At the time I got to the house, it looked like I had gotten all my memories back. But, there was one thing still remaining, that was, what happened last night! Of all my memories coming back to me like flashes, I couldn't grasp what happened last night, nor what happened previously. It only stopped at where I was driving home in my car. Jessica parked the car in the garage, so I got down, took my bag from the back of the car where it laid and started walking into the house. But, I stopped and looked back. Something was missing, it's the car, one of the cars that was supposed to be in the garage was missing. "Jess, one of the cars... It's not here again? What do you think? I asked her, anticipating a strong reply from her, but she shook her head and shrugged. "Do you think she took the kids to school already? Or perhaps the driver had to take it out to get something? She didn't say anything, she just looked at me like I was gibbering rubbish. "Jess, say something. I'm asking you because I feel you might have an idea of what could be the reason the car isn't parked where it's supposed to be." "And, what if I don't have an answer to that, will you then stop asking me? I guess this is where I stop throwing questions at her and do my own thing. I got to the entrance and unlocked the door with a key from the bunch of keys I took out from my bag, then I entered inside the house with Jessica following after. The first place I entered was their rooms, the kids' rooms. Their bags weren't there, so was the uniforms, school shoes as well, same with their school books when I checked the shelf. I also noticed that some comic books were missing. "Jessica, I think Nancy prepared them for school today." I said to Jessica, smiling calmly. "Really, why, why do you say so? What made you think that? Jessica asked me in bewilderedness. She must be shocked and impressed that with just a look in my house I could detect what might have happened. I smiled broadly and tried to explain with pride why I thought that. "You see, I checked the kids' school bags, their school shoes and every single thing they could have won or taken to school and all of them were missing. That leaves me with no other option than the fact that they were taken to school." I finished off. Jessica stared at me wide eyed. She started to say something, but then she stopped, so I couldn't fathom or place whatever she had to say. "Hey girl, go on, say what you want to say. I am all ears." I said to her. She swallowed hard before she spoke up. "Well, uhm, why don't we check Nancy's room. Perhaps, we might find something or a support to your claim." "Yeah, yeah that's a good idea. I didn't think about that earlier." We went downstairs, through the stairway to Nancy's room which was off the sitting room, after the hallway. When I got there, I opened the door and walked inside, with Jessica coming behind me. I looked around cautiously. Her bed was well dressed, that is the way she leaves it whenever she is leaving the house, one of her bag was missing, then one she likes using. I tried to use my head to figure every details of hers. "Well Jess, everything seems good. I think she should be at work right now. Her bed is well dressed, so she definitely left the house, her bag and I think her sandal as well is no longer here. I'm tired of stating facts, but I am sure that the kids are in school and Nancy is at work. Oh goodness, thank God. Atleast, that's aside my worries now." I said, then I walked out of the room. "Are you being serious right now? That you have finalized that your children are in school and Nancy at work and maybe the driver in a supermarket with the car pricing a pack of cigarettes? I turned around and looked at her surprised, "well yeah. I mean, what else do you want me to believe aside that. Those are proofs enough." I replied dryly. "Oh goodness, you Sonia are really a moron I must say. No wonder you failed your intellectual exam. You couldn't even think straight." "Atleast I thought well enough to gain myself entrance into Shiseido Cosmetic Company and not only did I stop there, I am now manager in this state, isn't that beautiful? I asked sarcastically. "You don't want to play that game with me Sonia, you don't want to." I replied angrily. "Well, I really don't want to, but you are forcing me. Atleast, you started the game already, perhaps you are ready to end it." I answered her. By this time, I had gotten to the sitting room, so I sat down with full force. I inhaled deeply, then let it off for a while. I did it two more times and I was satisfied with myself. "You stubborn big headed brat, what are you trying to say right now? Jessica spurted in annoyance. Why was she angry huh, I wondered. Was it a bad idea to just become smart all of a sudden. Well, I was never dl anyway. "Jessica, please sit down, I don't see the reason why you are standing. I don't have the time or strength to argue with you. So, just sit." "You said I started the game right? Maybe I should end it already or you're tired so soon? This lady, always trying to bring words out my mouth. Well, the doctor said I shouldn't stress myself. Right now, I see talking too much as part of stress, so I think I should just overlook her silly behavior. "Jessica, please sit. I am tired of playing any games you have. I guess that should be for another day." She hissed lightly and say down as I asked her too, but I noticed she was angry still. "So, what would you want me to offer you? Anything, even if it warrants me to cook it." I said to her laughing, though I was serious about it. "Just check if there is any chocolates in your fridge, that will do." Jess replied a bit coldly. "Just chocolates? I asked. "Yeah, just that. I ate not quite long, I will eat later when I get hungry." She answered dryly. "Oh okay then, if you say so." With that, I got up from the sofa where I was sitting and headed to the kitchen." ** ** ** She was so ignorant, so ignorant of what was at stake. I couldn't help but stop arguing with her. It wasn't her fault, so I can't pen down on her, I had to find a way to break the bad news to her. I knew it would be devastating, but right now, I don't think I have a choice on that. How would I explain to her that one of the reasons she fainted was because we found out her children were no where to be found. How do I explain the fact that not only is her children missing, same with her househelp and their driver. If they had a gatekeeper, perhaps that one might be still be around. Oh, damn it. I could hear her humming a song. It was a school rhyme we used to sing when we were little. The more things were happening around me, the harder it was for me to break to news to her. Wait a minute, her husband hasn't called since today as I can recall vividly. If he does now, then she will answer with the ideology she has now. That will save her a lot of future stress for the meantime. I hoped patiently that he does can, before I break the news to her. Sonia returned with a tray. It contained a jar of milk, chocolates, cookies and bottle water. I smiled briefly as she walked in majestically into the sitting room. She smiled back at me before dropping the tray on the table. "So, here is your chocolate, I added milk so you can use that as urm..." "Whatever. What about the cookies, what is that for? I asked her. "That's for me, you only asked for chocolates and you added that you were fine with just it. Uhuh." "Hahahaha. You never ceases to amaze me. You know I can take some if I want to." "You should try it. Nancy made a lot of it recently, it's homemade and must confess, it's very delicious! "Oh really." I said, then I quickly grabbed a piece and threw it inside my mouth. It was really tasty, Nancy did a nice work here. "Sonia, this is very tasty, do you have plenty? I must take some home." She laughed lightly, "of course, I will pack some for you now." She got up at that instance and headed to the kitchen, to get some for me. She returned some minutes later with something on her hand and she handed it over to me. We ate the cookies and chatted as we did. I abandoned the chocolates for later. While chatting with her, I was thinking of what to do. I had to act fast, as fast as I could.
