Chapter 56 The Party-goer

Sean Elijah Dela Fuente's P.O.V (Part 3) • February 12, 2020 (Wednesday)
I was in Madrigal's Tower when I received a message from grandpa Elias that I need to attend his friend's birthday (he has the same name as my dad). Tsk, if I know, he will just look for a woman for me to marry. And I just can't decline him. He always put me into trouble and will definitely tell my father about my whereabouts. It's not like, I'm afraid of my father, I just don't want to stress him out. I'm already 25, for Pete's sake.
After I talked with Rash Ferrer, I immediately went out to leave. He has a condo unit here too. Zaine Madrigal, one of our friends and the owner of the Madrigal Towers, even offered me one but I'm still thinking if I will accept it. Besides, Rash gave me a personal mission and it's about his sister.
Riellana Ferrer... It seems familiar and sound like 'her' name. I suddenly miss her. I immediately shook my head as I was in the elevator. I didn't have a lead. I've been looking for her. It's been like five years. But i won't give up.
I went back to my reverie when I heard a familiar voice. A lady was talking with someone on her phone while entering the elevator. I smirk as I eyed her. She's Ethan Montero's girl.
“I'll see what I can do. Just relax there and talk to your mother,” she said and the elevator also tinged. “Bye, Ethan.”
I was just silent while we're inside the elevator. She immediately went out and I.just follow her. She was about to hailed a cab but then a car drove passed by her that I immediately grabbed her arm. She was almost hit by that.
“Are you okay, miss?” I asked. She just nodded but didn't look at me. She walked away and hailed a taxi again. She still looked shock. I just followed her a look as she lost out of my sight.
I went to my car and drive to the Rodriguez's Villa. It was owned by one of my friends. Yes, friends... All this years, I gained dozens of them because of my field of work and it's good to have them. They broke one of my perspectives when it comes to friendship. It sounds weird but I already trust them fully.
After an hour of drive, a familiar voice echoed the whole venue. The elders who attended even looked at where the voice came from. I just smirk as I walked inside the Villa.
“Elijah!" Clifford and his older brother, Clyron, walked towards my direction. “Glad you're here!”
“Sure, man!” I fist bombed with him. “You saw my grandpa?”
“With grandpa too,” he uttered. I nodded and talk about things before we bid goodbye to each other. I just saw my grandpa looking at me. I nodded at him when I was already at his side.
“Elias! You have a good-looking grandson right here.” He's Grandpa Lorenzo, friend of my grandpa. I greeted him and he just nodded.
“You saw my granddaughter?”
“Yes, she was almost hit by a car.”
“How so?” he asked. I told him what happened and he just furrowed.
“Let's ask Nicole then,” Grandpa suggested and we went to her. She's now talking to Clyron.
I smirk as I saw her rolled her eyes at me. She reminds me of someone. Maybe, they're the same age. My smirk faded. when I heard my grandpa talk.
“Hija,” Grandpa Elias called Nicole. “You already met my grandson?” he asked.
“Yes, Grandpa Elias.” she smiled. “He was the one who save me earlier from the car that almost hit me.”
I want to roll my eyes when grandpa Elias acted that he didn't know. “Wait, what?” He even looked at me. “What did she mean by that?”
“Just 'The Hawk', grandpa,” I simply said and shrugged. I'm sure they are the one who did this. Even we're already at the South, they can still reach it here.
“Didn't you eliminate them?” Grandpa Elias asked again.
I shook my head. “Their leader is still on the chase.” I looked at Nicole after. She's maybe one of their targets as she's connected to Clifford.
“Well then, I'll leave them to you.” Grandpa Elias finally said. “Just be nice, Elijah.” He warned me. I just smirk. He then looked at Nicole. “I know you already have a boyfriend, hija. Just be friends with this guy. He's a bit aloof with girls.”
I shook my head as I was left with Nicole right now. I diverted my gaze at her. I don't even want to flirt. She's off-limits and not my type. She stared at me as if she's recognizing someone, so I just flashed a grin.
“What?” she arched a brow. “You don't seem shy to me.” she commented.
I chuckled. “He's just joking.” pertaining to grandpa Elias.
She just shrugged. “Wait, what does he mean by 'The Hawk'? Is that a name of something?” she asked curiously. I stared at her for seconds before I shook my head.
“Nah, just random name,” I answered. She just nodded but still looks curious..
“Why are you following me earlier?” she asked.
“Following you?” I laughed. “No! My condominium is at the Madrigal's Towers,” I said. “Clifford and Zaine are my friends.”
“Can you give me food? I'm starving,” I suddenly said. I need to ask her about something. She maybe in danger. If only I can track their system, it would be easy for me.
“Oh, come with me.” she said and went straight to the kitchen. I followed her as I roamed my eyes around.
“Does this Villa ancient?” I asked so sudden. She just nodded.
“This Villa was from my Great Grandparents. They even named this 'Villa de Rodríguez'.”
“What's your last name?”
“Fontilla,” she muttered.
“Then why does it's just the 'Rodriguez'?” I asked.
“It's because my family on the mother's side is wealthier than the Fontilla's. Clifford's father even owned the Clifford's University.” she stated.
I just nodded and didn't bother asking her again. She maybe not one of the targets but she's still related to the Rodriguez, especially to Clifford.
