A Traitor

Sung Gi and Changmin are stationed in front of Kang Dong Won's laboratory building. They wait for the professor to exit the building, and when he does, they secretly follow him in his car from behind. They've been following the man for the past two days, but there's nothing suspicious about his movements. He simply walks home after leaving work.
"We can't keep waiting for something like this to appear; when we follow him like this, something bad may have already happened somewhere..." Sung Gi expresses his concern to Changmin, who is in the same car as him.
"Then, sir, what is our strategy?" The younger man inquires solemnly. At first, the detective appears hesitant.
"Let's break into his house tonight," he finally decides. He can't just sit back and wait while Dr Smith takes another step toward creating an invincible army. What if he uses his vampire army to put another human being in danger? It could turn out to be a disaster for everyone.
"All right," Changmin says, agreeing with his suggestion. They are paying close attention as the professor enters his private residence. They intend to wait for the man until he falls asleep and then infiltrate his home.
Even though it's nearly midnight, they can see that the light in Kang Dong Won's room is still on. This shows that the man is still awake. Changmin has been yawning for some time now, hoping for some peace and quiet. Sung Gi decides to go to a nearby market to buy them some drinks and snacks after seeing the young man almost fall asleep.
Following the detective's departure, a shadow enters the professor's house at the speed of light, escaping Changmin's notice. A gust of wind is blowing inside Professor Kang Dong Won's room. He notices that the paper on the table has been blown slightly by the wind. Kang Dong Won suddenly gets goosebumps, which he attributes to tiredness. As a result, he decides to take a break for the time being.
When the professor switched off the light, he noticed a dark shadow moving around the room. He quickly turned around to see a beautiful woman in black with red bold lipstick standing in front of him. Her unexpected appearance catches him off guard. He never imagined the lady would appear in front of him in such a way. He'd only ever seen her in a photograph.
When Changmin notices that the light in Kang Dong Won's room has been turned off, he decides to get out of the car. From outside the window, he observes the dark room. At the time, a light passed by, accidentally illuminating the room from the outside. The young man notices a shadow of professor Kang Dong Won, and a shadow of a familiar lady, Choi Moon Ryeong.
He is surprised to see the lady there; he had no idea Moon Ryeong had been following them all day, waiting for an opportunity to attack the professor. Changmin, who finally notices Lee Sung Gi walking from a distance, dashes over to the detective.
"Lady Choi Moon Ryeong, come after the professor now!" he urgently informs Sung Gi. The detective dashed towards the professor's house, closely followed by Changmin.
"Who are you?" the professor inquires of the lady after a brief pause. Moon Ryeong chuckles to herself. She is aware of his gaze. She understands the significance of his surprise expression, which he previously displayed to her."
"Didn't you already recognize me?" she asks coldly of the man.
Professor Kang Dong Won gulps his saliva as she realizes he knows her true identity. Smith had previously given him a photograph of Helios and Moon Ryeong. The man takes a step back, attempting to flee, but the lady approaches him even closer. When she is right in front of him, Moon Ryeong raises her hand and strikes the professor, knocking him unconscious to the ground.
"Brakk!!" Sung Gi smashed the door just as the lady successfully knocked the man down. He lets out a long sigh. He knew something like this was bound to happen after witnessing Moon Ryeong's previous behavior. He had intended to solve everything without resorting to violence, but the lady disagrees.
Changmin walks into the room and notices Sung Gi and Moon Ryeong standing facing each other. He also notices Kang Dong Won, who is unconscious on the floor. He slants his head. The lady has her own way of dealing with others, and she can no longer wait patiently. It's no surprise that she's a powerful and ruthless vampire.
"Caaahhh~~~!! I guess we should bring the professor in to be interrogated now, haha "He tries to make light of the situation in order to ease the tension between the two vampires.
