Chapter 27
FREYA
To sight my view is like a paradise. Between this road I could see the mountains and the sea. The right side was filled with trees, mountains that fascinates me to look at. And on the left side, I could see the sea— dazzling by the reflection of the sun, mesmerizing this view. Beauty of nature is incredible and there's no doubt about that.
It was perfect— beyond perfect.
I was roaming around side by side to look at the view. "I can't miss those scenery. It's so beautiful,'' I cried dramatically.
I heard Padzul laughing, "What a child," he said. I frowned at hearing those words.
"Me? A child? Excuse me. I'm an adult already. Hmph!" I murmured and rolled my eyes at him. I saw him in the rear view mirror when Padzul was smirking.
"You're not a child. But acting like a child," he teases.
"No comment. By the way, where are we going?" I wondered. It seems that we are riding for too long. And I don't even know where exactly a resort was located. "Are you sure that we are still going that far?" I asked Padzul. He smiled and nodded.
"Maybe? But we're near already. We're about to go to Raven's rest house," Padzul answered. Literally, my jaw dropped at what he said and my eyes widened in shock. I looked at Raven who was silent the whole ride. Maybe he knows that we're not on good terms.
"Does he have one? Ohh. T-that's good. Why did you decide to come along with me again?" I'm trying to ask Raven but looking at Padzul. I noticed Raven was looking at the rear view mirror and I smiled at him.
He averted his gaze and looked outside the car's window. I pout when he wants to ignore me.
If that's what he wants then I should do it.
I didn't bother to talk and looked outside the window, wondering if Aunty could be here. Is she going to be happy? I feel saddened that we wouldn't be able to go there again. I remember what she said before. "If I have plenty of money. I would build a house nearby at the beach. You know, Freya. Being here is a place where you can calm at ease. No worries and you're thinking about yourself being free from a place like this." That's what I remember.
I sighed.
"Are you okay?" I heard Padzul. I looked at the driver's seat and saw who he was referring to. And that's me.
I nod, "yes. Yes. I'm okay," I uttered.
He didn't say anything and that made me smile. While waiting for us to go to Raven's rest house. I'm patiently waiting until I saw a huge place where it's like a resort. Padzul stopped his car in front of that gate, which made me frown in confusion.
Padzul looked at me, "we're here," he announced. My eyes widened to see how huge Raven's rest house was. I was looking at Raven and he was still quiet the whole time. I forgot that I shouldn't talk about him.
Since he doesn't want to talk to me.
The gate opened and I was frantically shocked. "Is this automatic?" I wondered and Padzul drove over inside. Like I've said, Raven's rest house is perfect to describe. There's a trace of road in the alley where it was surrounded by coconut trees. "Wow! This is impressive," I mouthed while mesmerizing this place. Then after he pulled the car to park somewhere I saw a huge house— no. A mansion was built here.
"Freya. Let's go out? Shall we?" I heard Padzul say and go out.
Raven was still quiet and instantly opened the door and went outside. I was left here alone by cleaning the car's seat when I left what I've eaten a while ago. I was holding it when the door opened. I looked and Raven appeared. "Let that thing there. I'll have someone clean that later. Come out here and you'll see the beach," he said.
I was extremely excited and get outside. Raven gave me space and thanked him. He smiled a little and nodded to respond. As I walk. I feel the grass on my feet. So far, to feel this.
"Freya," I heard Padzul's voice. I avert my eyes and see him waving his hand to come to him. I nod and run towards him. "I'll show you the beach," he said and there's a hint of his voice that he was excited also.
"You and Raven . . . Both of you are not always here?" I tried to ask him as we went around Raven's rest house. "Why is this place so huge? When you don't go here always?" I added.
But Padzul shook his head. "There's a reason for that but let's see how beautiful the beach is here. Even Raven brought its property so that no one will ever be able to get here," Padzul explained. While we're walking I saw how beautiful the beach was. It was clean— a crystal blue . . . And the smell of the sea. Too salty but it was refreshing. "You know. Even I know Raven that much. But he doesn't go there at all. But something changed about him," Padzul said.
My attention was to him. "Huh? Then who is living in this place? Why is it so clean?" I asked.
"Maybe, Raven hired people here to take care of this property. He treasures this place," Padzul answered.
I was amazed at what he said. My mouth circled as he talked about Raven's past life. I looked back and saw Raven holding my bag. And I remember that I left it in the car. I ran to Raven. "Why are you still holding it?" I asked and tried to get that as I got near beside him.
He pulled my bag and instantly walked inside the house. "This man!" I was annoyed and followed him instead.
We got inside and my mouth was oozing how pleasing this place is. There are people who are cleaning this and some of the things are covered in white sheets to prevent dust.
"Oh! Raven. I didn't know you'll be here," someone said. Raven smiled a little.
