I woke up feeling light headed. I opened my eyes and saw lights glaring at me.
Why is it so bright? It's hurting my eyes.
Am I dead? No. No. I can't be dead.
I looked around to see where I was.
My hands.
My right hand has a transparent wire injected into it and it is connected to a bag of water beside my bed hanging upside down.
What?
Then it suddenly occurred to me. I'm in the hospital! I am in a freaking hospital! And I don't have any money to pay for this!
I continued to look around as I heard voices. I looked to my left and saw a man standing at the end of my bed talking to someone on his phone. Maybe he's in his 30's or something.
I tried to look around further but I felt my neck strain. I touched it and found out I was wearing neck braces. I looked down to my feet. My right foot was in cast. Just what in the world happened to me?
I closed my eyes in distress. I am about to cry. I want my dad. I want my mom.
Then the door shot open and I saw a man come in. He was wearing a black hoodie and he came slowly to look at me. Am I being kidnapped?
"Who are you?" I asked. I heard my voice cracked. My throat is so dry. I want water.
Before he could answer my question, he suddenly went on his knees in a kneeling position and bowed to me. I am shocked. What's he doing?
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." I tried to get up slowly, but every part of my body hurts.
"Help me. I can't get up." I called to him and he immediately stood up and inclined my bed. Now I'm sitting down.
"Water." I said and he immediately took the water bottle from the table, opened it and gave it to me. I drank it. I almost finished half of it.
He just stood there watching me. My mind is still wondering as to who he is and why he's saying sorry to me. I can't see his face clearly because of his hoodie. He seems familiar. Then my mind went back to that moment before I passed out. He's that man. That's him!
"You did this to me." I blurted out and I could see him hung his head and he held his hands together like a kid being scolded.
"I'm really sorry. I never meant to do that."
I couldn't process anything at the moment.
Just a few days ago, my life was going on perfectly. I have a good job, a university life, and friends. But now, what is this? Why is this happening to me?
"Why did you drive so recklessly?" I asked him. He grew quiet as I waited for him to answer. Guess he'll never answer me. I turned my head to the side and stayed silent.
"I promise that I never really meant to do that. I tried my best to stop the collision. I've never had bad intentions towards anyone." I looked at him and I could hear the sincerity in his voice. I eyed him.
"Can you take off your hood? It's disrespectful to apologize while wearing a hoodie." I told him and he apologized again.
He slowly took off his hoodie. My eyes widened as I stared in shock. This guy. It's him. It's him. My heart was racing faster. Then the door suddenly opened and I heard a familiar voice calling out to me.
"Eunice?" I looked to see who it was.
"Miss Davis"
"Oh no. Eunice, are you okay? Where does it hurt? You made me worried!"
Then behind her I saw Jeanny crying and beside her was Jace, who usually has a poker face but is now looking worried. I hugged Jeanny and Miss Davis as I smiled. Now I dont feel alone or distressed anymore. I have them.
"Anna?" I looked up from where the voice came, and so did Miss Davis.
"Oh! Jonathan! What are you doing here?" Miss Davis answered.
I looked at them in surprise. Confusion is written all over my face.
I looked at Jace and saw how surprised he was as well. Jeanny is just gawking at the three of them, trying to understand the situation.
"Do you guys know each other?" I asked. But at the back of my mind, I scolded myself because the answer was obvious. Anna and Jace knows Jonathan because he's a celebrity! But... why does it seem like Jonathan knows them too? and he called Anna by name.
My questions were answered when Jace spoke.
"Hey, cous." He said casually.
Cous? in short for cousin? did he just call him cous?
I am completely in shock. I can feel my head breaking.
