Hopeless

"Ehm... They're... a new recruitment my father requested of me," the young girl lied. The man is skeptical and tilts his head. However, he then allowed them to pass through without interruption. They have an odd feeling yet don't want to waste their time there. As a result, they decide to continue. But they had no idea that the scientist who had just bumped into them was pulling out his phone and contacting for help.
"Sir, the intruder is approaching," he reports to Smith.
Dr. Smith is currently working in his private laboratory when he receives a phone call. He then checks the CCTV footage and notices a familiar face creeping about with his daughter. When he sees that, his lips twist into a smile.
"I know," he says casually in response to the report, as if it isn't a huge deal.
In the meantime, the group is heading down an empty corridor. There is something peculiar about the silence, as if even the wind is hesitant to blow. They don't hear any voices; it's just too quiet and empty, which seems uncomfortable.A quick black shadow approaches them at the speed of light from no where out of sudden.
The shadow successfully struck Changmin, who was unprepared for the unexpected battle, and caused the young guy to collide with the equipment. With their quickness, Min Seol, Sung Gi, and Moon Ryeong can defeat the strike and successfully dodge it. They soon find that they are surrounded by three times as many artificial vampires as they are. Areum, the only one who is not attacked, can only look around confusedly.
"Plok plok plok" a hand clapping voice appears behind them. It was the scientist who bumped into them previously.
"You are truly incredible, miss; you can successfully bring three vampires into this laboratory at the same time. It's no surprise, given that you're Dr. Smith's daughter. You had an exceptional ability to gain people's trust," the scientist says of Areum. The group is dubious of his appreciation for the little girl.
"Do you deceive us in order to trap us here?" Moon Ryeong inquires in disbelief. The other three members similarly look at Areum with skepticism. It makes the young girl feel hemmed in.
"No, I really want to help you. They are attempting to frame me!" Areum is desperate to defend herself. Moon Ryeong and the other members are at a crossroads: should they trust the young girl or not? After all, were they really able to simply break down the enemy lair because of her, or was it all a set up to trap them?
"Oh fella... Don't say things like that about us, miss. We're on the same ship," the scientist continues, adding to Areum's frustration. In a fit of rage, she pulls out her gun and shoots the scientist. However, one of the artificially created vampires is quick enough to pull the scientist away, preventing him from being shot by Areum.
"You're a shameless girl. Catch them all," the scientist orders the artifical vampire immediately now. The enemies appear quickly to attack them.
They are all involved in a heated battle. Areum and Changmin, two regular humans, struggle to balance the strength and speed of the artificial vampires that assault them. As a result, they instantly draw their gun to defend themselves. The other three vampires muster all of their strength to combat the enemy. Even though Min Seol can't match the enemy's speed, she has the strength to hold the hit she received and send one of the enemies flying through the air with her fist.
Sung Gi, on the other hand, was only trying to protect himself from a physical attack made by one of the three vampires who were ganging up on him. He then delivers a powerful punch to the vampire's head, causing his body to be propelled behind. He then notices another man approaching him from behind. Sung Gi dodges him and catches his hand, twisting it tightly and elbowing his back neck with full force. Make him kiss the floor roughly. The remaining man launches another attack, but Sung Gi is quick enough to whirl around and kick the man in the stomach, sending him flying through the air.
Moon Ryeong is attacked from the front, but she catches the attacker's hand and pulls it hard, causing the man to fly through her back and crush his body on the ground. She then notices another man running in her direction and runs after him. However, when they are near together, Moon Ryeong's feet step on the wall and she jumps high. She lands on his shoulder and wraps her legs over his head. The lady then violently cracked his neck and snapped it, killing the fabricated vampire.
Even though they successfully repel the attack of the artificial vampires, their attack is never-ending because knocking them down is difficult. Artificial vampires that take heavy blows but do not die can immediately get back up and initiate another attack. Another group of fabricated vampires joins the attack to help their comrades. It's a never-ending war.
"Moon Ryeong-ssi! Moon Ryeong-ssi! We'd run out of time if we all fought here. Just go with Areum and find Helios as soon as possible!!" Sung Gi issues an order in the midst of the conflict.
