Chapter 71 Finding The Answer
I stared at her. "Your mom must have told you not to get angry. She must have taught you to withhold and control your anger, which is the reason why you haven't noticed it. She did a good job helping you control your anger"
I groaned. "I do not understand you"
"I will make you understand," the other woman said and I stared at her.
"Your mother, may her soul rest in peace..."
"You know that my mother is dead?"
She nodded. "Yes, we do"
I sighed. I wished my mom was here. It would be easy for me to understand what is going on here.
"Who told you about my mother's death?"
She sighed. "We received an auspicious sign in the sky the day she died and she appeared to your father and asked him to find you. Your dad sent us out to find you and we have been on the quest since then"
"Do you know how long it has been since my mother died?"
"Six years" she muttered.
"It took you five years. Six good years to find me and you expect me to believe you?"
"We are sorry. We tried our best but your mother hid your scent so well we could not trace it"
I groaned. "And you want me to believe that?". I scoffed. "I will not believe any of the words you say to me," I said standing up. "I am leaving"
"Xavia?" Axel called but I ignored him, walking out of the meeting hall.
He did not bother to follow me. I headed back to my room and met Alaila waiting outside.
"Why did they want to..." she sighed when she saw the look on my face. "I guess I should not ask"
I left her outside and entered the room. I sat down on the bed, brushing my hair backward.
"Th-this... This is too much for me to take in"
How could they not find me for the past six years? They did not find me when I was in the Ice Pack where I was treated so badly. They did not find me when I was lying helplessly in a place I knew no one until Axel saved me. Why did they have to find me now that my life has gotten better?
Alaila walked in and sat down beside me. "I do not know what is going on with you but I hope you will not think much about it". I stared at her. "I know you do not want to share the information with me yet and I will not ask you to. But just know that I will be here with you, no matter how long it takes..."
"I am the Spirit Princess" I blurted out and she blinked.
"Wh-what? Wh-what did you just say?"
"I said I am the Spirit Princess and my name is Amaya"
"Yo-you are joking right?"
"I wish I was. I wished this was just some kind of dream and I would be waking up from it soon"
She sighed. "I-i... I-I am confused right now"
"You're confused? Good thing that you know that you are. I do not know what I am right now. I do not know what I am feeling right now"
She sighed. "Come," she said, stretching her arms for a hug. I hugged her and sighed. "I can't imagine what you are going through right now. You haven't gotten over finding out that you are Axel's mate, now this". She patted my shoulder. "But don't worry. Everything will be fine"
I sighed. "I hope it is"

After much pursuit from Axel, I agreed to meet with them again and hear them out. Axel went with me. When I walked into the meeting hall, they stood up and bowed. Axel whispered their names to me. The last time we met, there was no time for them to introduce themselves to me and I had no plan to ask for their names today either.
"Can you stop bowing? I am not your Spirit Princess. You must have made a mistake" I told them. I sat down beside Axel, my arms folded and my eyes on them. "I hope you will be able to convince me, today"
"Amaya, I mean Xavia. I know how difficult it is for you to find out that you have a father and you are a Princess" the one Axel introduced as Elora said and I scoffed.
"I do not have a father. My mother told me my father died the day I was born"
"Your father is alive and he is the Spirit King" the other woman Axel introduced as Mira said.
I scoffed. "I do not know any clan called the Spirit clan. I have asked around and no one knows. So tell me if the Spirit clan exists like you claim. How come I have never heard of it before and a lot of people haven't either?"
"They are hidden, Xavia. Only a few people know about them" Axel said and I sighed.
"I can't believe you knew about them too" I mumbled.
He held my hand. "Please hear them out"
I sighed. "Fine. Tell me what you have to say" I said.
"Xavia" Elora began. "No amount of words can make you understand what the Spirit clan is about. Xavia why don't you come to the Spirit clan with us? You can find out about everything you want to know"
"I do not have business with the Spirit clan. I am not going there with you. Tell me why you are here and if that is your reason, I am not coming with you. Nothing can change my mind about it"
"Your father is sick and..."
"And what? Don't tell me he wants to see me"
She nodded. "He wants to ask for your forgiveness"
I sighed. "He doesn't need my forgiveness. He did nothing to me. I do not even know him"
"Xavia, I know you are in pain right now"
"I am not. I am not in pain. Why should I be?"
"Xavia..."
"You will go back and tell him that I Xavia, do not want to have anything to do with him. He should focus on his children. Does he not have other children"
"He has"
"Why is he looking for me when he has other children to look up to? He should think of the possible things he had done to them and ask for their forgiveness. He doesn't need mine"
"Xavia?" Axel cooed.
"Are we done here?" I asked and they stared at me. I sighed. "I guess we are," I said standing up. "I am leaving"
"Xavia" Axel called.
"Let her be. She is still very angry. She will come around very soon"
I left the meeting hall and instead of going back to my room, I decided to take a stroll. I needed to clear my mind and taking a walk seemed to be the best option.
I visited Axel's garden at the back of the Packhouse. Since I returned to the Lycan Pack, I had not visited it. I got there and jumped over the fence. The garden looked a bit unkept and that made me wonder if Axel had not visited it in a while.
I saw the fruit he sent to me for my birthday and I smiled.
"Who gives a box of fruit as a birthday gift?" I thought out loud.
"Only Axel can do that" I heard and I turned to see Alaila.
"What are you doing here?"
"I saw you coming this way and I wondered where you were heading. I never knew you would be visiting Axel's garden"
I smiled. "This place reminds me of a lot"
"I know. Do you remember the hidden house behind the garden"
I nodded. "The hidden house where we first saw him in his monstrous self"
"You mean his Lycan..."
"I never knew such existed. I can still remember how terrified I was"
She nodded. "I was too. Do you remember how long we ran?"
"Of course I do. How can I forget such? That day we ran away with no plan of returning"
She held my hand. "Will you take a walk with me"
I nodded. "Sure"
We left the garden and we walked past the hidden house. I stared at the house and sighed. We walked for a while in silence. When we finally stopped, I stared at her.
"Where is this place?"
"The place we said our goodbyes". I blinked slightly as the things that happened that day began to play in my head. "This is the place where we departed and went our separate ways. That day, I had thought that I was never going to see you again". She held my hand. "Xavia, thank you for staying alive and coming back to me"
"Alaila, that day I wanted to run after you and ask you not to go but for some reason I couldn't. I am sorry I did not ask for your opinion before deciding for you. I never knew you did not meet your family for my sake. I am..."
"You don't have to be sorry, Xavia. You did what you thought was right, though I did not see it that way at first. I thought you were selfish but after hearing from Jason, I realized that you did it for me. You did that because you love me and want the best for me. Thanks to that decision you made, I was able to go back to my family and reunite with them". I smiled. "Sometimes, Xavia" she continued. "People make decisions that seem to hurt others at first but in the end, that decision was made for the sake of these people. But do you know that the people these decisions were made on their behalf get angry and develop hatred for those you made the decision?"
I sighed. Why is she telling me all this?
She smiled. "We might need to listen to the reason behind these decisions for us not to hate them". I nodded and she continued. "Xavia, I know right now, that you blame your parents for separating and allowing you to pass through a lot. But if you do not hear their side of the story you might not know the reason behind their decision and that will only make you angry with them. I know your mom is dead and you cannot hear her side of the story but your father is alive. Xavia, please go to the Spirit clan and hear your father out"
