Just as Edison started the car, though yet to move, I fixed my seat belt till I was comfortable with it. I hated seat belts, even though I am quite aware of the importance of it.
"So, Edison, where, are we heading to? I asked reluctantly.
"Well, I am about to take my Queen to a very special place. A place where only special and unique people are taken. A place and only a place where no one is allowed except on special occasions. We have a special occasion tonight." He replied, beaming in sweet smiles.
Edison was quite cute, quite handsome and he has this sweet smile that could melt your heart and sweep you off your feet. He was tall, fair, not big nor small, just normal, but he is what I can call everyman's dream.
"Edison, what you just answered now isn't the answer to the simple question I asked, come on." I said, acting like a child.
He looked at me sweetly, then bent over and cupped my jaw with his palm then brought my face closer to his, so I was facing him.
"My Queen, anything for you. I am so sorry, I was lost in your beauty so I didn't pay close attention to what you said. My sincerest apologies my Queen." He said calmly.
"Oh damn it Edison, you always know how to use your words to calm me down. I don't really fancy it. I'm a crazy little ass bitch girl, I don't want to be totally captivated by your words." I said, then removed my face from his hands and face the other side.
He stopped the car, then I heard him whisper some inaudible words to himself.
Hope I haven't gotten to his nerves this time around, I said in my heart, hoping he hasn't.
"My Queen, did I do anything wrong to you? Or don't you love me anymore? He asked in that hypnotic voice of his.
"Come on Edison, come on, I didn't say that. I love you, I really do love you, but..." I paused.
"But what, please talk to me. If there is anything you want me to fix, please tell me okay." Edison said pleadingly, that I found myself falling for him again.
"Sweetheart, that's not it at all. It's just that, I used to wonder, you see you are very cute, you are handsome, you are what almost every lady would want to go for."
"So, so what's the issue then? If I am all these names you just called me?
"That's the problem Edison, that's the problem. You see, I really have fallen in love with you, something I haven't done. But, I wonder why you are still single. Why don't you have a girl?
The next thing, he started laughing so loud, that I began to wonder why he was laughing.
"Edison, what is it? What's funny?
"Baby girl, listen, I don't have a girlfriend alright. I have been so busy with work, I travel to different states to close some business deals and sometimes I travel out of the country when I need to. So, you see, I have been very busy to notice that I am without a girlfriend." He replied, holding himself from laughing.
"Okay okay, I get it now, so stop laughing alright. I understand why you have remained single. But, promise me that you will not leave me for another lady? Promise."
"Darling, my Sweetheart, the Queen of my Empire, I only have time for you okay. So, don't be scared, I won't share you with anyone, I can be jealous you know."
"Is that a promise Edison?
"From my heart Sweetheart, trust me."
"Alright Darling, I will trust you." I convinced him.
"So now, are we ready to leave? Can I take my Queen my secret place? He asked, smiling.
"Well, yeah, I am ready to explore your secret place and your Empire my King!
He smiled, then bent over and kissed my forehead lightly, then he blushed.
I got a call, so I checked it up immediately to know who it is.
"Who is that my Queen?
"It's Clarinet." I answered, picking up the call. "Hey, what's up? Are you missing me already? I know you are bored though."
"You silly, when are you guys leaving? I'm tired of watching your silly drama from the window, you two get out of there, I mean right now! She screamed and I had to take the phone a bit far from my ear.
"Clarinet, Clarinet, calm down okay. We will leave soon. Okay, bye now, see ya later." I said, and ended the call.
"She would never let me rest, silly girl." I said to myself, then I turned to Edison, "please, I am ready now."
Edison started the car and we drove off. He said we will drive for long and then when we have enjoyed the road breeze, he will take me to a special place.
I fancied the idea, so I bought into it. He pressed a button near to the steering, and the roof of the car wind down.
It was awesome. This was the first time I was in a car as nice as this. Well, yeah, I might have met a lot of richdude, but Edison is just so awesome.
Just six months we started dating, he took over paying the house rent and he paid for three straight years! As a nurse, I hardly buy new fancy clothes, but Edison changed my wardrobe and closet, sent money for groceries almost weekly. He also send me money that I didn't have to use the general public transport. He made me feel like a real Queen. He, was the most kind person I have ever met. Sometimes, I feel I don't deserve him, due to my past silly lifestyles.
Most of the guys I have dated, were all married guys, about 90% of the guy I dated. Though, I have refused to tell him about that, since I feel it doesn't matter to me again, atleast I don't date then anymore.
"My sweet pie, do you enjoy the drive? Are you tired already?
"Hell no, I am not." I answered.
"No no, if you are tired, just let me know okay? You don't have to force yourself to like what you do not want, alright!
"I love it. I love itttttt! I screamed so loud. Taking my hands out of the car and feeling the gentle breeze with it's chilly cold.
"I am so glad you do love it. At first, I was afraid you mean fht not like it and think bits old fashioned, but now that I know you like it, I am so pleased. I will surprise you for this, my darling."
"You have a surprise for me already, so I don't think it's
important to surprise me again." I replied.
"That's, for me to decide, alright."
We drove round for about an hour more or less. I was enjoying the sight and even took pictures. Things I really don't put interest in previously. We took funny and cool pictures together, they were all beautiful.
Edison was becoming tired, then he asked that he take me to the place he wants to show me, the special place he specifically picked out for me.
I could have said no to that, but then, he was the one doing the driving, so I had to be selfless for once and agree to his demands.
In about twenty minutes, we were on the road, driving to the so called special place. Five minutes after, I saw myself standing infront of a grand suite.
I looked at Edison, then at the building, then at him again. I couldn't contain the joy that had overtaken me, so I ran to him and hugged him so tight.
"Darling, calm down, this is just the front view, you are yet to see the main deal." He said, smiling mischievously.
"Seriously? I asked, my hands over my mouth, preventing myself from screaming so loud.
"Let's go find out." He said, grabbing me by the hand quickly and walking towards the entrance of the house, while I followed after.
The building was so magnificent. I had only see them in pictures, Instagrams, Facebook and Twitter. It was more stunning in reality. I couldn't resist taking pictures of myself at the entrance of the magnificent building.
Edison gave the man at the entrance our entrance card and he allowed us to pass through. When we entered, that was when I realized that there was really a kind of heaven on Earth. The kind of people I saw made me know that only those on top class notch could actually afford this, so I became proud of myself.
We took a seat in the reserved area and sat down exclusively. Edison called for the waiter and he hurried to attend to us.
"Edison my love, this is really special. I must confess I have never been such a place as beautiful as this before. I am so glad you brought me here." I said to him smiling uncontrollably.
"I told you I would do anything for my Queen. You deserve more. The next on my list was supposed to be a surprise, but since you say no surprises, then no."
"What is it? I asked.
"A trip to Dubai."