Professor Kang Dong Won is kidnapped and held hostage at the mansion. When Sung Gi and Changmin return to the mansion with the unconscious professor, Min Seol and Jae Rim are taken aback. There was no prior plan to kidnap the man. Moon Ryeong then appears behind them, indicating that the lady has taken action as part of the plan to capture the professor.
Moon Ryeong is tying the professor to a chair. She then takes a full bucket of water and splashes it on the professor, causing him to wake up. He is jolted awake from a deep sleep to discover that he is being interrogated in a dark and closed room. Moon Ryeong approaches the man, her gaze fixed on him.
"Where is Helios?" she inquires bluntly. Kang Dong Won snorted, then burst out laughing, mocking the lady.
"What would I gain by telling you that, lady? Even if I had to die here, I would never speak out." Kang Dong Won is obstinate. He, like Smith, has a thirst for power and has been collaborating with him for years. Even though his life is at stake, he does not want their plan to fail.
Moon Ryeong, irritated by his mocking behavior, loses her patience and grabs the bucket, almost hitting the man with it, but Sung Gi, who is also present, intervenes and stops her. When she becomes enraged, she has the potential to lose control. Sung Gi shakes his head, signaling for her to stop.
"We won't be able to find him any faster if you do this, so don't let your frustration get the best of you. It would only make matters worse "The detective gives the lady some advice.
Moon Ryeong is aware that her emotions have been consuming her for the past few days; she feels as if she can't think clearly and is in a hurry to find the great vampire. She is fighting the ticking clock, and it appears that the more time passes, the deeper the burden grows into her chest, and it will explode at any moment.
"Knock knock," someone suddenly knocks on the door.
Sung Gi motions for Moon Ryeong to take a break, then walks over to the door and opens it. Song Jae Rim appears behind the closed door. He can see the current state of the dark room and how unhappy Moon Ryeong is for a brief moment. It hurt him to see her slowly disintegrate over time.
"Moon Ryeong-ssi... There is someone who would like to meet you," the chairman said softly.
Who on earth is looking for her in this situation, frowns the lady. She brushes her hair before exiting the room and walking directly to the living room. A young woman in her twenties stands tall in the center of the room. She recognizes her, but she's not sure how she got here now.
"How did you manage to avoid death after what happened?" Moon Ryeong inquires, suspiciously. Han Areum is one of the inhibitants who was present when the mansion was attacked, causing every human being to be brutally killed. Dr Smith is the only person she believes survived the death. But she was mistaken; Han Areum is still alive.
"When everything happened, miss, I had to hide myself," she says politely to Moon Ryeong. The mistress remains silent and only stares at the young girl. She never liked her from the beginning, and her sudden appearance after the tragedy made Moon Ryeong wary of her. She may have escaped death before, but what brought the young maid back there?
"I'd like to tell you where Sir Helios is at the moment..." Areum explains why she wants to find Moon Ryeong. The mistress's gaze demands an explanation, so even if she doesn't ask, she tells her reason for being there.
"How? How do you know where he is? How can we believe you?" Moon Ryeong has serious doubts about the young girl. She has no faith in her.
Areum bites her lower lip, hesitant to reveal the truth to the mistress. But she is well aware that if she does not speak, the lady will never trust her. As a result, she made a decision.
"I am the daughter of Maurice Sylvestre, Dr Smith is my father," Areum finally reveals her true identity.
After learning the truth, Moon Ryeong's chest bursts into flames. Was Areum attempting to approach Helios and capture his attention as part of Smith's cruel plan? She disliked the maid because she was always putting her rebels in front of her and getting her way to be in a close relationship with Helios. Was everything part of their plan from the beginning?
Can they trust Areum now that she has offered to tell them where Helios is? Was it just another trap set for them? She has absolutely no idea.

Pretence often creates distance between people and reality. While it can serve a purpose—like protecting feelings or navigating social situations—over time, it tends to erode trust and authenticity. Genuine connection usually thrives in honesty.
