It was July in the city, the heat was bullying in its humidity. The sky was so clear, with the buzzing of cars, people, and shops along with the fragrance of the flowers– kept the city alive. Aims was so busy with her notes that she forgot to inhale its site of refreshment.
Soon, the bus pulled up in front of the gates of SCHOLARS UNIVERSITY– not one but quite a few number of students along with Aimscious knocked down the bus as they headed into the campus.
It was particularly packed today due to the entrance exams~ several incoming students veered in from all directions for their justification into the university. With swift glances around, Aims turned and threaded her way through a sea of students ahead of her as she headed to the administration block where the exams were to be hosted.
In the distance, she noticed a few students gathered here and there in groups as they went about their various activities~ some studying and others just having a chat and sharing a bowl of laughter. She kept mumbling something on her lips as if in whispers as she strode on, occasionally going over a few points on her cell.
As she hastes on without watching her path, Aims accidentally ransmacked into a human wall as she rounded the corner of the hallway~ his books instantly went flying into the sky, which eventually landed on the floor scattered.
“ Hey~ watch it...” an unfamiliar voice shouted, quite upset. “ You ought to watch where you're going.” He added as he crunched down for his items. Instinctively, she crunched along, in an attempt to help out.
“ Sorry...so sorry~,” She said as they both gathered the books into one pack. “ Sorry, I was too lost in what I was doing, I forgot to look ahead..” She added as they clasped onto the last book– that's when they took a glance at each other.
For a moment, his eyes were locked in hers. His deep-set blue eyes, flecked with gold glittered like the ocean hit by sunlight. He was about 5-eight with short-cropped dark hair– Aimscious noted as they rose to their full length.
“ You're pretty...” It came in almost a whisper which made her blush with a sheepish grin~ the words caught her by surprise. This wasn't what she was expecting, she was actually waiting for a tantrum more than a pleasant compliment. 
“ Oh...?” She chuckled. “ that wasn't what I was expecting but anyway, thanks.” She said and they both laughed. “ Sorry for the inconvenience as well.” She felt more apologetic.
“ No worries~” He sucked his teeth. “ Such a new face you are–Have I seen you before or you're part of the entrance students?"
“ Yeah, right...” She nodded. “ I'm Aimscious Nelson, a candidate hoping to join you guys soon~ first-year student.” She explained. “Sorry for the late introduction. ”
With an “Oh..” expression, he chuckled. “ Nice to meet you, Miss Nelson, ~ I'm Prince Scot, a second-year student; a law student to be precise.” He said with a broad smile, exposing the two holes in his cheeks– those dimples made him even more adorable.
“ Nice to meet you too... I guess we'll be taking the same course then. I'll come to you anytime I need assistance. ”
“ Sure, do so...” He said and they both shared a laugh. Soon, they heard the siren urging the new students to assemble at the administration block. With that, Aims took leave of him.
Prince watched her back disappear along the hall as she rounded the corner leading to the said block. With a smile, he turned off to what he was on.
There were a few candidates around with the others gradually joining in when Aimscious got to the venue. Immediately, she took her stand among the group. 
After a few minutes of orientation,  they were directed to their various seats. Aimscious was on the 6th row, seat number 58. Soon, their papers were handed over to them~ the sirens later went off to start work. It was to last for 2hrs, 30 minutes in total.
Instinctively scanning through her papers after putting down her name, Aims did her first reading, followed by her second, and soon her pen was busy scribbling down her answers.
The room went silent for the next 2hrs– only the ticking of the clock could be heard through the halls. Just after the strike of the last minute of the 30 minutes left, the siren announced the end of the exams. 
“ All pens down...hands behind your head.” The teacher stated and it was accordingly complied. 
After the last paper was retrieved, a few announcements were dropped along with how they'll receive their results and other instructions for those who might make it through.
The class was suddenly thrown into a ruckus after the dismissal. The students exited in pairs and ones~ Aimscious was part of the loners since she had not made any friends yet. She suddenly had a lot going on her mind after the announcement. How was she going to fend for her studies?– that was something to get worried over.
An idea soon dawned on her– getting a part-time job isn't so bad a thing to try. She thought to herself.  Without hesitation, she retracted and redirected herself toward the train station.

Aims walked a long way to the train station, letting the sun bake into her skin. Although it was late in the afternoon, the sun was strangely hot. 
The train to Garden City, the immediate town after Dreamland, soon blasted into the Station– sending the trash on the platform swirling around her feet. The doors opened and she leaped inside, willing them to close again.
The drive to Garden City was less than an hour's ride by train and this was the fastest method she could decide on if she wanted to combine both work and studies.
In about an hour, Aimscious was already touring the streets of Garden for vacancies. Finally, as she took the second stretch, she came across a Cafe, “ NINA'S  CAFE...” the sign read. It seems to have job vacancies~ Aims smiled. 
“ At last~ ” She exclaimed, her face relaxed in relief. She took notice of the mid 50's lady who was busy watering the mini garden in front of the Cafe, as she approached.
“ Greetings, Ma'am...” She said.
