The Deal

Cara felt a little nervous today. She was not quite sure she could handle the four equally powerful women who had unsettled issues like her. Although Cara is the strongest of them all, she still hasn’t reached her full potential. Once the ritual is complete, the four women will lose a little of their powers and Cara will absorb and amplify hers, making her legitimately the strongest witch that ever lived.
Again, the cabin was filled with five of the most beautiful women Ashton had ever seen in his life. However, Cara still stands out in every way possible. Honestly, he still cannot help himself but admire the woman he grew to love. He squeezed Cara’s hand and whispered to her, “You look gorgeous as always babe. You never fail to make my heart grow fonder.”
Cara gazed up at Ashton with a surprised look on her face. It was highly unlikely for him to show affection for her in front of her family, nevertheless it did not feel wrong for her. In fact, she wanted to feel this type of love for a long time and she’s not planning on backing down. Cara squeezed back Ashton’s hand and gave him a sweet smile.
“What time are we starting the ritual?” Percy asked Cara with a look of disdain in her eyes as she observed the unhinged public display of affection between Ashton and Cara.
Wendy chuckled, seeing the tension between Percy and Cara. “Why are you in a hurry, Percy?” She was gas lighting the situation.
“Why? Are you planning on having a vacation here?” Percy answered like a real rebel.
Cara tried to ignore how Percy was acting out. She sat on the couch right in the middle of the room. She took a deep breath before she replied to all the questions thrown around even before they had started a proper conversation. “Before we start the ritual, I want to address the elephant in the room.” Cara was honest.
“Oh, you found her already?” Tyra asked with a smile, as if it was the simplest thing to do for Cara.
“Yeah. But as much of a bitch as she is, we should all just act civil until we finish the ritual.” Cara lied, wanting to elicit a response from the other girls. “I can call her out right now, but I would only point my finger at her if there was no shadow of a doubt.” She paused. “We all know how our families were burned in steaks without giving them a proper way to defend themselves.” All the women turned their head down. Cara’s statement was personal to them.
“Agreed,” Wendy replied. She knows how important it is for all of them to get through the ritual without a hiccup. “So what’s on your mind, Sakalam?” She was eager to know Cara’s plan.
Cara smirked. She wanted to look confident amongst her family. “Well, first things first… would the traitor want to change her mind at this very moment? You know, as they say, speak now or forever hold your silence.” She asked them with an empathizing gaze.
The women looked at each other, waiting for anyone to flinch.
“Hmm, I guess none.” Cara nodded her head as she roamed her eyes. “Okay, now, since no one is stepping out to admit it, we can’t single out anyone right now. Do we all agree on that?” Cara asked them again.
They all agreed to her conclusion with a quiet nod.
“After the ritual, we will immediately disperse. No meet ups until the traitor is caught or the traitor changes her mind.” Cara thinks it is the only way to isolate the traitor. “We all know the traitor will reach out to our enemy after the ritual is complete, so we better be safe than sorry.” Cara was thorough in her plan.
“I have to admit that is a good plan you got there.” Celeste showed her sweet smile at Cara. “To the traitor, I hope you come to your senses before it’s too late.” She said with a tone of sincerity.
All the women agreed to Cara’s deal. After all, it was the most logical thing to do to keep the coven safe. “All right, if we all agree, then we will perform the ritual tomorrow at our altar.” Cara finally had set the date. She did not want to spend more time with the four leaders, though it was a heavy-hearted choice for her. Cara knew deep inside that doing so would make it obvious that she was not a hundred percent sure about the traitor. She stood up and looked at Ashton, who grabbed her hand as they headed to walk out of the lounge.
Percy clicked her tongue and crossed her legs as she watched the couple walk hand in hand. “Oh, is it why you are in such a hurry?” She commented with contempt.
Cara looked in Percy’s direction. “Excuse me? What is it again this time, Percy?” The irritation in Cara’s voice resonated in the lounge.
Percy sneered while she looked at Cara from head to toe. This part of Percy was new to Cara. She was nice to her before, and this aggressiveness was highly uncharacteristic for her. “Come on Cara, you know what I mean.” Percy stood up and walked towards the couple and circled around Ashton with her fingers slightly touching his shoulder. She looked at him as if she was silently objectifying him. “Your boy toy. Is he really that good in bed?” Percy was provoking Cara.
Cara shook her head and ignored Percy as it was obvious that she was just taunting her. “Please, Percy. I’m not in the mood.” Ashton and Cara attempted to walk away again.
“What? Are you offended for your servant?” Percy asked again.
Cara’s breathing became heavy. Ashton squeezed Cara’s hand to calm her down. “It’s okay, love, she is just trying to piss you off.” He commented.
“Wow, love? Do you even know what you are saying?” Percy did not even slow down with her insults.
Cara let go of Ashton’s hand to confront Percy. “What is wrong with you? I don’t know what happened to you. Why did you suddenly become this rude, Percy?” Cara raised her voice.
Percy cackled. “I just want to wake you up from your wishful thinking.” She took a deep sigh, as if it was enough to shake Cara’s stand.
“You are the one who should wake up, Percy. Listen, I don’t care if my relationship with Ashton is taboo or what. I don’t care! We love each other and that's what matters here.” Cara reiterated her point.
Percy’s face flushed bright red in anger. She looked at Ashton with a fierce, burning glare like she could incinerate him with just a snap of her fingers. “You are just a servant, you can’t love the Sakalam. You know that!” she said angrily to Ashton.
Celeste held Percy to calm her fire. “Calm down Percy. You don’t want to burn down this cabin. Let them talk privately. This isn’t our business to meddle with.” She hinted at Tyra and Wendy to help her diffuse the situation.
The two heeded while Tyra led the couple out of the cabin and Wendy was left to help pacify the buildup of rage in Percy. “I’m not sure what you are trying to do, Percy, but hold your horses down. It isn’t time yet.” She was as cool as the wind as she said her piece.
