Title: My wedding day.
~Rowan's POV~
I was getting married today. Something i've never dreamt of having even in the next few years to come. I've always wished myself a happy wedding until that witch took my happiness away. I scrunch my face in disgust when I taught of her. " Thinking of her right?" My best man asked. "Everything reminds me of her"
"Do you still love her?" I looked at him and scoffed. "I hate her more than anything in this world" I grit my teeth in anger. "Calm down man. She's gone and ain't coming back." He taps my shoulder and walked towards the door. Just when he opens the door, he said "Let's go get married, bro."
I watched my uncle, moses at the door waiting for my annoying bride. I wished I'd turn back and walk away from this everlasting burden mom was going to put me through. But if I ever'd, I'll consider myself dead before my mama gets to meet me at home. I knew I had to be patient because i was gon'na get her pregnant and dump her off at my mama's house.
The parish's hymn interrupts my thought and i focused on my uncle, Moses stepping through the aisle with the bride.
I trailer off again in a quick flashback at how happy I was last two years, waiting patiently for my Anna to come, but disappointly, it was another lady that came in her place.
I stared at how happy mom was, Zack and Zoe and my two siblings smiling at the bride as she walked towards me.
I thanked uncle moses and we moved to stand in front of father Hagan.
~Aubrey's POV~
I was uncomfortable looking at this handsome devil's face. His expressionless face tells me he was just as uncomfortable as i am. I only the other hand couldn't dictate what my life was go'nna be after this wedding. Will i work like before?, could he had planned to keep me as a house wife. When Father Hagan asked him to take off my veil, i braced up with a fake smile.
He takes off my veil and a round of applause was heard round the church. I was smiling until I caught Rowan with evil sneer parting his lips. This man, was an especially obnoxious and detestable specimen of a man.
"Rowan Adam and Aubrey Cox, have you come here to enter into Marriage without coercion, freely and wholeheartedly?"
"I have." I said and waited for Rowan to reply him. He looks at me, "I have."
"Are you prepared, as you follow the path of Marriage, to love and honor each other for as long as you both shall live?" I scoffed, honor?.
"Yes , I do"
"I do."
"Are you prepared to accept children lovingly from God and to bring them up according to the law of Christ and his Church?"
I was quiet but Rowan quickly answered him. "Yes, we do"
"No, everyone's entitled to answer these questions ." The priest told him. Rowan urges me to answer and I rolled my eyes.
"I do"
Priest: "Rowan Adam, do you take Aubrey Cox to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?"
Rowan:" I do."
Priest: "Aubrey Cox, do you take Rowan Adam to be your husband? Do you promise to be faithful to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love him and to honor him all the days of your life?"
Aubrey: "I do."
"What God joins together, let no one put asunder."
"Father in heaven, your children has come before you, Lord we asked that you seal the marriage with peace, joy and fertility, in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, Amen."
"Please take up the ring." He said to Rowan.
"I (placing the wedding ring on my ring finger): Aubrey Cox, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Oh Jesus. The ring. It was very small and it couldn't fit in well into my fingers. But Rowan keeps pushing the tool to the base of the finger. He lifted up his face and smirked. That was a plan, a plan of getting back at me.
"I (placing the wedding ring on her husband's ring finger): Rowan Adam, receive this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
"I pronounce you, husband and wife.." A prolonged enthusiastic applause was heard round the hall.
"You may kiss the bride." A drop dead silence developed among the congregation as everyone waited for Rowan to kiss me. I on other hand was nervous as i didn't know how to react on my first kiss.
He looked behind at his mom and Mrs Adam gave him a nod. He came closer that our lips were almost touching, then he kissed me.
We were inside the car as the driver drove out of the church premises. I could not get my mind off my first kiss with Rowan Adam. His lips was soft and tasted of strawberries, at a point i wished he hadn't stopped kissing me. Eish!. Get the hell out of my head.
My eyes landed on my fourth finger which was getting swollen and my expression chsnged.
"You, devil.." I points at him and trying an attempt to pull off the ring.
"My ...wife"
He mocks me and his laughter filled the car.
After the reception, i was extremely tired and hungry. I heaved a sign of relieve when our chauffeur dropped us off at the garage. I splint out of the car and ran into the mansion.
When i got to the room, I sat down on the bed and tried pulling off the ring but all attempt proved useless. I gave up and was about pulling down my dress when he walked in.
He moved over to the wardrobe, took his towel and disappeared into his bathroom. Aahh!!. This was how i was gonna live with him?, afraid someone would walk in on me and find me naked?, I laid on the bed.
I spent time bathing and finally i walked out clean. I found her sleeping on my bed and scoffed.
I wore my Pajamas, I went over to her sleeping form and carried her out of the bed, laid her on the floor careful not to wake her up.
