(Hadrian's pov )
I'm thinking about tomorrow's patrol with Luna ..... Luna ... Thinking about her sends strange sparks through my spine .... What happened in the training room got me nervous so I had to leave.
 
  I know I sound like a coward but what was I to do? Someone, please tell me ... That's right, no one is here.
I let out a sigh of frustration as I put my head into my palms, my hair was out of the ponytail and probably a mess now.
That fireball that was created when our fingers touched is a sacred tale dad used to tell Zuka and me when we were little, such fireball is called " the mate blaze" which I said comes out when two souls that have been approved by the wood goddess, these souls are to be mated for under the descent of the wood goddess, where she appears and bless the mates.
So seeing that fireball got me in a frenzy because that means Luna and I are mated, was that right? Why did the goddess choose someone who I've only known for one day to be my mate, I don't need a mate, I'm happy the way I am, and I don't want to end up like my parents, sometimes I wonder if there were even mated because if they were mum would have been here with us, that's what the mate blaze does, it ignites a fire between the mates that there burn for each other and can't live without one another but that was a different case with my parents, mom was doing just fine... I don't want a such bond, it's more of slavery... I don't want to live for anyone... through all the twenty-two years of my life, Mom has always been bitter towards Zuka and me, somewhere in my heart I just wish mom was here because no matter all the terrible things she did to me I still miss her, isn't that pathetic of me? , She betrayed us, maybe that's why I'm angry with dad and Zuka, especially dad because he never stood up for Zuka and me all those years of mom's torment, her hate grew so much that she sided with the astral shadows.
An astral shadow is a group of Astralians who practice dark magic, they are our mortal enemies and a great threat to all Astralians, the day I heard mom was nowhere to be found, I was not so surprised, I didn't know what to feel if I should be happy or sad, but after I heard she joined the astral shadows and formed an army of an ancient beast called Akutas, I knew from then that my mom was gone and that we were facing a threat, an enemy, a Hunt for lives. You see an Akuta is impossible to kill, it can only be weakened, they are shape shifters and legend says that there is one certain Akuta who took the form of a human and lives among us the fallen astral but no one knows or has heard anything from him, I had to find, it's high time we woke to the fact that Mom is getting the upper hand in this and with that, I had more reasons to find him for his knowledge and information in the Akutas even if it means keeping him hostage.
  I got up from my bed and walked over to my desk to scan through the map of the whole astral world, I let my fingers take my eyes to the point marked as the astral shadows we had to be ready for whenever they attacked, I had to set aside any mate thing or feelings I have for Luna, not that I have any, right? Ughhh ... What is wrong with me, why is she popping into my head, thinking about her brought a slight bliss, I could see her beautiful red hair like the cloud of sunset and her beautiful deep blue eyes like the oceans, how daring and bold she is, fierce and firm, how cute she looks when she is nervous and how adorable her face was when I joked about the clothes thing with her, there is a connection that keeps dragging me to her, an intense connection, something inspiring, something passionate, is it the mate thing, yes, it must be it, I can't like her, not to talk of falling in love with her, me, Hadrian Lockwood prince of the fallen astral fall in love? No way the thought of falling in love made me wanna puke, but I still couldn't help but feel the thrill as I let out a big ha and looked out the window to see the big city, I need to talk to dad, it's time to stop dying over mom's betrayal and wake up to the fact that she is ready to kill us anytime, just like the way she killed king Killian, and with that final thought in mind, I teleported to dad's chamber.
   I arrived at the room door and was about to knock when I felt no presence in the room, which means dad was in his throne room... I remembered my hair was a mess and then I got back to a bun .... And teleported to dad's throne room, the throne was just a basic kings throne with a skull crested with a half moon as the fallen asleep symbol, dad had his back to me, I know he knew I was here, but wouldn't face me, only to let out a growl and deep baritone voice as he spoke
   "What do you want " he questioned
  " Father I bring reports from the last mission, I was sent on" I answered, and with that he turned to face me, my father, the king was also a warrior, he was well built and masculine, and his eyes were a  deep brown shade with a low blonde hair gelled to the back, a face well defined with a nice stubble beard on his chiseled jawline, his crown was not on his head but the seat of the throne, my eyes met his, and I all I could see was a weary soul, something the betrayal of my mom had done to him, from what I knew king Killian and dad were best friends, so after mom launched an attack on the king's family and killed him, he had always blamed himself for it.
  " Speak up child, did you find my friend's daughter" he inquired
" Yes I did father, she is truly powerful, she has undergone a few training and she is a fast lesson " I answered and he smiled, it was so nice to see him smile  after so many years, a genuine smile
  " Just as legend foretold that the daughter of Killian would hold great powers, I want to meet her, prepare a banquet for we shall welcome the princess of all astralians," he said joyfully
  " As you say father," I said with a nod, bowing in respect " and father?"
  " Yes, speak "
   " There's been an attack in the northern borders, investigation proved that it was carried out by the Bektus and Akutas, we both know that this means mom is set on hunting all the purebloods, if she finds out we have Luna then the institute would be her next target, Luna can't be hurt no matter what, she holds the key to the peace of the astralians, " I said boldly, I don't know why but the thought of Luna getting hurt brought a cold strike to my heart why? Maybe it's the mate thing, I don't like this feeling,
  " You are right Hades, do what is necessary, we can't let her bring more harm to this world, now tell me something, what connection do you feel with Luna, I can tell from your words that you like her," he said that with a bring, do I like Luna? Is it that obvious? How do you know if you  like someone even if I liked Luna, I can't talk about it with my dad, that's not my ideal conversation with him, and the moment was awkward, I cleared my throat and brought my hands to the back of my neck
   " Uhmm ... wh... What dad, I..I.. don't like Luna, we only met a few days ago and she was asleep all those days, she just woke up yesterday and our meetings have not been great that wouldn't lead to liking right?". I blabbered and stuttered like a fool, ugh I need to get out of here and sleep, yes sleep, that's what I need right now, dad let out a big laugh and came down the stairs of his throne chambers, and stood beside me as he placed his hand on my right shoulder.
   " There's nothing wrong with that son, I know you like her and I pray the wood goddess to bless both of you as a mate," he said, patted my shoulder, and vanished.
She already has, I thought to myself, Luna, why you... Feeling slightly dizzy, I teleported back to my room as I took a cold shower and lay on my bed as I fell into a deep sleep...
