Final Hint

Cara could not believe the audacity of Percy for denying everything in front of her face. “Stop it, Percy, you do not have an audience here.” She walked away from Percy, but she looked back at her before she left for the door. “You should be happy now, you got what you want.” Cara said in a low voice.
Ashton found Percy’s reaction a little too absurd to be a bad acting job. She sincerely looked shocked by Cara’s accusations. Nevertheless he knew Percy’s stand on his relationship with Cara, so he tried to ignore it and lowered his head as he followed Cara out the restaurant.
Ashton and Cara got in the car, but Ashton did not turn on the engine just yet. He wanted to observe Percy from the car for a while. She stayed near the doorway, still with the confused look on her face. Ashton looked at Cara as he exhaled heavily. “What’s with Percy? Why did she meet you last night?” He wanted Cara to vent out her frustrations to him.
“She abhors our rela- closeness.” She could not tell Ashton about their intimacy. “You are my servant and it should stay that way, only that way!” She made her point known.
“You mean… we were close until last night?” Ashton looked away from Cara. He did not want her to feel guilty about erasing his memories, but he wanted her to know that he did not want them erased.
Cara was silent throughout their journey. She remembered how they always enjoyed long trips because she could spend more time chatting with Ashton, but now… It is impossible.
Ashton pulled over at an isolated part of the road, as he couldn’t keep controlling his feelings for Cara this way. “I’m not sure what type of sorcery you have done on me, but it keeps resurfacing Cara!” Ashton said and looked at Cara. He reached for Cara’s hand and placed it over his chest. “You might have erased the memories of us but you can’t trick my feelings Cara.” His eyes were starting to swell with tears. “I like you, I want you… I desire you… I love you Cara.” He said in a low voice with so much sincerity in his tone.
“That is not true. You are incapable of love. That’s how God has designed you. Have cursed you.” Cara contradicted Ashton’s proclamation of love.
“If so, then I might have broken that curse, my love.” Ashton used that familiar term of endearment for Cara.
Her tears cascaded on her face as she faced Ashton. “If so, then you don’t have any business being beside me. Why don’t you get it? Don’t make this hard on us, we are nothing but servant and master, nothing else.” Cara could not finish her words when Ashton grabbed her and kissed her with so much passion.
Cara felt her whole body feel hot as Ashton’s tongue invaded her mouth. The sensation his kisses brought her drove her crazy. She responded to his kisses with moans she never thought she could let out shamelessly.
Ashton moved his hot kisses to Cara’s neck, sending more shivers down her being. She whimpered in pleasure as her fingers dug on Ashton’s back and neck. His warm hands groped every curve of Cara’s voluptuous and burning body. “You are making me crazy my love,” he said in his husky voice.
Cara suddenly came back to earth when she heard Ashton talk. “This is crazy. Please stop.”
Ashton did not want to stop, but he knew he had crossed his boundaries already. He stopped but held Cara’s face in between his large palms. “I will stop but don’t make me forget about this, about us.” He did not let go of Cara’s face until she agreed.
When they got home, Cara went straight to her room. Ashton tried to talk to apologize to her, but she did not respond. Ashton knew at that time that Cara was not interested in facing him the entire night. He looked at his phone and sent Theo a message for a quick meet-up.
Like always, Ashton made sure not to alert Cara. He met Theo at his cabin. “I know you know about me and Cara.” He said as soon as he saw Theo.
Theo bobbed his head and placed his arms across his chest. “I know. And I did not tell her about you.” He said and sat on the chair.
Ashton lit the fireplace before he sat on the other chair. “Thanks for that. I owe you one.” Ashton replied.
Theo shook his head in disagreement. “No, you don’t owe me anything because I did it solely for Cara. Not for you or for anyone else.” He made sure Ashton knew his stand; Cara is his friend, after all. “She will definitely banish you from her life once she finds out that you are no longer bound to her. And for the situation right now, I would rather have you near her always than alone.” Theo was very subjective in his decision.
“I know,” Ashton said in a low voice. “We accidentally ran into Percy earlier and I thought she was acting a bit weird.” He continued. “ I thought you might have, info about her. I am raring to know who the traitor is.” Ashton looked at Theo intently, eager to know more about the traitor.
“Why do you find her weird?” Theo furrowed his thick eyebrows as he asked Ashton.
Ashton looked upwards and recalled what had happened earlier. “She was denying that she went to our room last night to talk to Cara even if we all agreed to stay away from the Sakalam.” He said with amusement in his tone, as if he is also trying to figure it out first. “God, she even handed me her wand when she entered our room.” Ashton chuckled.
“Hmm, Percy? If her, then what did you feel when she handed you her wand?” Theo was onto something.
“Inexplicably, I felt calm. Does it make sense?” Ashton asked Theo, who seemed like he was pointing to a resolution already.
“Then it is not Percy,” Theo said straightaway.
“What do you mean?” Ashton felt like he was left in the dark.
Theo laughed at Ashton’s innocence of the matter. “I thought you knew about this, since you are an expert on witches.” He mocked Ashton.
“Well, this is off the books, clearly.” Ashton defended his pride.
“If it was Percy’s wand, you would feel passionate, not calm. The calmness is brought about by the movement of water.” He said his conclusion out loud.
Ashton gasped at the revelation. “So, you mean that Celeste can transform like that?” He asked Theo, as he could not absorb this ability. It was never written in books, it was just an observation for Theo.
“I’m not just pertaining to the act she did, but to who she truly is.” Theo was cryptic in his opinion.
Ashton looked in Theo’s direction and exclaimed, “Are you saying she is the traitor?”
