Chapter 44: Hustling.
Waking up the next morning, it was quite bright into the day already, I checked my stuff and saw that they were still kept the way I left them. I'm running out of cash and I have to find work today or else, I am going to be left with nothing much, the least of what I have can serve me is until tomorrow, after then, I will have to live with nothing. I began my quest for the day, looking for a gym house that I can work in. Not that the gym is my only option to find work, but because it will help my economic issues, I can get to sleep there with a good proper reasoning with the owner, I can get paid too for my work and that will help me provide food and clothing for myself, I can get to become a fitness coach too where I can possibly be getting few cash on top of my payments and also I can stay in shape always by hitting the gym for free rather than paying for my hours like the others, so many advantages if I get to work in the Gym. It's noon already am the situation is getting frustrating, the distances are always far from the other, I have been walking all day and have decided to get some rest. I went into the restaurant nearby to get myself some food for lunch, it's getting itchy in my tummy. I was almost done eating when my eyes met a notification board, I have been looking around as I eat but it was now that my eyes landed on hope and grabbing it is my only option. It was written GYM FOR SALE, there was a number written below to contact the owner, I wrote down the number in my contact and made the call across. I called to meet him, he possibly might be expecting a transaction about the gym, but I had something else in mind, something I am fighting for. His name was Ryan, Mr Ryan, he told me where I can find him, with the help of the people I asked for directions, I saw myself standing in front of a local gym which looks really old, I went in and saw the empty and dusty environment, the machines were there, but doesn't look much, by the spaces inside the hall, you can tell that most of them has been sold off. “ Hello Mr Ryan....”, I greeted immediately I recognized the face he sent me. The conversation took hours and it wasn't going in my favor, 10x the opposite actually, I was now the one pleading, begging for this chance, knees on the floor begging him to trust me with this. I wasn't asking him to gift me the gym for free, that's not possible, who can even ask for such favor?, All I was begging him for was to sell the gym to me and I will make sure to make payments weekly until I met his asking price. I never negotiated, I wasn't eligible to, not with the kind of favor I was asking, instead I agreed with the asking price he mentioned and was now pleading for him to gift me this opportunity that I can turn the tiles around. His physical looks showed that he wasn't interested in working out, much like he never did before, just handling the gym only for business purposes, just by the looks of everything, I believe that I can turn all this around in no time, this is the life I saw immediately I left the Orphanage, my experience has been around the gym and I believe that I can make something out of it by the level of experience I have achieved so far. He told me that he can't agree with the option, he said he was leaving the City with his brother and family and has no plans of returning, so the chances of accepting my terms was 0%, even if he was staying in the City, the chances are slick, he can't accept to go on with such deal. I totally understood him, I am not blaming him for the rejection, instead I have to go back in searching for work rather than thinking that such an option like this can be grabbed with my pleas. It was a heart broken night, I was now renting another motel for the night which happened to charge more than the last one, putting me in a position where my remaining cash won't be enough for me for tomorrow. Now I have realized that Life with Uncle Dale was really a gift, I know that Life was hard, but I have never realized that there's more to it than I know of, I have always thought that Life being hard was about me living in the Orphanage with no real parents or biological relations, but now have I realized that the opportunity we get to eat at the Orphanage daily was a blessing, there's more to hard life than I ever thought of, it was never a piece of cake, it has never been. I opened my phone gallery again as I began to look at the pictures, how had it really gone?, It would have been a beautiful day enjoying Prom with my classmates, but right now, I lost Jackie, I lost Prom experience, I lost my graduation, I lost my family and lastly, I have lost the freedom I once thought I had because I was under Uncle Dale's protection. I can feel the tears coming down my eyes, the emotions pure and full of pain and sadness, with those teary eyes, I kept on scrolling until I saw her picture, she was looking back at me with a wide smile on her face, yet looking down trying not to meet my gaze even in the photo, Jackie. I knelt down and prayed, I never know what or where I am going through in this stage of life, but all I request for is his guidance, to always look down on me and show me the way, that's when my phone rang, who has my New number?.
