Chapter 56.

Nuril was silent—who knows how long? He didn't dare look at Fathur, who had also been silent since earlier. They had been in the car for over an hour. No talking at all. Like statues, the two of them didn't even move, let alone speak. Fathur remained relaxed, even while holding his cellphone, intending to play a game, but in fact a call came into his smartphone, and he immediately picked it up without knowing that Nuril was very curious about who Fathur was talking to because he did not see the caller ID on Fathur's device. Secretly, he listened, but unfortunately, he couldn't hear it at all. It seemed like Fathur deliberately lowered the volume of the call to make Nuril curious.
"Oh, okay. I'll come later."
Fine," he said before ending the call.
Fathur glanced at Nuril, who was getting closer because he was eavesdropping. Nuril, who saw this, immediately straightened up again. She didn't want to make Fathur happy because it had made him curious.
There was a sigh from Fathur that made Nuril look back at Fathur; he remembered that they were secretly like this because of Fathur's sigh earlier.
"Ril, I have work to do; just give out the invites tomorrow," he said, not looking at Nuril at all. It seemed Fathur was really annoyed, and Nuril's self-esteem was also being dropped. He was reluctant to give in, but what would happen would be even more complicated. Better shut up for today first, he thought.
Hmm," replied Nuril with a mumble.
Not a single word was uttered from Fathur's or Nuril's lips. Actually, Nuril was waiting for Fathur's last words because they might meet again tomorrow for final preparations before their wedding. Nuril doesn't want anything too fancy, he said. But, with the current conditions, they fight more often. For some reason, now small and trivial things actually give rise to a lot of misunderstandings. Meanwhile, in the past, when they were just casually dating, that meant they had no intention of getting married; instead, they were just calm. Now? Who knows.
"Where are you going?" asked Nuril directly, and he immediately covered his mouth as soon as he realised that they were fighting.
"There is a need," he said.
"You just want to go like that? Nuril asked again, and Fathur nodded. Making Nuril sensitive herself, she really is having a fight. Different poles, but why does it have to be this cold? He had never found Fathur this cold; usually he still said goodbye normally or at least stopped by his house to meet his mother and aunt. But why wasn't there even a farewell conversation at all, making him into a dilemma?
"Yeah, so what? The problem is that I'm busy; I have work for a while. I'll finish it quickly," said Fathur.
"You say it like that as if we don't have a problem, but you know that we ourselves are fighting. Nuril couldn't understand Fathur's answer.
"Precisely because of that, because we are currently fighting, I don't want us to make more noise and make things worse. Moreover, only because of your emotions and selfishness that never change... ah, I'm starting to argue again with you, right? So, it's better if we don't meet until tomorrow. Fathur answered matter-of-factly, which clearly made Nuril feel sensitive again.
"Can you give me a reasonable reason? Nuril got down and almost slammed the car door before finally hearing Fathur's words, which made him silent again.
"You're always like that; actually, it doesn't matter; I'll marry you no matter what. Because a real man will still keep his promises. But if we're like that for a long time, we might fall out of sync; it's not a matter of love or not. Because I know you'll always love me, and I'm the same... Bucin, that's right. You know I love you to the point of infatuation; maybe that will make it easier for me. But, Ril, I'm sorry if this time you might be disappointed because not everything goes according to plan. Just like Casya said, the world doesn't just revolve around you, so please, Ril. I'm not asking you to change. Changing your nature is not my right, and it is also not the only reason for me to separate or cancel everything we have planned. But it could be one of the reasons you and I can never compromise on our future lives, and that's quite difficult. There was a last gasp, and before Fathur drove his car, he said, "Send greetings to your mother and aunt. He said that, then left. just like that.
Nuril looked at Fathur's car that was driving away until his tears fell without realising it. After Fathur left, Nuril was only in the room all day, not wanting to go out and even refusing to talk to his nephew or other siblings. He wanted to contact Maudy but was afraid of what his cousin would think. He thought a lot about the things that Casya and Fathur had said earlier—was he really that selfish? Not wanting to think about it any longer, he finally just intended to clear his mind.
Meanwhile, several tens of kilometres from Jakarta, a man who was in a dilemma was reluctant to move from his place. After two conversations with Sean, he was confused about whether he should return to Jakarta empty-handed or stay in Bandung, even though he knew that Maudy would probably go to Jakarta.
Finally, he returned home quietly without telling Mbok Siti that he would be going home today. He immediately packed up some of his clothes because he was sure he would return to Bandung soon, so he only brought a backpack and some clothes.
"So, where are you going, Arga?" asked Boko Siti, surprised.
I want to go to Jakarta, but there is work that is not ready. He said it with a sweet smile.
"Well, yes? When are you going to Bandung again? asked mbok Siti; maybe mbok Siti hoped that she would go to Bandung again, or maybe vice versa.
"As soon as possible, Aunt. Arga said it quickly and firmly. Mbok Siti, who saw that, finally nodded in understanding.
Den! she called again.
"Yes sis?" Arga turned and saw Mbok Siti for a long time because she was waiting for what words would be said by Mbok Siti, who was considered her aunt.
"Ah, no way. Anytime." She said again, and Arga just gave a nod and then left after saying goodbye to Mbok Siti.
Meanwhile, Rein saw Maudy sitting in the garden of his house and arranging his flowers. He was chatting with his father until his father came into the house and Rein came.
Dy," he called softly,
"eh, Rein?" Maudy finally realised Rein's presence there.
"What are you doing?" asked Rein again.
"Here, I'm taking care of these flowers and also some of mom and dad's plants. The answer is accompanied by a smile that can always be thrilling for Rein, including a man who has been looking for it several kilometres away from them. Without noticing each other, they are already bonded. Not just a promise, but destiny. Because fate will bring them back to where they should be.
