I already saw the sign back then and the major thing is the continuous attacks. Why didn't I notice this sooner? And who dare try to attack us? Are they confident that they can bring us down? Using such petty tricks.
"Lady Alora focus." I stare at the Crown Prince and the beast he just killed in front of me. That was close I didn't notice I was being drowned by my thoughts while we are fighting.
"I'm sorry, Your Highness, that was so careless of me." I sighed and look around the Imperial Knights came rushing as they help the students. They made it in time. The armed knights can suppress the beasts in no time.
"You can now go inside we can take care of this!"
"Students must go inside." I heard the knights shout that and some of them escort the students inside. I hide on His Highness I was taking this opportunity to take some rest while there is still no beasts that were attacking.
"You look tired, you should rest now." He looks at me and I shake my head.
"No, I can still fight." I take a deep breath and tighten my grasp on the sword.
"You sure? your pale than the usual." I was surprised that I moved my head when he tried to touch my face, his eyes widened, and cleared his throat before asking for forgiveness before putting his hands down. "I didn't mean to touch you without consent. Anyways, you must head inside."
"This was nothing, we need to move. There are still beasts that were roaming around."
"If you say so then I will watch your back."
"Yeah." We watch each other's back and manage to control everything and made the casualties less. Everyone was shocked by that as you can hear cries, well we just almost die from that.
"Let me heal you, Lady Alora." I give my hand to Leticia and close my eyes. It was warm and I feel like all of my fatigue has left my body. When she slightly pinch my hands I opened my eyes.
"Thank you."
"You did a great job again, you too Your Highness."
"The same for you, Leticia."
"Yes." She bows her head and left to attend to others. I sat on the ground and hug myself as I watched them getting the dead bodies of beasts so they can burn them. A while ago they were causing ruckus here and now they're all lifeless.
"Lady Alora you must not sit on the ground, you should head inside and rest." I look at His Highness and nod.
"I just want to stay here for a moment." It feels like I have no strength at all to go back inside.
"Okay, but make sure to head inside. I'll go monitor the other students there if you need something you can tell it to... to the knights that were guarding."
"Yeah." I watch as the knights burned the beasts, the smell of the burning flesh of those beasts was disgusting. Beasts should be burned after they got killed because after an hour their body will release toxins that can kill in a minute. They need to rush things because some of the bodies were almost ready to release toxins.
"My Lady, let's head inside now. You need to change and have some rest." I look at my nightgown which was covered with blood. I nodded and Leah help me to stand when I heard some noise. I saw Damien riding on his horse, so, they were already here in the capital.
"Alora! Are you fine?!" I laugh and using my fire magic I made a bow and arrow, why? To shoot him.
"Die you bastard." I was targeting him many times and he manage to dodge it.
"What was that for?!" He asked and was heavily sighing when he stopped in front of me.
"That is because I hate you."
"Nothing changed. I'm sorry I was late, something showed up before we made here." I look at him from head to toe and sighed once again.
"I was disappointed that you seem fine."
"Why don't we talk inside?" he asked while looking intently at my state.
"I hate you. You are such a liar."
I notice some students and knights saw how I attack Damien but didn't say a word. Damien silently follows me inside and when we got inside my room I go straight to the bathroom. I was in the tub for minutes when I heard a knock, I didn't notice that I fell asleep there.
"Alora, still alive?"
"Idiot. Do you want me to kill you when I finally got outside?" He laughed and I stand up so I can wipe my body.
"I thought something happen to you." He said in a low voice and it take a long time before I answer.
"I am not hurt." We went silent after that and when I get dressed I opened the door and face him. He was sitting on the couch and was staring at the door while playing with his hands.
"You know when I was Levan I just do is work day and night. I miss the academy, the lessons, skipping classes." He started talking and I lean on the door while listening to him.
"So, you skip class."
"Yes, it's because the subject was boring. Then I will go to the palace, tease your brothers. Got beaten in the training grounds and it was repeated every day. I think your brothers were secretly holding a grudge against me. They're my friends but they were being mean to me, Is that because they were getting older and older?"
"Boring."
