We couldn't talk much when we got back to our cottage because we were so tired and drowsy, we just washed the dirt off our bodies then we changed clothes, we didn't realize what time we slept.
The next day, at six o'clock, we were disturbed again by a strange siren outside our room, we immediately woke up even though our eyes were still a bit swollen with drowsiness, we were no longer able to put away our belongings and we quickly left our room. When we arrived at the session hall, we were already preparing breakfast there, as if we were weakened by the wake-up call we thought that if any emergency happened, we were just given the announcement that our breakfast was approaching. We went back to our room and manage our belongings, we washed and brushed our teeth then we re-entered the session hall.
We woke up to the delicious smell of coffee, chocolate drink and the delicious aroma of fried rice. As we approached the long serving table there were three types of food served: Arroz Caldo (Thick Rice Porridge), Champorado (Chocolate Rice Porridge) and Tapsilog (Beef Tapa, Egg, And Garlic Fried Rice). I chose Tapsilog and we sat together at a long table of my friends with Lara, Andrea and Cecile, I glanced in Vanessa's direction and she seated next to Danita Joy and Mischa, Lara explained to me that Danita Joy apologizes for what she did to Vanessa as well as Lara, she was only carried away by her annoyance and emotions but she didn't mean to hurt Vanessa. While Ford and Fritz Lawrence also apologized to Andrea, I was happy for them because any dispute that occurred yesterday in our first task was over. Richard is the only one who will never lower his pride just to apologize to us, he thinks we are enemies and he will never be friends with us.
We signaled to the other group and congratulated them on winning, they also congratulated us.
Moments later Nurse Anastasia approached us and told us of Charles' condition.
"Good morning, I have good news for you that will surely make you happy, Charles has had a fast recovery and it looks like he will soon be able to return to team building," said nurse Anastasia happily, which made us shout with joy.
Suddenly, our classmates looked at us, perhaps they were shocked by the loud noise we created.
"SHHH! Don't be too loud and you might disturb other students and teachers while they were eating," Nurse Anastasia scolded us in a whisper.
"Ehem, it is great that Charles recovered well and quickly," Andrea said and it became a way for Lara and our friends to tease her.
I glanced at her and I suspected that she used magic to heal Charles, I secretly smiled because I feel that Andrea also has special feelings for Charles, maybe she didn’t show her true feelings for him because she is playing hard to get with the boys.
"Charles just needs to be able to rest all day so that tomorrow he can go back to team building, oh I’d better be off, I’ll go ahead." Nurse Anastasia said goodbye to us and we immediately thanked her before she went to the teachers and shared a seat while eating breakfast.
We went back to eating, I looked closely at Lara and I noticed that she wanted to eat Arroz caldo and when I observed what she was eating I saw it resembles the classic risotto recipes since it makes use of glutinous rice and chicken, but what makes it different is that the locals use the safflower plant or kasubha to give it a yellowish color. It consists of fried tokwa (tofu) in vinegar mixture. He finished a bowl and I immediately handed her a glass of water.
Next to Lara, Cecile and Andrea are eating Champorado, Champorado looks delicious because it consists of glutinous rice, tablea chocolate (or any dark chocolate powder), evaporated milk, and sugar added with some crispy and salty danggit (rabbitfish). or dried (dried salted fish).
I am happy that Lara and Andrea have already enjoyed the foods of mortals. They seem to know how to adjust and get along with other people.
"Charles, stop staring at Lara because your saliva has been dripping for a while, hahaha." Raim scolded me.
I cupped my mouth and I didn't feel any pampering.
"You're fooling me, there's no saliva in my mouth."
And suddenly Endrix and Raim laughed out loud, it looks like they are making fun at me.
"Don't stare at Lara and she might suddenly melt, hahaha" Jake said and because of that we all laughed, especially Lara's cheeks blushed as she glanced at me.
After we ate Mrs. Althea talked to us.
"When you get back to the cottage, take a bath and get ready because at exactly 8:00 we will go outside and we will go to the next task which is obstacle course. Is that clear?" she asked us sternly.
And we politely agreed with her, so we hurried back to our cottage and dressed up in our clothes to wear.
As I was choosing clothes in the closet I suddenly thought. It looks like we are on military training, we are late to rest but we are woken up early and prepared for team building. Maybe the teachers are disciplining us for our good time management and also to prepare our physical and mental wellbeing for the challenges we will face in team building.
We started taking a shower and then we changed clothes, I noticed Vincent to my left silently praying and meditating before he stood up and walked out the door. I feel tension and nervousness in my other classmates and I think I am not the only one who experiences shock and rapid heartbeat because of the various miserable surprises that our teachers have prepared for even more and it make sense, our team building interesting and we really strive to surpass our doubt, fear and limitation.
