"Didn't I tell you to rest?" Demitri continued, referring to her while looking straightly at her eyes.
"I was about to but then he showed up." She reasoned out, but she just felt the chills in his stares.
Demitri eyebrows furrowed more, as if he just heard a lame reason. And he's not paying attention to the man beside her.
"I'm Atreus, her friend." Atreus voluntarily introduced himself to break the tension between them.
"He's a Demon, he can help us with the mission." She added, hoping that would make him feel at ease.
Rue's eyes looked back and forth between the two. Hoping that Demitri would finally pay attention to him. Atreus is calmy smiling while Demitri is looking at him with his usual blank eyes.
"Demitri." He finally answered as he looks at him, but his gaze at once switches on her. "I told you to rest. We can talk about the mission tomorrow." He continued with authority in his voice.
"I'm already feeling fine. We can discuss about it now." Her voice slightly pitched as she protested in disbelief.
Demitri once again stared at her with his furrowed eyebrows, his usual expression when he's annoyed or something.
Rue took a deep breath before answering. "We can't waste time. And I'm fine now." She assured with a calm voice. She feels like she's trying to convince a kid from not getting a candy.
"Look who's sick worried." Atreus whispered with a playful smile while seeing the two having their moment.
She at once glared at him after he said those. "He can hear you." She mouthed as she rolled her eyes at him. Now she's afraid that he might pissed him more from teasing.
"Just make it quick." Demitri said with urgency in his voice and walks towards them. Rue's surprised eyes followed him sit beside them. She couldn't help but to wonder why he didn't make a fuss. This is new, she thought.
There's a sudden silence after he took his sit. And both of them are just looking at her, as if waiting her to speak up.
"Before we start the plan, we need to know the target face first." She started as she looked at the two. She rests her elbow above the table and clasp her hands.
"So, what does she or he looks like?" Atreus asked in curiosity.
"It's he." She clarified. "And Demitri is the only one who knows him." She added as she turned her eyes at Demitri.
"I can draw a sketch of his face." Demitri said plainly.
Rue and Atreus exchanges looks at the same time, like they're both thinking the same thing. It's a good thing they can see the face of the target beforehand. She can easily execute a plan.
"That would be a big help." Rue said as she slightly nodded at him. "We will locate him using this ring." She said as she lifts her right hand to show the ring on her pinky finger.
"You still have that?" Atreus commented surprisingly. She turned her eyes at him, she forgot to return it to him before returning home.
"Yeah, thank you." She just replied playfully. Atreus shook his head in disbelief with a small laugh.
"What will we do after we locate him?" Demitri asked, impatient can be heard on his voice.
Rue suddenly looks at him. "Since he knows you, you and Atreus will be at my back while I try to lure him to a place that's not crowded." She replied simply and confident with her plan.
"Xenos is not just an ordinary prisoner. What if he knows you?" Demitri objected while looking at her with his eyebrows meeting in the middle and sharp eyes.
"I haven't been in the dungeon, and I was away for years from the palace." She replied in certainty, but Demitri is looking like he doesn't believe her statement.
"Take me with you. Just in case." Atreus volunteered as he leaned at the back of his chair.
They both look at him. "You can't, you will use the locator spell." Rue protested against it.
"It will only take a penny of my physical strength. It's fine with me." Atreus shrugged his shoulder.
Her eyes narrowed while looking at Atreus. "Our speed is 10 times fasterㅡ"
"We're talking about your safety here." Atreus cut her off before she could finish her sentence.
Rue rolled her eyes in disbelief. "I can handleㅡ"
"Do you want me to go with you as well?" Demitri suddenly interfered. When she turned her eyes to him, he's looking at her with a serious eyes. They're both staring at each other competitively. It's like the conversation is not going anywhere until she agreed.
She slowly took a deep breathe. "Fine." Rue finally said. Even it pissed her off, she truly doesn't have any idea what kind of man they're dealing with.
"Are we going to catch him dead, or alive?" Atreus asked looking back and forth between the two of them.
"Alive. We still need to interrogate him when we go back." Demitri answered. His facial expression become more serious.
"So, I guess that's all for the plan. Any concern or suggestion?" Rue asked.
Atreus shakes his head when she looks at him while Demitri just remained silent.
"Then we'll get ready for tomorrow." Rue dismissed when she didn't get a response from them.
"Permission to leave. See you tomorrow." Atreus bid farewell before he vanished into a thin air in his seat.
Demitri stood up in his seat when Atreus left and ready to leave. But Rue remained on her sit, while just watching him mindlessly.
"What are you waiting for?" He asked when he noticed her silence and motionless.
"It's just," She started. "I have something to tell you." She finally said, but her gaze become uneasy.
"Save it until we're done here. Have your rest." Demitri at once dismissed with a firm voice. He started walking away from the table. But Rue is still having a thought if she would stop him or not and just tell him right away her concern.
"Do you want me to drag you into your room?" Demitri speaks as he stopped from walking.
Rue at once stood up and followed him to walk into their designated room. Her thoughts are not related to their mission, but it really bothers her. First is the marriage and how she will face her father after what she discovered the reason behind her ex lover's death. She also wonders if all of her encountered supernatural are also related to her father's doing.
