Chapter 39: Hana's POV

The sound of a running tap wakes me up and I arise from the large bed which I just found myself sleeping on. I freak out, my eyes widening open when I realize I'm wearing different dress. A long satin sleeping gown.
I feel the pain in my arm, where the bullet has grazed me. I think someone dressed my injury and changed my clothes! I hope it's not a man!
Throwing my eyes across the large room, I try to recall the last thing that happened to me before I got here. I can tell that I'm in another different location, not within the Dante estate.
When my last memory returns to me, I recall being choked by Federico before he pushed me into his car. That is, after the gold heist was over and they've killed so many security men.
Federico and his men must've brought me here directly from the estate. As far as I can remember, he said something about a Consigliere who has paid a hefty amount of money to have me delivered to him. I suppose this is the place of the said Consigliere who has paid to have me here, is it?
Moving out of the bed, I see a door to my right which I think will be where that sound of a running water is coming from. I suspect it might be the bathroom.
Before I can enter, I hear the sound of another door opening from behind me which causes me to turn around, a little bit startled.
A uniformed woman walks into the room, smiling at me. "Please follow me. My boss will like to have a word with you Ma'am." She says, slightly nodding her head.
I don't nod at her in return. Because I want her to feel unwelcome and I also don't want her to take me lightly. I don't want any of them to think I will allow them to mess with me.
"Who is your boss?" I ask. "And why does he wants to see me? Why did he had me kidnapped and forcefully brought here?"
"You will meet him now and ask him those questions by yourself."
"I'm not going anywhere if you don't tell me who I'm meeting. Doesn't your boss have a name?"
"I'm sorry. I'm just a maid. I'm not permitted to call the boss's name."
"But no one is here to punish you for that. You either tell me, or you go back and tell your boss to come to me by himself. I'm sure he has legs, doesn't he?"
The maid's eyes widen in shock. "I hope you don't say that in front of anyone else, Ma'am. My boss's name is Sergio Alfonso. If that's enough to make you follow me. I'm just doing what I'm told to do."
I'm still in mild shock. That name, Sergio Alfonso. No, just the Alfonso. I think that was the same name written on the plate number of the SUV's from before. Since that time when Kai was kidnapped in front of our home. How will I ever forget that?
I will like to see the man who put my brother through so much trouble. "Lead the way," I say, "later when you come back to this room, turn off the running water." I add and she nods in response.
I follow the maid out of the room.
Walking down the massive hallway, I can tell that whoever designed this house has really been too extravagant. I can't even count the number of the chandeliers spiraling down from the ceiling. It looks richer than the Dante estate.
Awe struck by the riches catching my eyes, I don't realize we've arrive at a double door archway, until the uniformed lady threw it open.
"You go left, Ma'am."
With that, she bow her head and wait for me to enter. Then I hear the door closing behind me as I stare at the universe of a luxurious sitting room before me.
Just how powerful are those people?
I pity Kai. He shouldn't have gotten himself involved with a man as rich as Sergio Alfonso. I feel his cruelty even before I can walk to the place I'm supposed to meet him.
Sighing, I drag my feet towards the left door I see. I feel defeated, there's no way for me to save Kai from the trouble he's gotten himself into. Even though he probably did it for me. For us. To be able to take care of our small family.
Opening the door, different types of aroma welcomes me. It's a dining area, and there's an old man at the far end of the dining. With a handsome younger chef in an apron, serving him food.
"You came. Get seated and have your breakfast." The chef says to me, smiling.
"Eoh? Breakfast?" I mutter confusedly. So it's morning? But I didn't even brush my teeth.
As I shrug off the idea of brushing my teeth, I pull back a chair and sit. Food comes before questions and arguments. I need to have enough energy to be able to intimidate this old man.
I don't say anything anymore. And while the old man takes his fork and spoon, beginning to eat in silence, the chef walks to my side and serve me with just one plate of a weird looking Macaroni.
"Enjoy your food." He says.
Look here. Don't you have any normal Korean dish?
I want to ask that, but the chef's smiling face disarms me and I watch him walk away. He's so tall and cute.
I thought my plan was to intimidate them with a rude attitude? I groan, mentally. The old man is not Korean, obviously. He's either Italian or Spanish, I think. But the younger Chef looks more like a half Korean.
I take a spoonful of Macaroni to my mouth, but stop the spoon halfway. Returning to my senses, I drop the spoon back and clear my throat. "I'm not eating anything without knowing what you people want from me." I say, adamantly.
But the rude old man silently continues to eat his food. He looks like that kind of person who can kill you for interrupting his meal time.
Turning my body to face his direction, I lean back against my chair, crossing my arms to my chest. I'm waiting for him to finish eating and respond to me.
Almost fifteen minutes later, the handsome Chef returns and gives the old man some drugs to take. And after he did, the Chef slowly pulls away the man's chair. Wait, what? It's not a chair, it's wheelchair!