She prepared a food for me and I just eat in silent. I'm still thinking of few ways how to tell this to Clifford. He may go rigid if he'll know what happened to his cousin.
“Just entertaining some guests right now.” I heard Nicole said. I stared at her and she's talking to someone again. Maybe, Montero. I chuckled when I saw the smudge of spaghetti sauce on her face.
“You have a catsup on your face,” I said, still laughing. She hanged up the call and was about to turned it off when her phone rang again. But my eyes focused on the caller immediately grabbed the phone with a furrowed look.
“Rielle Rivera?” I mumbled. I was still looking at her phone until the call ended. No... This might not her. I need to confirm. No!
“How did you know her name?” Nicole asked, confused while looking at me.
“I've been looking for her,” I said before I gave her phone back. “You know Rielle Rivera?”
“She's my friend and also my blockmate. Why?”
“She's been missing and someone asked me to find her. She's really a pain in the ass.” I crossed my arm as I already have a lead. I need to lie. She doesn't need ri know.
All along, Rielle's here?
“What do you mean? Someone wants to look for her? For what reason?”
“So... she didn't really opened up to you,” I said. “It's not that harmful though. Just family to family.” I added to reassure her. She just nodded before roaming my eyes around the my kitchen. “I need to go, Nicole.” I said as I stood up from my seat.
“Why so sudden? For sure, your grandfather will look for you,” she uttered.
“I'll just go to him.” I said before I gave her back the phone. I give her a kiss on cheeks. “Thanks.” I muttered before walking out. I need to find Rielle. Pronto!
I already got the caller's number. I just need to track where she is. D*mn! All this years, she went to South just to hide from me? Now, that's interesting. Thanks to her friend, I already know where she is.
After a few clicks on my phone, I already got her location. I furrowed as I read the whole address. This is on Matthew's bar. What is she doing here? She's not into clubbing before.
I maneuvered my car and drive back to Rash's unit to change clothes. It's already nine in the evening when I decided to go to Matthew's Bar. F*ck! She's still there! Is she working?
I was welcomed by heavy music as the crowd get wilder. I'm used to this kind of place. Besides I'm not new to this. Tsk, I just need to see her. I clicked on my phone again and settled myself at the bar counter. A blink from my phone shows where she is. And my eyes fixated on my left when I saw her.
I immediately clenched my fist as she was so close to the guy she's with. She clang her arms and hold onto the nape of the f*cktard as she leaned closer and they already kiss.
I keep my eyes on her as she looks so happy.. she looks... Different. She's still Rielle that I owned before. The Rielle who's very sweet with me. But, it was covered up by the new version of her. The fierce and outgoing, the party-goer.
I stayed as I watched her enjoying herself. I was watching her from afar. And this happened everyday. I was like a stalker following her around. She's already in her last year in college. Time flies so fast. Until her birthday came.
I chose to come close to her. I pretended to be the bartender for tonight. She was in front of me while drinking the Margarita she asked. She's close to me and I have the chance to stared at her.
Her blue eyes that I admire the most, her lips that I always want to kiss, her cheeks become more firm, and her eyebrows looks more archy than before. She looks like the opposite of the Rielle I like.
I greeted her a 'Happy Birthday' but she just shrugged at me."Don't mentioned it.” she said.
Even her voice change. I miss everything about her. She even don't want to celebrate her birthday. Is that because of me? Because of what I did on her 18th birthday?
And she didn't even recognize me. Tsk, she must've forgotten me. Or is she just pretending?
I followed her a look as she took her way to the comfort room. I removed my coat and leave the bartender I am with. I wear a mask first before I followed her when I saw three goons of The Hawk on the hallway. F*ck sh*t! They're here?
I quickly went to the girl's room without them knowing. I waited at the back of the door until I felt Rielle's presence. She looks drunk as she sways her way towards the door. I immediately grabbed her and we both hide as we heard The Hawk's goon outside.
“Damn it," I cussed. I can feel her breathe on my skin. It sent shiver to my nerve.
All I think is to make her safe. I don't want to lose her again. Never. She once lose my grip, but I will never allow it anymore. I will keep her away from danger.
I was holding her hand as we ran towards my car. Gunshots filled the bar as I shoot them with the only gun I have. It's not even fully loaded. Gratefully, I hit them perfectly.
I keep hearing her mumbling something. She was stunned that she didn't bother looking at me. I was frustrated while driving her to the Madrigal Towers. I only know where she live but not exactly where her unit is. I've been following her.
I stopped the car and went out and opened the door on her side. She didn't even look at me. I furrowed when she stand in front of me. And when she looked up, she gasped, lips parted as she eyed me, completely shock.
While I was just eyeing at her, admiring every details of her face. I can't stopped stared my eyes on her gorgeous blue eyes.
“Elijah...” she mumbled my name.
I pursed my lips while still staring at her. "You know me, huh? I've been looking for you."
I waited for her to answer but she didn't give me one. Instead she collapsed on me with her arms folded on my shoulders.
I carried her back inside the car. I'll bring her to my house. I buckled her seatbelt first before I fixed her hair that covering her face. I caressed her rosy cheeks. And I smile crept on my lips.
“I'm glad to see you, my lady.”