"Yeah, boring. I know you are mad at me, forgive me."
"Why did you keep it a secret from me? I deserve to know."
"It was your father who told us to not say a word to you, I don't know why. When did you find out?"
"Just a while ago, I finally put all the missing pieces. Now, I want you to tell me everything."
"If I tell what I know, you won't get mad at me anymore?"
"Gonna think about it."
"Haa, that was a bit unfair. Okay, if you remember I told you that the Prime Minister called us, me and Kaden too. Well, the palace was attacked, and the day we were discussing about strengthening the security in the palace, the holy grail was stolen. Luckily it was found but next to occur was the tyrant king of Wren he said he wanted to marry Princess Marina. And if they didn't send them they will bring down Levan."
"It was Levan that was being targeted then why Dormer too?"
"The Emperor was secretly helping Levan, and they sent your family to protect Levan and the Imperial family. But we think Wren planted a spy on the palace that is why they are also attacking Dormer. We manage to keep this a secret so everyone won't panic. Tomorrow the Imperial carriage will be sent here we need to go to the palace and discuss things with the emperor. Because any moment messenger from Wren will arrive."
"If you just told this to me, then I, without doubt, will capture the Imperial prince and slit his throat. Gosh, I really want his head my hands were itching to do that."
"Of course, you won't do that without a plan, and without your father's consent you won't make a move." I glare at him and he shrugs. "Just spitting facts."
I hate that he was right.
"Let's not think about the war that may break out, we need strength for tomorrow so take a rest."
"Just you know I am still mad, so you can now leave my room. Good night, Damien."
"Wait, the men's dormitory was a mess. I saw that it was the building that has a lot of damage, I do not know if our room was still fine."
"Well, that was not my problem anymore."
"You're so cruel. I am your fiancé."
"Go now." I pushed him and he nodded.
"Okay. Good Night, My Lady." He comes closer to me and gives me a kiss. "I miss you; I was grateful that you were safe while I was gone."
"Do I look weak to you?"
"Yeah, sometimes." And he kissed me once again, this was longer than before.
"Hey, stop it. Are you planning this from the start?"
"What are you saying?" he laughs and before he kisses me once again I put my hands on his lips. He laughed and I slightly slap his lips.
"Liar. I'm going to sleep now; you can sleep in that room. And you are banned from my room from this day."
"Are you seriously going to leave me here?"
"Yeah." I wave my hand and rest. When I woke up Damien didn't get inside my room and was waiting for me outside. Well, I was expecting him beside me when I woke up.
"Good morning."
"Morning."
"Glad you are already awake, let's eat breakfast now."
"Mm." After we ate and left the dormitory, I saw some students leaving. Some carriages were parked and the students that still waiting for their turn.
"Good morning, Sir Damien, Lady Alora."
"Greeting to his Imperial Highness."
"As you can see the Head Master was sending the students, the academy will close in the meantime. To ensure the students' safety the class will resume in a month when the magic department is already successful in making a barrier."
"I see..." I watch the students for a second and look at the two of them. "We are heading to the palace are you going with us, Your Highness?"
"Yes, the emperor wants me to the palace today."
"Then let's depart now, shall we?"
"Yes."
"I assume that the lady and Sir Damien already know why we are needed to the palace."
"Yes, Damien told me last night."
"So, you two are okay now?"
"Yes, Your Highness."
"That's good to hear, well, I saw how you attack him. Everyone was shocked by that."
"Oh, Haha. Pardon me, Your Highness, I'm a bit ashamed that you all need to see that. I was just pissed that night that I didn't control my hand, it moves on its own." I ended with a laugh and it was written on his face that he does think of me as a strange one.
"Ah Haha... I see." He laughed awkwardly but I remained my smiling face.
"It already happened and I'm fine I avoid all the attacks." I look at Damien and secretly rolled my eyes. I am still pissed at him did he forget?
"We already arrived at the palace, Your Highness." I look outside and sighed.
"We greet the Crown Prince, Lord Alaric, and Lady Astley. The council and the emperor are already waiting for the three of you."
"Lead the way."
"Yes, Crown Prince."
