Chapter 37 Bonus - Few Months of Dating; The Girl Who Never Stood A Chance

Months before the wedding.
Stefani barged inside Jonathan's room with a frown.
"Did you have another nightmare?" Jonathan looked at her in concern.
Stefani shook her head, still with a frown. "I-I.. I don't think I can sleep tonight."
Jonathan nodded his head. He already knew after the movie, Stefani would be too scared to sleep on her own.
"That's why I told you you can sleep here with me," Jonathan said nonchalantly, eyes still in his book. When he heard nothing from the younger, he placed his book down then motioned the younger to come to space next to him.
Stefani blushed hard and started yelling. "L-Like I would do that!! You pervert!"
With that, Stefani turned around and headed out. Jonathan sighed and continued reading his book. A smile playing on his face as he counted to ten and his door was opening by then.
"I-I'm only doing this for tonight! And don't you dare do anything dirty!" Stefani said with a blush, now slowly moving towards Jonathan's bed and lying down beside him.
"I don't like dirty," Jonathan replied as he placed his book on the bedside table. Stefani was already lying and back facing him beside him.
"That's good then! Well that's it, good ni-"
Stefani's words were cut off as her face was turned around by Jonathan's hands, only to capture her soft, sweet lips. Her eyes went wide, her whole body trembled as she could feel how soft and full Jonathan's lips were against hers.
"This isn't considered dirty, is it, my wife?" Jonathan teasingly said after pulling away and stared at Stefani's red face.
"Y-You-!!" Stefani started hitting Jonathan's chest, trying to push him away but Jonathan only smiled and hugged her tighter.
"Yeah, yeah, I know I'm horrible. Now go to sleep," Jonathan softly said as he patted Stefani's head still while hugging her, his eyes slowly shutting close.
"Y-You're the worst..." Stefani muttered, her hands gripping on Jonathan's clothes.
"I know." Jonathan smiled with eyes closed.
"I hate you..." Stefani's hands gripped harder, her body scooting closer to Jonathan’s.
"I know." Jonathan smiled even more, hugging Stefani tighter with satisfaction on his face.
Soon, the two fell asleep, lying comfortably in each others' arms.
Some people’s love needs words to know its real meaning. Some just need actions. And just like what Mr. Hernandez says, the person who hates too much is the person who loves too much.
In a world full of hate, let our hate be the most loveable of all.
"By the way, why do you always wear a hoodie or a thick sweater? You're always covered like a dumpling."
"Well, Rose told me to cover my skin as much as possible when I'm here.. She said it's for my own safety. She said it could provoke something not right for my age yet."
"What?" Jonathan could feel his cheeks heating up and so he hugged Stefani tighter. He was annoyed at the fact that he was the reason for such a thing.
Women really are scary. One moment they smile at you and act sweet, but once you turn around, they think of you as a pervert.
Though Rose was right about that a bit. There were days Jonathan wanted to do more than kissing with Stefani but he knew the younger needed time to be prepared for that kind of thing. Jonathan, being the logical and gentleman that he was, chose to wait. For how long he would need to wait, however, that he didn't know.
Jonathan sighed, helpless in his thoughts, as he wrapped Stefani even tighter in his arms.
"I-I don't understand her myself! I don't mind changing though-" Stefani muttered.
"No."
"But- Why not?" Stefani shot her head up and frowned at Jonathan. Something was off and Stefani, Stefani was curious.
Jonathan pulled Stefani's head back against his chest so she wouldn't see his face.
"Just because. Now sleep," Jonathan ordered, pushing the adult thoughts away from his mind.
Some love needs you to endure, too.

