Life and Death
Cara’s world just crumbled right before her eyes. She could not even take her eyes away from Ashton. She lost her will to fight anymore. She does not want to continue life without the man that loved her entirety. Cara was inconsolable.
Frank was taunting her, but everything he just said was nothing to Cara. She lost everything the moment Ashton took his last breath.
“Hahaha, the Sakalam is not so strong after all.” He could not stop laughing. He finally avenged the death of his son. And the next step is for his brothers. He never thought silencing the Sakalam forever would be this easy. It was as if she was ready for her death. It was apparent that Cara wanted to join Ashton in the afterlife. “Don’t be excited about your death. I want you to suck up all the pain first.” He spit on Cara. “Do you think you two will meet in heaven after I kill you?” He mocked her more. However, it just made him more furious because Cara was nowhere near interested in answering him.
He took out a knife. "This won’t kill you, but it will hurt you, right?” He blurted out and slashed Cara’s face. Her beautiful face bled, but she did not seem face. He did it again, making an x-mark on her face. Cara’s tears mixed with her blood, it dripped on Ashton’s already blooded body. There is nothing more painful than her heart right now. She could not feel anymore pain. She was ultimately dead inside, nothing could hurt her anymore. It was a failure to Frank’s plan.
Thomas rushed towards Cara and took out the wand he kept from inside his sleeve. He raised his hand with the ultimate weapon that would eliminate the Sakalam. “I’m sorry,” he said as tears ran down his face. He stabbed Cara with all his might. He wanted it to be quick for Cara. Thomas closed his eyes as he forced the wand through Cara’s body.
“Ugh.”
Thomas felt the blood squirt on his face. He was afraid to see the mess he had just made.
“No!” Cara shouted in agony. She never thought she would feel pain again after losing Ashton. “What have you done?” She exclaimed at Thomas.
“I love you Cara.” Theo could barely complete his words. He was coughing out blood, trying to gasp for air. “I told you, I would do anything and everything for you.” He smiled at Cara.
Cara held Theo’s face tenderly, as life was slowly leaving him.
Thomas slowly opened his eyes and saw his own beloved son on Cara’s lap, gasping for his last breath. He looked at his bloodied hand. His sanity was leaving him as the wand on his hand disintegrated in the air and the only person he cared for was on the ground near lifeless.

(Last Week)
“You are doing a great job, Thomas. Even your son does not know you are still on our side.” Frank tapped Thomas’s back. “Have you spoken with your asset inside the coven?” Frank was talking about Celeste, their traitor.
“Yes, we will meet later,” Thomas answered Frank. He was feeling off about their plan, mainly because he was not sure if he wants to continue with their plan.
“ring, ring.” Thomas looked at his phone and as if on cue, the traitor was calling for her. He took a deep breath and raised his hand to Frank to excuse himself.
“Let’s meet at Cara’s final resting place.” She said and laughed before ending the call.
“Frank, I have to go get the wand now. Please don’t let Theo get a clue about this. He will never betray Cara.” Thomas reminded Frank.
“Of course, I know how much you want this promotion. And you know how much I want to get revenge on that couple. I will keep this low.” He blurted out with confidence.
Thomas went on his way to meet with Celeste. He sent a text to Theo. “Son, I will be late tonight. Please watch Cara closely.” He asked Theo to monitor Cara to keep his attention. He was confident that Cara would be safe because he would be the one carrying the only thing that could kill Cara.
Celeste sent Thomas an address to a warehouse she had prepared for them. It was near the sea, her turf. She will be stripped off of her wand, so she has to be near the water to somehow amplify her power even without her real wand.
“Where is the wand?” Thomas extended his hand, not wanting to spend more time around Celeste. He clearly does not trust her. Knowing she is indeed a traitor, after all.
“Why do I sense some disgust from you?” Celeste asked Thomas.
“You are a traitor. How could I not get disgusted with you?” He bluntly said his thoughts.
Celeste laughed and crossed her arms over her chest. “What do you think you are?” Celeste confronted him. “At least, in the end, I don’t have a son to disappoint. She mocked Thomas’s efforts to discredit her.
“Do you know what will happen to the wand after eliminating the Sakalam?” Celeste asked Thomas. She wanted to make sure her disguise would be put up after everything that had happened.
“They say it will stay the same if the owners’ intentions are good,” Thomas revealed to Celeste.
"If not?" Celeste asked Thomas.
He took a deep sigh as he explained it clearly to Celeste. "However, if you are not, then it will disintegrate in the air." You must get a new one to cover up for your missing wand." Thomas said, as if he was sure that Celeste's intentions were ill.
Celeste laughed. Seeing Thomas this desperate made her realize that he was not something she should trust either.
"If you don't do your job properly, I have people waiting to pull a trigger on your son." Celeste made it clear to Thomas that she had a back-up plan.
Thomas's ears were smoking in anger. "Don't you ever lay a finger on my son." He warned Celesete.
"You don't get to order me around. I am the one holding your loved one by the neck." Celeste laughed as she handed him the wand and left.Download Novelah App
