Breaking the challenge down like this allows you to prepare effectively. Taking a step back and asking yourself how you can prepare best not only allows you to make progress with the final task but also reduces stress. If you can see how you are going to achieve something, the prospect becomes less daunting.
Lessons can be learned and inspiration taken from great sports people and teams, and the lengths to which they will go to prepare.
We left the cottage and we went up outside, followed by Ms. Jessica, Mrs. Althea as well as Nurse Anastasia, Sir Molina and Sir Pablito until we reach the woods where there is open space, we saw lushes and the wind is fresh, we thought we could rest for a long time but as we watched closely around, we all struggled to notice the numerous ropes tying behind the two trees. We all looked up and it seemed like we were predicting the next task we would take.
Ms. Jessica approached us and she is very sexy in her sport halter top and short. I looked around and noticed Raim with his malicious eyes again while looking good on Ms. Jessica's chest and he gave a devilish grin on one side as if he had a wild idea, for all the woman on campus, Raim was attracted to Ms. Jessica, our subject, take note that Raim might obsess to her because even at home I saw different pictures of Ms. Jessica glued to the wall of Raim’s bedroom. I wonder why if he court other girls because he didn’t showed up any girlfriend to us since our vacation trip to Palawan began, so maybe he was just focusing on fantasizing Ms. Jessica’s body. I was sure what was in his malicious mind so I patted him on the shoulder and suddenly he was surprised by my presence.
"Oh, you surprised me dude, have you been here early?" he asked.
"No, just yesterday." I joked with him.
"Stop staring at Maám Jessica’s chest and when she catches you looking at her chest I'm sure she'll scold you." I scolded Raim.
He whispered to me but I could not understand what he was saying until Ms. Jessica came in our direction. I tapped Raim and we stood properly so that our teacher would not notice that she was the one we were talking about, Raim and I just focused our attention on to her as she circled the rest of our classmates.
Ms. Jessica stopped in the center and then she spoke.
"Good morning to all of you, so before we start I would like to request you, I would like you to put on the table all the personal belongings you brought including cellphones and anything that will interfere with our task today," she said, her hands on the table and we didn’t hesitate to put there the cellphones and other gadgets we were holding. After we put everything on, she gave us helmet to wear on our heads, we followed her even though we were confused and unsure of what we were doing, the nervousness started to rumble in my chest again. I don't know why our teachers are always making us thrilled and suspense us from performing team building tasks, they always keep a secret of all the things we want to know right away, but that's also a good strategy because we won't be bored right away and will be even more interested and excited but I guess I will start having a heart attack.
I tried to divert my mind and focus my attention on whatever was going to happen now, I shouldn’t be preoccupied with what should happen. After a while Ms. Jessica spoke.
"Thank you for everyone's cooperation and I hope you will listen carefully to every instruction I give you regarding our next activity today." She pointed to the ropes attached to the trees, the position of the ropes relatively low enough that we seemed to be able to bridge one by one there.
"Our task this morning is low ropes obstacle course." Her eyes suddenly flashed and I saw intelligence in her eyes.
Apart from the computer subject, Ms. Jessica also teaches Physical education. so that’s explained how she keeps her body healthy and promote beautiful curves.
She started to discuss with us the origin of the low ropes obstacle course in precise and clear explanation as we all circled around her and no one tried to make noise or attempt to distract her speech.
" A low ropes course is a ground-based obstacle course designed to encourage team building and personal development. It is different from a high-ropes course in that a high ropes course is constructed in trees and requires a safety harness."
She walks around and she looks us in the eyes one by one to make sure we are all focused attention on her.
" Rope courses have been used in military training since the days of the ancient Greeks. Back then, these courses were used for training extremely fit individuals. Since the 1980s, these courses have evolved considerably. Modern courses incorporate sophisticated safety and belay systems using wire rope, frictional devices, and climbing harnesses to manage risks. Low ropes courses consist of a series of obstacles designed to challenge teams and individuals to work together."
She resumed her speech and I really couldn’t help but blink as she glanced around at me and my other colleagues.
" These activities are designed to break down barriers and reduce self-consciousness. They are often based on a sequence of events, instead of a defined task. Ice-breaker activities are a good way teams can know each other better. Participants are placed in positions where they are challenged to break out of their comfort zone and try new things."
"By the way, that's why I made you wear a helmet because I want you to be ready for safety and protection and I don't want any accidents or injuries to happen to you from our team building. We are avoiding having any chaos or accidents like what happened to Mr. Charles B. Villanueva." And she even emphasized the mention of Charles ’full name.
"Is everything clear?" she asked full of authority.
We really looked like we were in Military training.
"Yes, ma'am," we answered at once.
