Chapter 108: Analysis

"The synthetic scent on the Thorn Lizard flower is so well-made that even a careful inspection by a chip wouldn't detect it," Angelet sketched out the situation in his mind.
"Even an ordinary perfume maker could create this fragrance..." he disappointedly stood up.
"You guys didn't just plan this in this place, did you?" He looked at the only surviving leader.
"Yes... yes, there are over ten locations near the city. From what I know, there are many places..." The leader hastily nodded.
"Unexpectedly meeting you here, sir."
Angelet tossed the paper ball aside.
"Attacks of this scale aren't aimed at the wealthy, right?" The leader suddenly showed some discomfort and regret on his face.
"You guessed it right; this time, it was just my spontaneous decision..."
Angelet coldly laughed and said, "I don't care about your business. Tell me where the Dragon Scale Flower really is. Moreover, why could the men in black hide so well just now?"
Ten minutes later...
When Angelet stepped out of the area, there was no one around. The lingering smell of blood from the fierce battle and ruthless killing made people nearby flee.
He raised his hand to look at the object in his hand, revealing a satisfied expression on his face.
It was a small, slightly yellowed scroll.
It was handed over by the leader before he died.
It documented a mystical method of concealing breath similar to the method used by the Desert Serpent assassin just now.
"Didn't expect it to be the revenge action of the Desert Serpent, but this has nothing to do with me. Although I didn't get the Dragon Scale Flower this time, with this, it's still considered a good harvest."
Angelet carefully stored the scroll, tucking it into his belt.
"Warning! Warning! A large number of humanoid creatures are approaching. Please prepare immediately. The distance is 150 meters... 148 meters... 145 meters..." The reminder sound of the chip suddenly echoed.
Angelet's face darkened slightly, and he looked around.
The shadow of people quickly entered a nearby alley and disappeared into the darkness.
More than ten seconds later, a group of city guards gathered in front of the house. These guards wore red and white leather armor, most of them were sturdy, and running looked cumbersome and difficult.
Only the two leading figures had a bit of sharpness.
Both of them wore full-body silver metallic armor, with a short war mace and a cross-shaped sword hanging from their belts.
"This is the place," the man with the war mace murmured.
"But it seems that someone has helped us solve the problem."
He stepped on the body of the thug on the ground, making a loud "bang," and blood splattered all over the floor.
"Let's go in and see." Another person walked in first.
"You guys follow me!" He shouted.
A few minutes later, in the room, the two leaders in silver armor sat crouched in front of the body of the man in black, looking serious.
"He came from the Desert Serpent and is a black-clothed assassin. Judging by the situation, it seems that they encountered a formidable opponent."
"Someone who can escape the sneak attack of the black-clothed assassin is definitely not an ordinary person. Moreover, I also smell a mysterious aura." Another person whispered, taking off the metallic helmet to reveal a pale green face.
His ears looked like fish fins, his skin had a pale green color, and his eyes had white pupils.
Clearly not a human.
"You are of the Sea Clan, the most sensitive to mysterious spiritual auras. If you said so, does it mean that the person the Desert Serpent provoked this time is..." The other party didn't finish speaking, but there was a hint of fear and awe in the tone.
"Perhaps. The scent I smelled thirteen years ago, when I was still a child, is still vivid in my memory."
The Sea Clan man nodded in confirmation, with a serious expression.
"It's best not to provoke this person... That's my suggestion."
"I will report to the City Guardian."
"For many years, the mysterious spiritual aura has finally appeared again." The Sea Clan stood up.
"Let's go. There are still some places that need to be dealt with. You can lead people back and report."
In the dark area behind the house.
Angelet leaned against the wall, listening to the retreating footsteps of the guards, with a pensive expression.
"Didn't expect a race like the Sea Clan to appear; it's a bit troublesome." He raised his eyebrows slightly.
"But it seems that the city guards also don't take any decisive action against my killing those people. Moreover, judging from the words of those two, it seems that they greatly admire the strength of the sorcerer."
After thinking for a while, Angelet walked along the alley, following the path he had taken before, and quickly returned to the original shop.
Entering the deserted alley, without a soul, footprints left by the thugs still remained on the ground.
The two tied-up horses had been stolen by someone, but fortunately, Angelet brought along the essential items.
Entering the shop, Angelet walked around, took off his bow, arrows, arrow bag, and bag of items, placed them in the shop, and then locked the shop door, leaving the alley.
He had earned a lot of money from those thugs, but now all the dried meat and other items had been stolen, so he had to go out and buy some food.
He happened to find a nearby pastry shop.
The glass door of the bakery was wide open, with quite a few customers coming in and out.
The copper sign outside read: Dali Bakery.
Angelet took the cross-shaped sword out from behind his back and walked in.
There was a row of white counters and seven or eight sets of tables and chairs inside the bakery.
The environment was quite clean and tidy.
Behind the counter, two or three staff members were busy handing out packaged pastries to customers in line.
The aroma of meat and scallion filling mixed with the smell of baking pastries filled the air. Angelet took a deep breath, walked to an empty table, and sat down.
The shop wasn't very crowded, with a few boys and girls walking around greeting customers.
As Angelet sat down, a little girl came over, wiping her hands on a white apron.
"Big brother, what would you like to order?"
"What do you have here?"
"Our specialty here is the meat and scallion pastry. We also have sweet sesame bread, fried buns, and vegetable buns."
The girl read out the names of the dishes clearly.
"I want a plate of meat and scallion pastry. How much is it?" Angelet asked.
"It's only two silver coins."
He took out two silver coins from his pocket and placed them in the girl's hand.
After ten minutes of waiting, Angelet's pastry was delivered.
On the round and golden pastry, finely minced meat and scallions looked very tender.
Placing it on the table, a strong and pleasant aroma filled the air.
Angelet took out a knife and fork, cut a piece, and put it in his mouth.
The crispy crust, tender and hot meat, finely chopped pork, and scallions blended together, creating a chewy, fragrant, yet not greasy bite.
The level of saltiness was just right.
After eating a few large pastries, Angelet ordered another portion, quickly finishing it without feeling full.
Approaching the counter.
At this time, customers had decreased significantly after lunchtime, and the number of customers naturally decreased.
"Sir, what can I do for you?" A staff member quickly came over to ask.
"I need your shop to deliver a plate of pastries to a designated location for me every day. Money is not an issue. Can you do that?" Angelet asked.
