For the Battle

"PLAKK!!" Moon Ryeong walks up to the young maid and slaps her hard. Her impulsive behavior surprised everyone in the room yet again.
Areum, on the other hand, takes a deep breath and expresses her displeasure with her treatment. She directs her gaze directly into the mistress's eyes, giving her a death glare. The female vampire has no right to slap her in this manner.
"How dare you," Moon Ryeong said, her teeth clenched.
"How you wish we could trust you after stabbing Helios in the back and conspiring with Smith! What are you planning to do right now?" The mistress is furious.
"Don't you think I'm not the one who hurt him? You are the one who always pushes him into a corner and breaks his heart... Despite the fact that... He genuinely loves you. In this situation, you are not the one who speaks!" Areum dared to disagree with Moon Ryeong. She had just witnessed everything and was tired of being a bystander.
She wants to believe that Moon Ryeong is to blame for everything. If Helios does not love her and is consistently rejected by her, the great vampire will not face his own doom. As a result, she is confident that her father's scheme will not fool him.
Moon Ryeong, who heard Areum's words, feels desperate, and she believes the maid is correct. She also blamed herself for every pain Helios endured as a result of her actions. She is the one who brings Smith into their lives and into their mansion. Helios has been wary of the scientist since the beginning, but she has always welcomed him out of curiosity about human life.
She is the sole reason Helios accepts the scientist in order to conduct the experiment that may allow them to walk during the day. She is responsible for everything. If she hadn't allowed Smith to enter their lives and gradually persuade Helios to trust him. All of this tragedy could have been avoided if she had listened to Helios' advice and avoided the scientist from the start. She is the one who brings doom into Helios' life.
Moon Ryeong is on the verge of crying, but she restrains herself from crying in front of anyone. As a result, she lifts her chin and stares into the air to keep her tears from falling.
"If you are Smith's daughter, you may also be our adversary. So, why did you decide to assist us?" Sung Gi stands up and taps Moon Ryeong on the shoulder before joining the conversation between the two women. Areum appears to be having difficulty providing clear answers, as she lowered her head before speaking.
"Because Sir Helios is important to me... But, due to my lack of power, I am powerless to stop my father from doing all of this. As a result, I'm looking for assistance from her, who is more powerful than I am, as well as your assistance..." Areum explains her reasoning.
She knows she can rely on Moon Ryeong to possibly save Helios more than herself, and she feels relieved when she notices Lee Sung Gi is also present. She deduces that the man is a vampire based on an old photograph of him she obtained from Helios' secret safe. A normal human would not live as long as him.
"Are you concerned about Helios?" Moon Ryeong inquires further about this. She is aware that the mistress continues to doubt her. She has always been wary of her and dislikes her.
"Yes, because I'm in love with him." In front of Moon Ryeong, Areum makes a strong statement. The lady is surprised by her responses. Areum tells her clearly about her feelings for the great vampire because she wants the mistress to know that there is someone else who loves the vampire. She wants Moon Ryeong to know that she will always try to win Helios' heart every time she hurts him, and if she continues to break his heart, she will certainly lose her position in Helios' heart.
Areum's declaration successfully turns Moon Ryeong's expression bitter. That bothers her in some way. Jae Rim, who has been watching the lady from his vantage point, recognizes her dilemma. But the lady quickly conceals herself.
"So, tell us where he is." Moon Ryeong asks directly, not wanting the young girl to continue talking about her feelings for the great vampire.
Now, the three vampires and three humans have gathered and are sitting in a circle to discuss Helios' whereabouts. Areum brings up a blueprint of the underground secret laboratorium built by Smith and his team. She stole the blue print from her father's office to figure out the building's details.
"I'm looking for a secret entrance that will allow us to enter unnoticed, but there isn't one. The only way in is through the main door, which can only be opened from the inside. However, when there is a blackout, this system can be broken for a short time and opened from the outside." The maid begins to describe the location of the laboratorium in detail.
Areum informed everyone that she would enter the laboratorium on her own as usual, and that she would leave a sign on the entrance door that would prevent the entrance door from closing completely. She also tells them where the CCTV camera outside the laboratorium is so they don't get caught by the group of onlookers.
Smith has been working on the secret laboratorium since discovering a vampire flower that grows only in Korea. He used the gems Helios gave him to support the building and make it underground inside a restricted area of a deep forest that few humans visit.
He had been carrying out the experiment there. Smith and the other scientist would use a human with a physically strong figure as a subject in their experiment to create a perfect army. They would then inject a virus they created into the body, causing DNA mutation and transformation into a vampire-like creature. After successfully transforming them into artificial vampires, they would brainwash the subjects so that they would only obey their commands.
