"You're just wasting your time. You will not find anything here." Demitri said with a bored expression while looking at her busy scanning every book she gets. "You're not helping either." Rue rolled her eyes while grabbing every book she saw on the shelve then immediately scans it. He took a sigh. "Alright then. Goodluck." He then shrugged his shoulder. She just resumed on scanning ever pages of books, hoping that she will find any clues. "Why are you here?" She asked calmly while getting for another when she didn't find anything with the previous books. He crossed her arms over his chest. "Am I not allowed to be here?" His forehead creased a little. "Obviously." She said straightforwardly with emphasis in her voice. But thinking about it, it's not a bad thing that he's here. Their plan will be more convincing if they're always together. "But you're doing a great job." She then chuckled as she continues looking for the book. She heard him tsked, but she didn't say a word and went to the other side of the shelve. And she saw in side of her eyes, him following her. They're at the end of the room already. While she's looking at the lower layer of the shelve, a familiar appearance of a book caught her attention. When she gets it from the shelve and saw its cover, she remembered the person who owns it. Demitri noticed that she suddenly stopped while holding a vintage notebook with designs on the front cover. "It's my mother's." She uttered when she noticed he's intently looking at her. He just nodded. He knows the story of her family. But he chose not to say anything and ask further question that may trigger it. She flips the notebook but didn't read the context, she just smells the scent of the old paper. It makes her think of the face of her mother. When she looks at him, their eyes met. It seems like he's staring at her all the time. She slightly pursed her lips. "Do you write journals?" She asked, trying not to overreact to his stares. "No." He simply answered, not breaking the eye contact even she just gets caught staring at her. She rolled her eyes as she looks away. "If you have a journal, what do you write in there?" She asked then resumed on looking for books while holding the journal on her other hand. "All of my thoughts. What else?" He answered with his voice sounded irritated. He can't believe she's asking questions with obvious answer. When she heard his answer, her finger stopped from perusing for books. Her gazed turned to him as she slowly gets up and her crumpled shirt. While his eyes looking at her with knitted eyebrows. "You're right. It's not here." She said as she slowly nodded and puts inside her jacket the journal she's holding. She's wearing a black jacket paired with jeans. He didn't say a word. While he's staring at her, he couldn't tell what's going on in her mind but he is sure that she already has a clue where to find what she's looking for. "Let's go somewhere else then." She announced as she gestured him to follow her and started taking a step away, while holding tightly the journal on her hand. He didn't move. "And why should I come with you?" He asked with a frown creased his forehead. She stopped and turn around to him. "Because you followed me here at the first place." She paused. "And now you know what I'm up to, I have to make sure your secrecy." She then smiled at him sarcastically. She didn't wait for his response and heard him sigh with full of exasperation but she didn't bother to turn around as she headed towards the door. She's aware that he planned to follow her, but she knows that he can't do anything about it. They exited the library quietly. While walking in the hallway, she slowly puts her hands around his arms as they walk normally and careful not to appeared suspicious to anyone who sees them. They used their vampire speed as they went up to stairs and luckily, no one is around. They easily arrived in front of a door of her father's room. Rue knocked on the door twice. But no one answers. It seems like no one is inside the room. "I'll go inside, while you stay here to keep an eye." Rue announced and turned the doorknob. He was about to say something but she looks at him with a narrowed eyes and meaningful look. Demitri's jaw clinched for a second. "Alright. Take your time." He submitted as he exhaled a quivering breath. She swiftly entered the room with just a second and as she expected, no one is there, the lights are off. She didn't waste a time to roams around the room. She begins with his table. She also looks into the all drawers but she didn't find anything. but just some books and papers. She then looks to the big old cabinet and when she opened it, it's just filled with clothes. She also pushed aside the clothes in between to find for a back door but it's just a plain wooden back of the cabinet. She also searched underneath it. She unconsciously bites her bottom lip in frustration. "Mr. Luciano." She heard Demitri said, using her keen hearing. She's assuming that he already her father walking towards the room. And she didn't have more time to look for it. She immediately arranged the hanged clothes back into its arrangement earlier. Just after she carefully closed the cabinet, she saw a design of a two drawer at the top of the cabinet. "Demitri, I didn't expect to see you here?" She heard his father's voice approaching the room. She didn't waste a time and immediately opened the both drawers that's filled with journals. She carefully reached it all then scans at every journal, looking for the year that's near to the incident. "I'm actually here to pick up Rue for the dinner." She can hear Demitri's voice became louder and with emphasis. It's like giving a signal to her to hurry up.