When Moon Ryeong heard that, she immediately turned to face Areum. She agrees with Sung Gi that they must split up to find Helios as quickly as possible, but she is skeptical of Areum, especially after what the scientist told them. She is unsure which of them is telling the truth. If Areum is on their side and pretends to be one of them, going with her alone may put her in more risk.
"That's correct! I'm sure my father is aware of the attack; he may move Helios to another location, making it hard for us to discover him!" Areum also attempts to persuade Moon Ryeong. If Areum stabbed her back later, the lady decided to voice her doubts to the young girl in order to save Helios. She'd deal with her later. For the time being, they must ensure Helios's safety. As a result, the two women emerge from the battle to find Helios.
One of the artificial vampires is going to stop Moon Ryeong and Areum from leaving, but Sung Gi is quick enough to become their shield and ruthlessly attack the vampire. They need to keep the fraudulent vampires here as long as possible so that the two women can reach Helios before anything worse happens. In a long empty corridor, Areum and Moon Ryeong run together. Moon Ryeong has the ability to run far quicker than the human, but she doesn't know where Helios is, so she has no choice but to match her speed.
"He's in the room at the end of this corridor." Areum, who is aware that Moon Ryeong will be able to find the great vampire more quickly, promptly informs the lady as they arrive at the correct hallway. When she heard that, Moon Ryeong dashed to the end of the corridor at the speed of light.
The door is automatically locked with a password system, but this does not prevent Moon Ryeong from opening it. She kicks the metal door many times with full force till it breaks. She then entered the room and was taken aback by the view in front of her.
Helios is shackled to a metal chair, with a helmet attached to a brainwashing system on his head. There is a mechanism in place that continuously injects anesthesia into his body to keep him from waking up. His left hand received blood transfusions via the system, while his other hand is linked to a machine that can drain his blood. It appears that his body is being utilized as a tool to convert any blood he receives that is processed inside his body into vampire blood. This is extremely inhuman; how could they treat him as if he were merely a tool when he is also a living being? It tore Moon Ryeong's heart to shreds.
It enraged the lady to see how cruelly they treated the man in front of her. Helios can only sit there helplessly, eyes closed. She instantly approached him and attempted to free him. She is perplexed as to how she will stop every piece of equipment placed on his body; she has no idea. What if one wrong step causes him even more pain?
Moon Ryeong then tries but fails to remove the metal helmet off his head. It had a powerful hold on him. She then attempted to decipher the main system that controls all of the devices here. Moon Ryeong tries to break the system with her bare hands out of despair. Her powerful fist slowly shattered the machine, and a lot of electric sparks sprang out of it, giving her an electric shock. She takes a quick break to inspect her hand; it is scorched, but she seems unconcerned. She continues her actions until the system is completely broken, with no light on.
The lady then rushes up to Helios and attempts to remove his helmet. It's a success on the second try. She then carefully removes the anesthetic injection, followed by the clear tube placed on his body to drain his blood. Moon Ryeong notices that it has left an open wound on Helios' hand, causing him to bleed. As a result, she rips her own garments and uses the tatter as a bandage on his hand.
She then kneels in front of Helios, who is unconscious and sitting on the metal chair. She shatters the chain on his hand. She softly takes his hand in hers and kisses it sweetly. Tears streamed down her cheek.
"Can you hear me, Helios? Please get up..." She has been trying to reach him and is desperate to see the man open his eyes. However, Helios's eyeslids do not open at all. She is unsure whether it is due to the anaesthetic medicine in his system or anything else. Helios' lips are bluer than usual, his hand is colder, and his skin is paler than usual. He doesn't appear to be a live being at all. What has she done to bring him to this point?
Moon Ryeong then drew his neck closer for an embrace, holding him tightly and sobbing. She kept repeating his name in the hopes that he would wake up soon. But the man makes no movement at all.

Pretence often creates distance between people and reality. While it can serve a purpose—like protecting feelings or navigating social situations—over time, it tends to erode trust and authenticity. Genuine connection usually thrives in honesty.
