Chapter 14

“Jeanny, Jace is downstairs already. Do I look alright?” I asked Jeanny as I stood before her. She eyed me from head to toe and nodded her head while looking like she’s thinking about something deeply.
“Yeah, you’re alright. Just a little bit on the old-fashioned side.” She said while smirking.
I glared at her. I’m wearing a black floral dress that falls below my knees and a white long sleeve turtle turtleneck top underneath.
“What shoes are you gonna wear?” She asked.
“Slip-ons.” I answered. She rolled her eyes as if she’s so tired of the outfits I’m wearing.
“Is it really bad?” I asked.
“Not bad but not good.” She answered. I rolled my eyes at her and took a pillow from my bed and threw it at her. Jeanny laughed.
“It’s good. It’s just not something I’d wear at a concert.”
“I would wear something better if my leg didn't have a cast on it.” I retorted. I looked at myself in the mirror. My wounds are healing, but some left scars. I don’t look as pale as I was before. Besides, Jeanny put on some light make-up on me so I wouldn’t look lifeless.
“Fine. You still look pretty. Jonathan will fall head over heels for you.” She teased.
“Shut up. Chase and I aren’t like that.” I defended.
“And you call him Chase.”
“And you like Jace.” I teased back. Jeanny’s mouth flew open.
“I don’t like Jace!”
“I’ll make sure to tell him that.” I smirked at her.
“Just go! And enjoy the concert. Scream for me.” Jeanny said as she lightly pushed me out of the dorm room.
I took the elevator to the lobby of the dorm and saw Jace sitting in the waiting area. He looked at me and waved. I walked towards him.
“Sorry to keep you waiting.” I said.
“It’s alright. Let’s go?”
“Let’s go.”
He led me to Miss Davis’ car which she allowed us to borrow for this day.
The concert stadium is just fifteen minutes away from the dorm. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. This is my first time watching a concert and it’s The Wildes.
Before we left the hospital two days ago, Chase gave me a VIP ticket for the concert. I asked where he got it because as far as I know, tickets are not given freely to employees to be fair to the fans. He said he bought it for the final concert because he didn’t have any plans to perform, but I guess he changed his mind.
When we arrived at the concert venue, Jace wore an ID.
“What’s this?” I took his ID and read it. BlueStone Entertainment Staff? I looked at Jace who had an amused look at his face. “Is this legal? Or are you doing something illegal?”
Jace laughed. “This is legal, Miss Suarez.” He took the ID from me and knocked my head.
My mouth flew open. “W-what? You’re a staff at BlueStone?” I asked in disbelief. Jace just nodded at me, still holding his smile. “How?”
“I’ll explain later. Let’s just go for now.” He said and went out of the car. He helped me out and we got in line. When we arrived at the gate, I showed my VIP ticket and Jace showed his ID. We were both led to the VIP section located on the second floor. It’s a room with glass panels so we can see the stage.
“The concert is starting in ten minutes. I can’t be here all the time because I have to work.” Jace said after helping me settle down. There’s food and drinks at the table as well.
“You really work here? I mean, you’re a staff at your cousin’s entertainment agency?” I asked, still in disbelief.
“Yes, Eunice. Part time. I’m into production so I applied to be a part of the production team.” He explained.
I looked at him suspiciously. “Didn’t you use your family card?”
He knocked my head lightly again. “Hey! That’s the second time you hit me!”
He scoffed. “I passed fair and square, Eunice. You’re doubting my abilities, I’m kind of hurt, you know.” Jace pouted while he placed his hand over his chest asking like he’s been shot. I smirked at him.
“Whatever. Get to work, then. I’ll be fine here.” I said.
“Alright. Text me if you need anything.” He said and left.
I looked around and sighed. This would’ve been more fun if Jeanny was here. Unfortunately there’s only one ticket.
I took a picture of the venue and a selfie. I was trying to send it to Jeanny when a text message from Chase popped up on the screen. I accidentally clicked it and the selfie was sent to him.
Oh no! My eyes grew wide in shock. This is horrible. Why am I so careless? What do I do now? I panicked on my seat as I waited for his reply. What was he gonna say? That I’m feeling close to him? That I’m assuming that we’re closed enough to be sending pictures to each other. This is so embarrassing. Why isn’t there an undo, unsend, or delete message here?
My phone beeped and I almost jumped out of my seat. It’s a message from Chase. I slowly opened it.
Chase: Didn’t know you were the type of person who sends pictures.
I heaved a sigh. That wasn’t meant for you! I typed a reply.
Me: That was for Jeanny, not for you.
I bit my thumbnail nervously as I waited for another reply from him. My phone beeped again and immediately opened it.
Jeanny: The venue is huge! I wish I could be there. Have fun Eunice and unleash your inner fangirl!
I rolled my eyes at her text and replied that I have nothing to unleash but my stress.
Chase finally replied.
Chase: Noted, Miss Ciara. Thanks for answering the question. See you on stage! I mean, see me on stage.
Question? I backread and saw that he asked me if I already arrived at the venue but I replied to him with the picture I accidentally sent.
I saw the lights dimming at the concert hall and realized that the show is about to start.
