Chapter 35 NEW HOME

After showing her around and enlightening her on how things work at Nina Café, the duo quickly straightened up the place for the day. It was almost 7: 30 am and people will soon stream in for their coffee and snacks for the morning.
Sure everything was in place, Aims matched to the glass windows which still hid the inn of the café by the curtains and pulled them open. The familiar rays of sunshine quickly filled the shop– taking in the sounds of the city, its beauty, people rushing in and out of their homes, and car horns.
She closed her eyes, inhaling its freshness~ a faint smile displayed at the corners of her lips. She sighed, flipped her eyes open, and clocked the red card on the glass door from CLOSED to OPEN.
As she turned back to the counter, Nina instructed her to get some coffee beans from the storage. After bringing out the request over to the counter,  she started jotting down a few things in the note seated in front of her ~ that's when a ding from the entrance got her attention.
“ Did I miss something?” A male voice announced its presence as he loomed forward. Aimscious wore a bright welcoming smile as he approached nearer. “It seems a little different in here today.” He briefly added which brought Nina over from her mini office.
“ Kind of~ ” She answered with a chuckle as she ushered him in. “ Glad you came in earlier today... I need you to meet our new member. ” She turned him towards Aims who had been watching all along, her gaze quite conflicted.
Although he looked familiar, she couldn't make out where or when exactly they'd met–maybe it was just a resemblance to someone she knew, she thought but then, gasped.
“ Hey...you!!” He exclaimed in excitement, his face lined with a smile.
“ Prince Scott?” She snapped, the name finally pulled up in her memory. Prince nodded, he was so glad to have met her at a place he never expected~ in excitement, they hugged.
“ Such a lovely surprise, Aims” He laughed. Aims agreed, she didn't anticipate a meeting soon if not at the campus– this took her off guard. “ So, what brings you here?” He asked but Nina cut in before Aims could even answer.
“ She's our new Part-timer” She stated on an impulse. “ You seem to have already met.” Prince and Aims both nodded with some fondness to each other. “ Well...another new development, I've decided she'll move in with us ”
This made them exchange glances, the looks on their faces shouted their surprise at it. “ Moving in?” They chorused and Nina nodded with no hesitation at all.
“ She's not just any part-timer but more of a sister to you, Prince” She further explained. “ I've decided to adopt Aims here as my younger daughter since I've got no daughter– I heard she lost her family and living alone now. I know you'll love her to be part of our home, too.”
The looks on his mother's face told her excitement about Aims joining the family as a daughter and since she is happy, he was ready to accept her decision. Besides Aims was a lovely calm girl, so having her as a sister wouldn't be so bad a decision.
Frankly speaking, he'd have no problem either so far as it's Aimscious they were deciding on. With a smile, he wrapped her into a hug as a welcome norm. “ Sure... I'll love to~ welcome to the family, baby sis.”
Aims was left stunned with no words at all– It all felt like a dream to her. Everything was happening at quite a brisk pace which her mind had not fully comprehended yet.
“ Will you be okay to move in with us?” Nina asked. They both stared at her expectantly, but Aims just remained dumbfounded. She didn't know what exactly to say– yet their hopeful gazes kept scanning for an answer.
“ Ah...” She feigned a chuckle, then pursed her lips before continuing. “ I...Umm, no ” She said and their gazes sunk in disappointment. She instinctively felt guilty, disbanding their understanding of her words.
“ no..., no, I mean, not today~ I need to pack up my things today and...”
“ No...sis, no excuses.” Prince instinctively cut in before she could continue. “ I'll drive you home, help you pack, and then, we return today~ what do you think about that, pumpkin ?”
He opted which basically got her. She couldn't refuse. Before she could say anything, a voice interrupted from the entrance.
“ Can I have a coffee, please ” a masculine voice requested.
“ Sure...It'll be ready in a minute.” She said, washing off to attend to the young man. Nina and Prince stared at her back and smiled.
“ Why is she so sure?” Nina laughed, her heart warmed with pleasure.  “ Such a lovely, bubbly kid.” She highlighted and Prince couldn't deny that.
“ I'll go help her out....” He offered and Nina nodded.
Aimscious was preparing the coffee when she felt a presence beside her. She intuitively glanced up and noticed it was Prince. He wore a faint smile and she smiled back.
“ Leave this for me~ I'll handle it.” He said, pointing to the door. “ I can see a few more customers in, you can go get their orders.”
Without hesitation, she nodded and trod off. She actually felt warm and happy to have a caring family once again. That brotherly love she missed so much– it felt like her long-awaited prayers are finally being answered.
                                         AIRPORT
It was 5 pm when Lila and Kingsley arrived at the airport. It was exceptionally cold, flakes of snow drifted in the air–their breath came out in a burst of visible vapour.
Kingsley quickly checked their belongings, making sure everything was intact. Their ride arrived just in time when they came out of the terminal. Soon, they were zooming out of the airport.
Lilia's gaze pulled a smirk– her lips lined with a snare. “I'm here for you, baby, girl” She mumbled in a whisper as she redrew her phone. “ It's game on~”
