Chapter 22 Lay pov

"Lay, lend me some money. I'll pay you back; I just want to buy ice cream!" He's been pestering me about it.
"I thought you had a lot of stock?"
"It ran out,"
"How much do you need?"
"Just 10k, I'll pay it back right away!" I almost choked on what I was eating because of what he said. We're currently in the cafeteria. I even gave the guy a light slap.
"Ouch!"
"10k? Just for buying chocolate?"
"Yeah, sometimes I spend 20k. It's for my stock as well."
"Forget it, I don't have that much money to lend you!"
"I'll pay it back, I know you have money. So, just lend me!"
"I can only lend you 500 pesos, my allowance is just a thousand, right? Dad hasn't even given it to me yet." The other day, my allowance was reduced because of the girl who came to the house. She just caused a scene, and Dad found out I'm a ladies' man, so he cut my monthly allowance by 5k. So, I need to be thrifty, except when we have a fight, so we can have extra money.
"You're so stingy, and yet, girls still like you!"
"I'm lending you money, and you're still complaining!" I said, slapping him again.
"You're going overboard, you've slapped me twice already. The next slap will cost you!"
"Damn you!"
"Shut up, both of you..." Ice said, she always says that. Our nonsense stopped when my phone rang. I quickly checked it and grinned at what I read.
"Five street Abandoned Building, 9 pm, go there, we'll get back at you!" They want revenge, huh?
"The Levon Gang sent a text; they said they'll get back at us. They want us to go to the Five Street Abandoned Building at 9 pm." I said.
"Are they serious about this? Maybe they're planning something again." Clarence questioned.
"What? Decide, are we going to confront them?" I looked at all of them.
"I'm in, this is exciting!" Clarnce said enthusiastically. The other two seemed lost in their thoughts. They just nodded, meaning we'll face them later.
"Lay, Clarnce, check out the place later. They might have something sneaky planned again." Shadow suggested. This group is known for being cheaters, but it doesn't work on us. I just nodded and grinned; they probably think they can outsmart us, well... wishful thinking.
At 8:40 pm, we're getting ready for our match later. We're already at the designated location for our fight tonight. We arrived earlier to check it out, fearing they might have done something shady again.
"They're taking forever," Lay complained.
"Wait, it's almost 9 pm," I replied.
"They're the ones inviting, yet they're not here yet. My hands are itching!" Even I'm excited about the fight; it's been a while since we had one.
"Quiet down, your hands will itch to punch you..." Ice retorted, seemingly uninterested in the upcoming brawl.
----
Exactly at 9 pm, we exited the car and entered the abandoned building, but they still weren't there. We've been waiting for a while; it seems like they have no intention of showing up.
"Maybe they chickened out!" Lay grumbled.
"Where are they? They're taking so long," I asked, sensing they might be hiding here.
"Let's go, we're just wasting time here. If they don't want to come, we can't force them," Shadow suggested.
"Wait, let's give them a bit more time," Lay insisted.
"Seems like they have no plans of coming," Ice said.
"If I see their members, I'll definitely beat those idiots!" Lay exclaimed, disappointed because she was excited.
----
The leader of their group, Levon, suddenly appeared when it was 9 pm. "Oh? Leaving already? Are you scared?" he asked, grinning at us.
"No one in our group is scared!" I replied, smiling back at them.
"Really? Why did it seem like you were leaving earlier?"
"We thought you chickened out and chose not to come."
"You guys are boring," Ice remarked.
"Fu*k you, we won't back down. We'll get back at you for what you did to us!" our leader declared, raising his hand. Their group emerged, almost 40+, while we were only four. I knew something shady was going on; their original members were only four, and now they've multiplied. They even had baseball bats and pipes. Do they intend to kill us?
"What's this? Cheating again?" Lay asked. "Don't you have the strength to face us fair and square?" she added.
"You guys are cowards. There are only four of us, and there are so many of you," I said. We looked at each other; if Shadow shook his head, we'd retreat. But if he nodded, we'd fight. To my surprise, both Shadow and Ice nodded.
"Bro, can we handle this?" I whispered to Shadow.
"Yeah... looks like they don't plan on letting us go. We have no choice," because our leader said we would fight, there was no turning back.
"Have you decided to retreat?" their leader taunted.
"We won't back down; we're not cowards like you. You're just brave because you have more people!" Lay retorted.
"Good luck. If you manage to get out of here alive tonight, I'll make sure the Evil Gang ends tonight!" Levon declared.
"Tsk, too much talk. Let's start already; I'm getting bored with you!" Ice said.
The fight began; many of them rushed towards me. I was about to be hit by a baseball bat when a guy attacked me. Luckily, I managed to dodge, even though they had weapons. I shouted when I got hit on the shoulder with a pipe. I punched the guy who attacked me and took the pipe, hitting him with it.
"Clarence, are you okay?" Lay asked.
"I'm fine, baby Lay!" I shouted back, managing to make a joke.
"You idiot! Get yourself together! Damn it!" Lay laughed at my response.
Several minutes passed, and there were still many of them. We managed to take down many, but I was starting to feel tired. While I was fighting one guy, another hit me from behind. I felt dizzy and fell; then, the opponents had the chance to gang up on me. I couldn't do anything but accept their punches and hits. Damn, is this the end for us? I saw Lay, beaten but still trying to fight for the group. Shadow and Ice, I knew they were struggling too. Sorry, I have no strength left to fight.
"Clarence, Lay!" Shadow called out to us. I couldn't speak, just accepting their attacks.
"Die..." one guy said and hit me on the head with a baseball bat. I felt dizzy until darkness slowly consumed me.
Third-person POV:
Ice and Shadow are still fighting, while Lay and Clarence have already fallen, unconscious. Ice didn't notice someone approaching her; he hit her, making her stumble. Shadow is the only one left, trying his best to fight, but they're overwhelming.
"What about you, Shadow? Can you still handle this?" their leader asked with a grin.
"Fu*k!" Shadow cursed as he got hit with a baseball bat.
"I thought you said you could handle us? You act tough, but if you surrendered earlier, maybe no one would get hurt," one of them said.
"B*stard! Are you a saint?"
"I'm easy to talk to. Any last words, Shadow?"
"Just kill me, stop the chatter..." Shadow said, accepting that this might be the end for him.
"Goodbye!" Levon said with a demonic grin, about to pull the trigger when suddenly...
