By the time Richard got to the command, Leo already killed the only witness Rick who Dawn met that night.
The mistake Richmond did was putting Leo and the witness locked up in the same place.
Richard went back to the hospital and asked Flow to go home. He followed Arci out when he saw her walked out to wash the dishes.
"Why are you here?" Arci asked.
"The only witness Rick is dead" Richard said with a serious expression.
Arci walked closer to him.
"What does that mean?" She asked.
"Someone wanted to kill him to make him the scapegoat. Richmond and others were so careless that they locked him up with the suspect and then the suspect killed him"
"The suspect? So you know who did it?" Arci asked.
"Yes, you were right. He is a Pawnshop owner. It is Leo the shop you went to repair your brother's jade pendant"
"Leo? Why did he kidnap me? I don't have any animosity with him"
Richard took a deep breath and reply, "Do you know how you got drunk the other day when you had drink a with Philip?"
"That day, i had a cup of wine and then i felt dizzy"
"Yes because he drugged you"
"He drugged me?"
Richard nodded, "Do you know how you left there that day?"
"Didn't you pick me up that day?"
"Yes but I picked you up from Philip's private room"
Arci expression turned pale.
"Don't worry fortunately i was there on time and Philip were too drunk to do anything back then"
Arci started thinking about everything that has happening.
She remembered how the bill Richard paid got to Dawn's hand, how she was acting suspicious on the day she was kidnapped and how they didn't come to visit Bremo even though he is her son-in-law.
"I see" Arci said when she connected all the events together if she still doesn't understand what is going on, she is not her mother's daughter.
"What are you thinking?"
"It is Dawn Arts she did it all. But why would Leo help her do something so dangerous?" Arci asked.
Richard smiled because he already thought of the same conclusion.
"Do you know what Leo used to be?"
She shook her head.
"Ten years ago he was the adjutant to Military Governor Albert when your brother died back then he was also at the wharf"
"I've got an idea"
"I know what you are thinking, i also think so"
"I thought that Dawn had just forced my mother to leave but i have never thought she had something to do with my brother's death. If she is the one who did this aren't i living under the same roof with the murderer who killed my brother? She forced my mother to leave and tried to hurt me over and over again. What have i done to her? " She clenched her fist tightly, her eyes were already wet with tears.
Richard didn't speak and just let her vent her sadness.
"I thought that i would stay far away from her after getting my mother's dowry back"
Richard put his hand on her shoulder.
"This is not your fault. The vicuousness of someone sometimes is far beyond our imagination"
"If my brother really dies in her hand, then she not only owes me not only my family but also my brother's life she took a away all the precious things in my life and i will make her pay" Arci said.
Richard embraced her, his heart ache seeing her like this.
He whispered in her ears, "Don't worry none of them can get away with it"
Arci didn't say anything and just stay in his embrace quietly.
Richard released her.
"Go back so Bremo won't be suspicious"
"Okay" she nodded and walked back to the room mindlessly.
"Arci?" Bremo called her.
But she did not hear
"Arci" he said again when he saw that he was in a daze.
She snapped out of her daze and glanced at him.
"Come here" Bremo said.
She walked towards him and sat down on his bed side.
"I want to tell you something"
"Thank you for taking care of me these days" Bremo said.
"You almost lost lives because of you saved me, so you are welcome" Arci smiled at him.
"You don't know how sacred i was back then when i saw the car sinking into the water i had never been so sacred before, my hands and feet were numb when i jumped into the water and i couldn't imagine what i would be like if anything bad had happened to you"
"We are blessed so nothing bad would happen to us" Arci said with a forced smile.
"Arci, i was sacred not because i didn't want to lose a sister but because i didn't want to lose the other half of my life. Brothers can't protect their sisters forever but i want to protect you forever" Bremo said and held her hand in his.
She removed her hand from his.
"Bremo, i know you are kind to me and i am grateful but a life time is too long and i can't think about it now"
"You can't or you just don't want to?" Bremo asked, she fell silent
He feel like his heart was suffocating, he couldn't breathe. He thought she felt the same way as him but it seems it is all his wishful thinking.
"I'm sorry i shouldn't have said that just forget what i just said"
And they fell into awkward silent
He lied on the bed and closed his eyes trying to force the tears that was about to fall back.
Richard opened the hospital door, Bremo didn't open his eyes non move.
He signaled Arci to come out.
Arci went out to meet him.
"He is sleeping but you are still staring at him, why are you so obsessed with him?" Richard said with a jealous tone.
"Are you jealous?" Arci smirked.
"Not at all! Am i just afraid you will delay the business for him"
"What are you doing here if you still know we need to get down to business?"
"It is time for you to settle accounts with Dawn"
"I know what to do"
She replied and walked into the room
