Chapter 107: Desert Serpent

In the midst of anger, Angelet drew his sword and thrust it forward.
"Keng!!"
The assailant lunged, wielding a dagger and forcefully driving it into the blade, creating a sharp, piercing sound.
Angelet roared, exerting force and pressing the dagger firmly against the opponent's face.
At the same time, a red light emanated from the sword blade.
Immediately penetrating the head of the shadowy figure.
The dagger suddenly lost its strength to resist.
Angelet swung the sword downward.
With a scornful smile, the metallic sound cut through the air in this confined space, resonating sharply.
The leader on the side, still arrogantly laughing, suddenly changed color.
He turned to escape but suddenly felt a sharp pain in his legs.
"Ahhh!! My legs!!"
He screamed in agony and fell to the ground.
On the shins of both legs, a small bloodstain slowly oozed from a side tear.
Angelet kicked him in anger.
The figure in front staggered to the side, the pungent scent of blood filling the air. After struggling a few times, he slowly ceased movement.
"Even Kandilin..." The voice of a thug behind also trembled.
Angelet remained silent, turning towards the front with a step, using the sword to strike through.
With two cries, blood appeared on the necks of the two thugs trying to escape, and they both fell to the ground simultaneously.
"Do you still want to run?! You destroyed my Dragon Scale Flower, and you still want to run?!" A green light flashed in his eyes, green veins rising on his forehead, looking extremely fierce.
The two injured thugs outside, carrying their wounded companion, heard the commotion inside and realized the situation was not good, so they fled a distance.
Angelet bent down to pick up two daggers from the hands of the two thugs.
"Target locked, adjusting forces... Adjusting parabolic throw direction..."
Hearing the chip's voice, a convergence of bright green dots focused on the two escaping figures within Angelet's sight.
"The target has been securely locked."
Angelet swung his arm forcefully.
Amidst the ruthless wind, the two daggers spun and flew, stabbing into the clothes of the two people.
The thugs screamed and fell to the ground, their bodies convulsing. The two daggers hit the nerve area of the spine; unless something unexpected happened, they would be paralyzed for life if not dead.
Then Angelet turned to look at the leader lying on the ground, retreating in madness. In the meantime, he used the sword to stab the unconscious gangster, then placed the bloodied blade on the neck of the leader.
"No! You can't kill me!! You can't!!"
Sweat and mucus mixed on the leader's face, making it indistinguishable.
"Are you not after something called the Dragon Scale Flower? That thing is actually fake! Fake!"
"Huh?" Angelet was slightly startled.
"Fake?"
He approached, grabbing the collar of the leader.
"You say it again."
The leader, at this point, clearly saw the radiant blue color in Angelet's eyes and suddenly felt a chilling fear.
"I am from the Desert Serpent, you... you can't kill me!" He stammered.
The green light in Angelet's eyes dimmed, and as he got closer, he couldn't smell the distinctive scent of dragon scales from the leader. The anger in his heart suddenly turned into a ray of hope.
"Where is the Dragon Scale Flower really?" He asked solemnly.
"I am just a low-ranking member of the Desert Serpent... I really don't know..." Cold sweat appeared on the leader's face one after another.
He knew that once the person in front became dissatisfied, in a moment, he would turn into a corpse just like the one lying in front of the door.
Thinking about this, he quickly spoke again.
"Moreover, noble witch, here, I also have Dragon Scale Flowers... do you want them?"
Angelet was stunned. "Here?"
"These are in the chest in my bedroom, there are plenty of them..." The leader dared not play tricks.
Angelet narrowed his eyes, tossing the leader aside.
He entered the bedroom.
A dilapidated wooden bed, a dark and damp floor, corners filled with spiderwebs, and a musty smell in the air.
Angelet found a small gray iron chest near the window.
The chest was open, filled with what was called Dragon Scale Flowers.
He walked up with a solemn face, knelt down, and took out a flower.
When held, it was soft, and a different fragrance emanated from it.
Black petals, white flower wings, but the shape was slightly different from dragon scales; the edges of dragon scale petals were sharp, while this one was just a regular curved shape.
"Not real..." Angelet felt regret, but also a bit of self-reproach. If all these flowers were real, how much benefit would he gain? It was beyond imagination.
"Comparing data... Similar material: Lizard flowers." The chip provided an answer.
He searched through the box again and found that it was filled with these, with nothing else.
Complete disappointment finally appeared on Angelet's face.
He stood up and turned out of the room.
Ignoring the leader still shaking on the ground, he looked at the shadow that had attacked him earlier.
He walked up, knelt down, and immediately saw the true appearance of this shadow.
A thin man in black clothes, bald head with a black scarf, deep sunken eyes, and strangely grayish-green skin.
It resembled the color of mold, growing in patches.
On the dead body's neck, there was a deep wound almost severing his head.
Angelet frowned, carefully observing the corpse and discovering a small tightly-bound leather bag on the side, a small brown bag swollen as if containing something.
He reached out to untie it, undoing the knot.
Inside were some gold coins, some silver coins, and a small golden paper ball.
He took out the paper ball and opened it.
There were some lines written on it in Angmaric.
'On the evening of the 18th... in the dense forest... when the Holy Spirit of the Sun disappears...'
Below it was a red, blood-like dagger.
Angelet's face darkened.
"It seems to be the action plan of an organization, using fake dragon scale flowers as bait and the power of assassins to kill people. Just didn't expect to encounter me. No wonder these people, when asked about the Dragon Scale Flower, answered so quickly."
"Lizard flowers and Dragon Scale Flowers are somewhat similar, but the former is just a small ordinary flower that can be found everywhere, while the latter is a top-grade resource treasure."