"Until now, there have been at least thirty successful subjects who have been planted as laboratory guards. We must be cautious not to cross paths with them there. Sir Helios' is in this particular room. The room has high security and a large number of guards to prevent him from escaping if he ever wakes up. In a previous trial, they had also attempted to brainwash him... But I don't know what happened yet..." Areum is hesitant to proceed.
Even if they successfully enter the laboratory and locate Helios, it is possible that he will not recognize them and will only listen to Smith's order. Her explanation caused everyone to fall silent. But they are well aware that their ultimate goal is not only to save Helios, but also to prevent Smith from using his army against the rest of the world. To avoid the end of the world, they must permanently destroy his experiment.
"In which forest is the laboratorium?" Changmin inquires, his mind racing with possibilities.
"The forest of Gongwon. It is deep within the forest "They are informed by the young girl. Changmin's eyes light up when she tells them the location.
"I knew it. We previously tracked down Dr Lim's location, which led us to Gongwon Forest. But I can't seem to find anything. I won't, because they're underground!" The young man is relieved that he has finally found an answer to a riddle that has been bothering him. He triumphantly smiles at Min Seol and informs her that his device has successfully entered the secret laboratory; he has not failed.
"But we need a lot of strength to enter the laboratory and fight the artificial vampires... With our current numbers, it is nearly impossible for us to enter the laboratory and safely escape." The detective performs his calculation.
"I stole these for that reason." Areum pulls out a suitcase and opens it on the table. Inside the case are six guns and bullets in the shape of a small ball.
"Is that the sunsa bullet they created?" Min Seol takes the bullet and carefully examines it.
"Yes. But I'm only allowed to steal so much. We can use it to kill the artificial vampires if necessary; my father designed the bullet in case the vampires get out of control and he needs to execute them."
"Good. I'll try to contact my entire family as a backup plan. But we can't wait for them to arrive before attacking. The longer we wait, the stronger Smith may become..." The detective comes to a decision.
They are all aware that they are in a battle for their lives. The mission they must complete is extremely dangerous. They decide to rest that night and prepare for the battle the next day. When the discussion is finished, they return to their own room.
When Changmin is almost go to his room, Min Seol hold his hand and prevent him to go. The two of them is the only person left on the livingroom.
Min Seol grabs Changmin's hand and prevents him from entering his room. They are the only two people left in the living room.
"You can't join this battle," the young lady tells her companion. Changmin frowns, puzzled as to why she suddenly refuses to let him join them when he has been with them all along.
"What exactly do you mean? We're all in this together "He objects to the girl.
"No Changmin... You are not like the rest of us. You're just a regular person. Our adversaries are far more powerful than you. I don't want you to risk your life for all of this. You have your own life, after all..." Min Seol expresses her concern, not wanting the young man to be killed in the vampire battle.
"Since I met you, my life has been intertwined with yours..." Changmin whispers softly, caressing her cheecks. Min Seol is drawn closer by the young man, who then connects their lips for a light kiss.
"Don't worry... I wouldn't abandon you in the battle; all of us will return safely," he tries to persuade the young girl. Min Seol is overcome with emotion and throws herself into his embrace, expressing her feelings for the young man.
Meanwhile, Moon Ryeong is alone in her room. She is looking out the large window in the room at the nightscape when she hears a knock on her door. After she grants him permission to enter, Jae Rim appears. The man approaches her and joins her.
"Moon Ryeong-ssi... I am worried about the battle," he tells her. Moon Ryeong looks at him tenderly before taking his hand in her own.
"Thank you for all of your assistance up to this point... " She is grateful that the man chose to remain by her side in this situation despite witnessing her impulsive side. Jae Rim smiles as the lady expresses her appreciation to him. Even though he can't do much, he's glad that his mere existence has meaning for her.
"But this is the end of it. You cannot go any further "When she makes a decision, the smile on Jae Rim's face fades. He can tell where this conversation is heading.
"Coming back to Ha Eun, you cannot put your life in danger for the sake of Ha Eun. This battle is extremely dangerous, and you are not permitted to enter this world." Moon Ryeong does not want Jae Rim to become involved in the dangerous life of a vampire. Throughout her time with him, the man has provided her with a pleasant experience. But she now realizes that they can't stay together forever. This is far too dangerous.
"And if for some reason I don't survive... Please forget about me and go on living a normal happy life with Ha Eun." There she is. Jae Rim shakes his head and pulls his hand away. He doesn't want to abandon Ha Eun and endanger his own life, but he also doesn't want to forget the lady vampire.
"No... Take the ring with you as a lucky charm. Please keep us in mind whenever you see the ring on your finger... I'd be waiting for you to return safely..."

Pretence often creates distance between people and reality. While it can serve a purpose—like protecting feelings or navigating social situations—over time, it tends to erode trust and authenticity. Genuine connection usually thrives in honesty.
