying in the same university and that was all that mattered for the group of friends.
"By the way, where's Stefani?" Dianne asked suddenly, noticing their friend missing.
"Oh, she's busy with a group project or something. She said she won't see us for a while," Bridget explained then sipped on her tea again. "But we'll be both free by the weekend. Where do you guys want to hang out?"
It seemed this girl still did not lose her touch despite having some difficulties in her studies.
"I heard there's a newly opened sweets shop nearby, should we check it out?" Ivy suggested.
"Sweets again? Ivy, sometimes I worry you'll have tooth decay one of these days," Dianne commented, shaking her head.
"What? Stef also likes sweets, who doesn't like sweets anyway?" Ivy pouted and defended her choice.
"Oh, right. Didn't Stef try making that cake for her husband before?" Bridget suddenly mentioned.
Ivy nodded, "Yes, remembering it now actually makes me feel..." she felt goosebumps all over her body.
Even Dianne scrunched her nose at the sudden memory. That cooking cake event was indeed too horrifying to remember. These girls believed no one would be able to defeat Stefani in terms of bad cooking.
It was about a week before Jonathan's birthday when Stefani decided to bake a cake for him. This idea was actually suggested by the girls themselves but never had they cursed themselves to death the moment Stefani finished that damn cake.
They still remembered what Stefani looked like back then.
"Anyone wanna taste it? I think it's still missing something though... I wonder what it is," Stefani asked them with a frown, pondering hard as she stared at the cake she just finished baking.
SHe was carrying a plate where a sliced cake was put on. The slice wasn't even done in a good way, but that wasn't the problem, what was troubling about it was the color of the cake!
The moment they saw its greenish to blackish color that resembled shit, the girls definitely felt like puking. Luckily, they managed to hold back and one of them said, "S-Stef... H-How about buying a cake instead? We can practice baking again next time."
Because she thought there was something missing with her work, Stefani frowned and said in defeat, "Okay."

Nobody knew what happened to that cake afterwards and the girls didn't dare ask anymore.
Suddenly, Christina chuckled, capturing everyone's attention. There was a glint in her eyes as she spoke, "You guys probably haven't heard this yet, but would you believe me if I say I actually witnessed someone eat it?"
Everyone's eyes widened in shock. "No way!"
"Someone can actually eat that? I don't believe you, Chris!"
"Yeah, stop joking around! As if someone would eat that... You need to get your eyes checked."
Christina rolled her eyes, "My eyes are perfectly fine. Anyway, that day when we're about to leave, remember my stomach was aching. I had to go to the toilet plenty of times, remember?"
"Eww, do you really have to mention that?" Bridget scrunched her nose in disgust.
Christina ignored her and said, "Remember that time we still don't know the corners of Stef and Gonzalez's house that much yet?"
"Yeah, we used to get lost during our first week," Ivy commented, remembering the times they would often get lost in Jonathan and Stefani's newly bought house. It was too big that even rich kids like these girls would get lost on their first few visits.
"Yes. While you guys were in the living room at that time with Stefani, I actually went to one of the comfort rooms. I thought I could go there on my own and did not ask anyone to accompany me but alas, I still got lost!" Christina's storytelling was amazing, with more facial expressions, she said, "I continued walking and walking... Until I reached the balcony near the kitchen."
"There's a balcony near the kitchen?" Bridget raised an eyebrow.
"You walked until you got out? Just how long were you walking?" Dianne asked.
Christina inhaled and exhaled a bunchful of air, "I walked for a long time! A really looong time, okay but that is not the point." Her face became serious again, "When I reached the balcony, I saw that cake."
The girls gasped.
Dianne asked, "T-That cake... I-It survived?" Why didn't it get thrown immediately in the trash can?!
Christina nodded, "Yes, unfortunately, it did survive. Not only that, the cake managed to stay intact. There's still half of the original cake that Stefani baked."
"Oh my god," Bridget exclaimed. "Just what happened? Someone took it out? For what purposes did they do this?!" What evil man could do something to get that cake alive and let it out freely?
Christina cleared her throat, "That time... Before I took a closer look at that cake, I heard footsteps nearing. I felt there would be misunderstandings so I hid from a nearby post."
Everyone gulped at this sudden thrilling scene. Christina wore a very serious expression as she said, "A maid suddenly arrived, and she's carrying a tray... and on that tray, there are two objects. A plate and a fork."
Everyone's eyes widened.
"S-She couldn't be..." Dianne almost trembled as she spoke.
Christina, this extremely amazing storyteller, shook her head slowly and solemnly said, "She placed the plate and fork on the table, where the cake was sitting prettily at. After that... she left."
At this, everyone frowned. One of them couldn't help but ask, "She just left? Then what are the plate and fork for?"
Christina gave her a look and said, "Another while later, when I was about to come out from my hiding place, I heard another set of footsteps."
Ivy had a hand on her mouth, her eyes still wide as she said, "The one who...?"
Christina glanced at Ivy and nodded, "That's correct. It's the person who ate the cake."
Everyone gasped. They couldn't believe someone really had the guts to eat that poisonous-looking food. No matter how one sees it, it looks shit!
Bridget gulped down and asked, "Did you... Did you see their face?"
"No..." Christina answered regretfully, frowning, "I was hiding and couldn't see who did it from my angle... But I heard the sound of the fork and plate..."
The girls exchanged looks with their horrified expressions.
Christina looked so serious, squinting a bit as if trying hard to remember all the details of that one memory, "When that person left, I turned to look at the cake and it's..." Her face paled as she recalled the scene.
"It's all gone. That person, whoever they are, managed to eat the entire cake."
The girls almost screamed at this horrifying revelation. Whoever dared to eat and finish that disgusting food was not human! Not human at all!
