Alicia left the next morning to her family's home along with her trusted best friend Jeanette. Her father, Mr Collette was one of Damon's trusted investors who was now threatening to not only leave the company but also call off the wedding.
Understanding her father's threat wasn't a child's play Alicia had to leave to douse his anger before it came to reality. She was still keen on getting married to Damon even after everything.
Her love for him was stronger than I thought.
Beatriz had been asleep ever since the doctor came to check on her yesterday. I made sure to check on her from time to time incase if she wasn't dead. Thankfully she wasn't, I could see her breathing so she must be enjoying her sleep.
I sighed at the thought of Damon having to sleep on the floor or on a bunk bed that probably reaks with no blanket or anything other than his suit jacket. He must've been really lonely.
The reporters who were still at the gate hopefully waiting for the time Xander or anybody closely related to Damon comes out so they could throw in some hurtful questions, it was a good thing that there was an exit route at the farmlands were Elizabeth's family stayed. Janet and her husband has been really helpful despite not liking Damon, they went through their to put everyone in check.
Having nothing to do and Xander refusing my calls each time I tried to get information out of him concerning Damon I decided to watch the television. As yesterday had been the whole television stations were filled with Damon's alleged murder case but the news today was different.
I increased the volume of the television with the remote before dropping it next to me. The news started with a video of Damon entering the police car after he was arrested yesterday, I could see me at the side of the gate looking really sad after I had given that nod..... I can't believe they capture that part. The video paused and the newscaster began.
"Good morning New York and this is NEWS TV, yesterday business tycoon and entrepreneur Mr Damon Prince was arrested on the charges of murder of late Miss Rachel Harper, the lady who was his secretary and supposed mistress had been seen on couple occasion not relating to business affairs. However, Miss Rachel was found dead in her apartment minutes after Mr Damon had left, the police has pointed the business mogul as a prime suspect in this case since there was no other person at her apartment that night. Earlier today we received an information that the deceased had been pregnant and also had an altercation with Mr Damon minutes before her death, despite all of this Mr Damon is being released today as the Judge had debunk all evidence brought with a claim that it wasn't enough to keep him locked in. Due to this there has been protest by human rights activists at the gate of the police station of which Mr Damon is currently locked in. I wanted to be happy that Damon will finally be home but the sadness in me was overpowering, could Damon had actually kill Rachel because he was avoiding to become a father or what was it? Did Rachel have had any enemies of some sought without her knowledge whatsoever?
The large door in the mansion pushed open and both Xander and Damon walked in. It looked so unreal cause the newscaster was just talking about him a while ago and now he is here, my feet paused trying to take in the sight to be sure that he was the one standing before me, when I believe that he was I forgot everything that happened days before and hugged him tightly, not so tightly though the bump won't let me. Damon hugged me while patting my back because I had already started crying.
We were there for a while and it didn't matter to me that Xander or anybody was watching, I missed him so much that it hurts to even think about anyone at this point. I know he didn't kill Rachel, Damon couldn't even kill a bug in my room and was squirming like a child begging me to take it away then how would he be able to murder someone who is that close to him without getting implicated. It made no sense that he would, I know he would explain it to me better, I just have to wait and trust him.
Damon took a step back to stare at my teary face and the smiled.
How dare he smile right now.
"Are you alright?" I managed to speak out and he nodded before hugging me again, this time it took the power of Xander to separate us. Xander looked at me like he wanted to say something concerning this but he chose not to.
Using his hands to wipe my tears, he said, "Let me go shower, have some rest and then we could talk, unless you still want to keep your word about us been apart"
I shook my head. I don't think I would want to stay away from him especially when he needs me the most. Maybe I would go back to that after everything has been clarified and we would be in a good place to discuss it again but now I think it's best I offer my support.
"I don't see mum anywhere, where is she?" Xander asked.
I can't believe I totally forgot about Beatriz, "She fainted yesterday so the doctor told her she needs some rest, She is currently resting maybe you can visit her later" I said to Xander after Damon had gone up to his room.
"Yeah , I actually need to change in to some fresh clothes, I will check on her later and you.... We still have some unfinished business" Xander pecked me on the cheeks and went out to his own house, I am surprised my heart didn't beat as it should.
I took limited speed to Damon's room in spite of knowing he was taking his bath. His door was locked which made me turn back in disappointment.
Thank God it wasn't open cause Alicia just returned.
