Chapter 24

The morning came the next day. After sensing an unfamiliar movement, Byul instantly opened his eyes. In that very moment, he saw a peaceful face close to the to his, the skin was dry and it seems to have been chapped because of the cold. Byul blinked, his mind still hasn’t caught up to reality yet. The sleeping face wrinkled his brows and finally after a few seconds, Byul reacted aggressively.
He immediately pushed the face in front of him away and sat up, gasping in shock. His eyes must be playing tricks! What the f—is that bloody jerk doing here?! No, in the first place, why didn’t he detect his presence at all!
Stanley wrinkled his brows, receiving a harsh kick so early in the morning instantly put him in a vile mood. He look above and saw the stupid face widening his eyes like a tarsier. Stanley yawned. His head still hurts and his already aching body received another harsh blow. Not to mention, he saw this fool again.
“What are you doing here you prick?! Can’t you survive on your own. Why are you following me again?!”
Byul huffed, he instantly stood up and went towards him, grabbing the incompetent bast*rd in his collar as he pulled him quite aggressively. The dazed person sobered up as he instantly wrinkled his brow to his offender.
Stanley gripped Byul’s wrist as he glared back at him.
“What the heck is wrong with you?” Stanley jolted up as he turned his head to his side, his face contorted in a total confusion. “What am I doing here?”
“You--!” Byul gritted his teeth. He still want to deny the fact!
Stanley sighed a long sigh and finally murmured under his breath. “If I can’t survive by my own then what about you? Sleeping so defenseless in an abandoned building filled with corpse. Do you have any idea how dangerous it is?”
“Haah?!!”
Grr. The two people roared at each other like a ferocious beasts.
After a few seconds of silence, a loud clatter sounded from the entrance. The council member was frozen stiff. His eyes were focused on the unknown person in the room. Byul glanced at him momentarily.
“You! How did you—mm!”
His mouth was instantly covered with a hand from behind. The delinquent reprimanded him while his eyes slowly travel the room as it instantly focused on the unfamiliar person next to Byul.
“Why are you screaming so early? You stupid-wha? How did you--!”
Byul glanced at the two frozen statue on the entrance. Byul lowered his head, the look on his face was unimaginable. The two flinched, they seem to realize what comes next. He’s definitely-
After a while, Byul slowly loosened his grip and walked towards them. One step at a time as the whole room drifted to silence. Only the slow, heavy footsteps could be heard as the chattering of teeth slowly accompanied the sound.
Byul inhaled deeply as he slowly lift his head. His eyes glazed with anger. He asked them in a slow, cold tone. “Didn’t I told you to guard the night? Just one night! I let you stay but you have the guts to let this rat slip inside!”
He then waved his hand to the right as the palm extended towards the place where the stiffs were. Byul clenched his hand and warned.
“Why don’t I just feed you to them. That way you’ll be more useful to me.” He said as he grinned devilishly.
As the moment heated up. Winston suddenly barged in a huff.
“What’s happening here?” He asked wrinkling his brows. He then cleared his throat and ignored whatever the situation they are in. In a serious voice, he said
“We spotted a pack of zombies, two o’clock in the front and it looks like some survivors are leading them here.”
Byul blinked his eyes as he loosened the expression on his face. After a while, he walked towards the front, simply giving a meaningful look at the two students and bypassed them.
“Here.” Winston handed him the binoculars. Byul was silent for a second and calmly took it. He focused his vision on the right and finally saw three people running just a kilometer away from them. After them was a hundred or two zombies. Byul squinted his eyes as he confirmed the numbers of corpses. A moment after, his lips quirked up to a smile.
“Today must be my lucky day.” Byul snickered as he returned the binoculars to Winston.
“Lucky?” Winston raised his brow in confusion. They’re about to be surrounded and he still says ‘lucky?’. Did this guy lose a screw in his head? Winston couldn’t help but wonder. He then shook his head and said in a serious manner.
“They’ll reached this building soon. We should save them at least.” Winston hesitated a bit on the last sentence.
Byul just let out a hearty laugh as he look at him as if he’s saying a joke. Save huh? Why would someone save a bunch of people who clearly brought the danger to them? The only person who would do that is a saint!
“Are you saying that out of responsibility officer?” Byul asked him in a smile.
Winston was silent for a moment as he stared at his silly face. After contemplating for a while. Winston let out a helpless sigh.
“No. I just want to save them if I could.”
Byul laughed even more. If he said yes, it would be more logical but to think he’ll smeared it as personal choice. He really don’t understand why he had to lie.
“You’re too soft for a soldier. Sir.” Byul sighed a long sigh.
Winston just stared at him. He then sensed a gaze from the room and finally got remembered the unfamiliar person issue. That man he-
“By the way. How did that b*stard get in?” Byul quickly asked as if he just read his mind. He then followed a lot of complaints one after another, hurling harsh words on the tip of his tongue.
“You can’t even guard the night. Sheesh.” Byul sighed, thinking that he found a bunch of useless people.
Stanley immediately popped out of the room and loudly clicked his tongue in irritation. “So what if I am here. I wasn’t in my right mind and followed a nasty scent and when I woke up, I found myself here.” Stanley explained.
Last night was a blur and his mind was only filled with the desire to kill, all his sense of reason fade whenever he activates his special skill. He really don’t know how he regain his senses at the end but funny enough, he found himself next to this idiot.
It’s like he was drawn by the idiot’s scent. He must be sniffing the street like a damn dog. Stanley palmed his face in amusement. Just why does his skill has to be involved with some sort of beastly instincts?
Byul just rolled his eyes. Such a bland reason, who would believe that? Anyway, something doesn’t feel right. Byul looked at Winston and the room as his brow slowly raised higher.
Damn…
That guy, he’s gone…
After a long moment of silence. The group seems to have realized something wasn’t right. The delinquent knitted his brows in impatience. His eyes then travel the whole space and finally asked in a very suspicious manner.
“Oi. Where’s Teach?”