Bonus - The Girl Who Never Stood A Chance
Ari's heart pounded loudly as her back felt the cold brick wall behind her. The four strange bitchy looking girls in high school uniform looked at her in disgust. One girl chewed her gum and mannerlessly spit it out to her right.
Are they a gang or what? Ari began to panic.
"Look here, Miss. That Gonzalez guy is engaged." Ari gasped in shock. Is Jonathan Gonzalez really engaged? With whom?
Another girl stepped in and looked at Ari in pity.
"Pitiful. I bet you've tried seducing Gonzalez a lot of times.. and failed," they all laughed in mockery and Ari's chest twisted in pain.
"Y-You're wrong! My feelings for him are pure! I-I.. I've always liked Sir Jonathan. Even if he always looks serious but he's approachable and nice," Ari tried to defend herself.
The girls made a "what is this woman talking about" face recalling what Jonathan's beast mode looked like. But Ari continued, "Even if he doesn't talk a lot... I can see how hardworking and independent he is! I really admire that about him!"
Ari was blushing hard as she said her confession and the four high school girls looked at one another and shook their heads.
"You haven't seen Gonzalez's other sides, yet, girl," Bridget said and shook her head. She could still remember how Jonathan would easily get mad when Stefani forgets to tell him her shopping schedule or when Stefani comes home late, or how Jonathan would easily agree to Stefani's requests or how Jonathan would patiently eat Stefani's cooking despite them looking poisonous.
"Yeah. And don't even dream about having to know all those sides, because that guy only shows those things to his lovely wife," Ivy added more pain to Ari.
Ari's tears were beginning to fall and trickle down her cheeks.
"D-Does he.. does he really love her?" Ari asked after a sniff, tears continued to fall from her eyes.
"Not just love, he's completely obsessed with his wife," Dianne added even more, tearing Ari's heart into pieces.
Christina chewed her gum as she walked closer until she's in front of a sobbing mess Ari.
"Miss, it's best for you to move on. Don't even try to steal that guy again from our friend. Our friend may be harsh towards Gonzalez, but she dearly loves him and shows it in her own special way. You may not be able to understand this like us, but those two have an unbreakable bond.. They've been separated for ten years, but remained in love with each other. What I'm saying is, you don't even have a .1% chance to win Gonzalez here. Cause right from the start, he's taken and he's chosen that himself."
Dianne, Bridget, and Ivy were too shocked at their friend's sudden lines. Just where did she get all of these?
"He's super loyal to his wife so back off now, okay?" Bridget added, still acting bitchy and ready to attack Ari. She clearly didn’t want Stefani to be stressing about this woman, if she could, she'd have this woman kidnapped and thrown overseas.
Dianne grabbed Bridget's arm, stopping her from her thoughts and execution ideas.
Ari let out a sob as tears fell from her eyes like a waterfall. She didn't know her boss was engaged, and furthermore, in love with his own fiancee. Maybe if she confessed earlier, she might have a chance..
"They've been separated for ten years, but remained in love with each other."
"We.. We haven't really seen each other for years, ten years to be exact. So if possible, I'd like to spend more time with her. I'd like to be more with Stefani, Sir."

Ten years..
Remained in love..
Stefani..
Finally, Ari put two and two together. The day she went to Jonathan's condo when he was sick, Stefani also came over. And that time when Jonathan was in a meeting and Stefani suddenly came barging in and dragging Jonathan outside like a dog and Jonathan just let her... (he actually didn't, Ari's just torturing herself) Plus the way Jonathan got suddenly emotional when he was talking to Mr. Hernandez in his office...
"I-It's.. Mr. Hernandez's daughter, Stefani Hernandez?"
The four high school girls looked at each other and with a smile faced Ari back and nodded.
"Yeah. She's the wife. The one and only, beloved, precious, gorgeous wife of Jonathan Gonzalez."
Ari's tears streamed down like waterfalls. So her crush has someone else now. Ari had lost the game. But was she even a player?
Ari's heart broke. So she went home knowing at least her sister will be waiting for her there.
"Oh Ari, you're home?"
Ari looked at her sister and started crying once again, "Big sister!!"
Veronica held Ari in her arms, "What happened, Ari?"
"Sir... Sir Gonzalez... Sir Gonzalez is taken, Big sis!! Uwaaaah!" Ari exclaimed while bawling her eyes out.
Ari's older sister, Veronica, felt something was strange. It felt as if this had already happened a long time ago. But she couldn't point it out. What she only knew was their family has bad luck on romance. It was really unfair but she felt she couldn't do anything about it.
"In another life, you'll have your Sir Gonzalez, okay?" Veronica said, trying to comfort her younger sister.
But she herself knew her sentence would never happen.
Weird but she just knew it.
