Title: Missing.
I reached home and sat down tiredly. I had been feeling dizzy lately. My gosh!!. I think I'm gonna fall sick.
"Where have you been?" I looked up and saw Rowan staring down at me. I ignored him.
"Where have you been?"
"Why do you want to know?, huh."
"I demand an answer now!!"
"You can't force me to say what i don't want to say." I got up and pushed him away.
"Aubrey, come back here" He yelled out my name. "Aubrey"
I woke up the next morning and felt a strong urge to puke. I sprint into the bathroom and released everything in my system inside the toilet. Eish!. I'm sick.
I came out and found Rowan looking strangely at me. I ignored him and went to dress for school.
After 30minutes, i was dressed for school. I went downstairs only to find Rowan looking strangely at me again. He called Miriam, she came running into the sitting room. "Where's Tyler?, why isn't he dressed for school?"
Miriam look at me and i bent down. How do i explain this to Rowan?, that i went out with Tyler yesterday and came back without him. I was having a huge feeling about that something was wrong around the house, we were not safe either, I didn't trust anyone to spill any words.
"Mrs Aubrey went out with him yesterday" Rowan turned his gaze to look at me.
"Where's my son?"
"I left him with my mother" I lied and tried to walk past him so Rowan grabbed me and shoved me back immediately. I ran upstairs immediately.
"Come back"
He raged and went after me.
I flushed the toilet and came out. "What's wrong with you?" He finally asked. " I don't know"
"What do you mean you don't know?. You've been vomiting since morning. "
"What business has that gotten to do with you?"
"Okay, it's none of my fucking business. Where's my son?"
"I've told you where he is"
"Aubrey, don't taste my patience. I can't believe you're this selfish. You dump Tyler with your mom because you couldn't give birth to your own child?"
He grabbed my arm. "Rowan, let me go"
"How dare you do that to Tyler?"
"I give you today to bring him back or else"
"What?. What will you do?. All you think of is your son. All the time, it's your son. Sorry to shatter your dreams. Tyler is not with my mother. I have kept him in a place very far away from you. You won't see Tyler, again." I shouted and walked out. Just as i was coming down the staircase, i felt dizzy, and then mixed a step and fell. The next, i found myself rolling down the stairs, and i blacked out.
I opened my eyes to see myself in my room with Rowan beside me. He looked at me disgustingly.
"You're pregnant"
"Wait!. What?"
"You heard me" There was silence. I was dazed.
"Who's the father?" He asked.
"Rowan, i don't understand"
"You don't understand. Aubrey you're pregnant for another man. Who's the father?"
"I am not pregnant. I am a virgin"
He burst out laughing. "Hilarious"
"Pregnant virgin" He mocked. "What prank are you playing right now?"
"What prank am i playing on you?. That question should be directed to you. What prank did you play on me?"
"Rowan. I'm not pregnant. I've never slept with any man."
"Shut up!!. You disgust me. You're so shameless. You wench. After all we did, after the love we shared together, this is what you repaid me with. Lies, deceit. What the fuck have i not done to make it work?. Gosh, i can't believe i allowed myself get played again" He groaned and stormed off.
I was surprised. How am i suddenly pregnant?.
I stood up and started packing my clothes into a bag. "My life has changed just in few months." I blink back tears and stormed off with my bag.
~Nelson's pov~
"She's the smartest woman I've ever seen."
"Is that why you did not catch her with the boy?"
"I'm sorry"
"Get out!!"
He bowed and left. I paced around the room in anger. She played me. I smirked.
~Anna's pov~
"How're you doing?" I asked.
"Getting better. How's Aubrey?" I asked. His expression changed immediately.
"What happened?. Why's your face like this?"
"I want to ask you a question." I sit up.
"Okay, shoot"
"When we dated, what is it that you saw in me that you never loved?. Why did you leave me at the alter?. Why did you not stay and marry me?. We've been together for 15years and i thought it would work, what is it that made you dump me at the alter?"
"Rowan, sshhhh"
"It's okay"
"What is okay?"
"Everything is fine. You were not bad. I'm the bad person here"
"No. Don't make me feel better. I want to know why the relationship we had never worked. I want to know, please tell me"
"You were fine. I wasn't..i cheated on you while we dated and you were faithful. I cheated"
"What?"
"It's the fucking truth. I cheated." There was silence.
"So, it was never me right?"
"Rowan, why are you asking these questions?"
"Just like you cheated, so this one cheated. " He ruffled his hair.
"I just found out that she has been deceiving me all this while. She's pregnant with another man's child"
"Aubrey.." I breathed out. "Aubrey is not pregnant"
"The doctor said she is"
"And I'm telling you she isn't because i know"
"What do you mean?"
"Aubrey is not pregnant. Rowan, sit and I'll tell you everything you want to know"
He hesitantly sat down. "I'm all ears."
"I met this guy, Nelson. I fell for him. I cheated.. with him"
"Then few weeks to our wedding, i found out that i was pregnant for him. I wanted to tell you, everything. I wanted to let you know that i couldn't continue the relationship and then, Nelson convinced me not to. He made me believe that he would take care of me and the baby. I believed him because i loved him. " I blinked back tears
"We had a plan. A plan to steal from you. I had my hands on one of the accounts, on the day of the wedding, i ran. I left with Nelson."
I wipe my tears off. "After i left. Nelson hit me. He beats me up and raped me. I was of no use to him, i was deceived."
"What have i done to you?. What have i done to you to deserve this?" He asked me.
"You did nothing. That question should be directed to Nelson. All he ever did was to hurt you. He wanted to kill you. He wants to destroy you. He used me the first time, now Aubrey"
"Everyone around you is a spy. You never noticed, right?. Your gateman, your driver, your doctor, even the house has cameras. And Miriam, she is a spy."
"What?"
"Yes. Nelson had everyone of us obey him because he has our weaknesses. To me, it was Tyler, to Miriam, it was his brother. Nelson made Miriam give this pills to Aubrey everyday. This pills was going to change her system and make her think she's pregnant. He wants you to create problems between you two and i think he succeeded once again"
~Rowan's pov~
"Miriam"
I shouted.
"Miriam"
"Sire" She came out with a towel. "Is this true?"
"What's true?"
"Don't pretend like you don't know" I fumed and started coming towards her.
"Please sir, don't hurt me. It's Nelson. Nelson made me do it" I stopped in my track. It is true, she was saying the truth.
"How could you do this to Aubrey?. She trusted you, she gave you everything, she loved you like her own and you hurt her."
"I'm sorry" She knelt down. "I'm sorry. He had my brother. He's the only family i had"
"Listen, by the time i come out again, i do not want to see you. Leave my house"
"Please sir, don't push me out. Please, this is the only job i have, please" I started walking up the stairs and turned back.
"Unless you don't want to pay for your crimes in a police cell"
I walk into the room and didn't find Aubrey.
"Aubrey"
"Aubrey. Please I'm sorry, can you come out please?"
I sat on the bed and waited.
She didn't come out, i pushed the bathroom door open and looked, "where's Aubrey?"
I came out and went into the closet. Aubrey was no where to be found and some of clothes were missing.
