Chapter 103: The Werewolves

And so, the hellish training started. Alicia made me ran around the forest everyday. She would beat me up everytime I stop. She used healing potions to heal my injuries and continued the training.
I was covered in sweat. I've never been treated this way before. I was treated like a princess, not a warrior. I've grown hatred toward her. I wanted to kill her soon, but I also realized that she wasn't doing this for herself, but for me. My enemies were strong, so I had to become strong too in order to survive.
Alicia taught me swordsmanship using a stick. After a week, I've finally landed a hit on her. I became swift. My endurance also increased. The hellish training wasn't for nothing. I'd surely defeat that boy the next time we meet.
"Are you ready?" Alicia asked.
"Yeah, I am," I replied.
"Alright then, let's go to your next enemies. I've already located them," she said.
"Enemies? How many are they?"
"Five."
"That's too many. Are you planning to kill me?"
"Remember your training, Kaila. I trained you because I knew your enemies are getting strong and are forming alliances," she said.
"How about we build an alliance too?"
"With whom?" she asked.
"With that boy, he's strong in some mysterious way. We can make use of his strength," I said.
"Have you lost your mind already? He's your enemy. He already harmed you, so that's not possible."
"I know you'd say that. We're destined to fight, to kill each other; only one of us will win."
"Just have some confidence. He might be strong, but with a plan, I'm sure you can beat him."
"I hope so. Let's just go already," I said.
Alicia used dark magic and brought us a small village located nearby the mountain. "Let's get you something to eat first. You'll need a lot of energy to beat them."
I followed Alicia toward a small diner. We got inside. There were some people there, eating and drinking. We sat at the table, and a woman approached us.
"What do you want to eat?" The woman asked. She was wearing a plain white t-shirt and jeans. She had long, curly, black hair and black eyes.
"Um, do you have a burger?" I replied.
"I'm sorry, what's that?" She stepped closer as if she didn't hear what I said.
"No, nothing," I replied. "What's available here?"
"We have meat," she said.
"And...?" I asked. "Only meat?"
"We're not in a restaurant, Kaila," Alicia interrupted. "Just take anything they can offer."
"Fine! I'll have one," I said.
"Got it, please wait for your meat." The woman went back to the kitchen.
I looked around. This place is strange. People here didn't even know what a burger is. A few moments later, the woman came back with a plate. She put it on the table.
"Enjoy," she said.
I looked at the plate and was shocked to see what was on it: a hand, freshly cut, with blood used as ketchup. What the fuck is this? Is this their specialty?
"Ali—" I was about to complain.
"Shhh... Don't make a sound," Alicia said.
"Why?" I asked in a whisper.
"People here aren't humans. They are staring at you. You have to eat that."
"No way! I can't eat this," I said. "Just by looking at it, it made me puke already."
"Something wrong?" The woman asked, walking toward me. "Is my cooking not good?"
I stood up and picked up the plate. "Not really. Can I have something else?" I threw it at her face. Everyone was shocked by what I did. I immediately ran outside. They chased after me. I continued running until I lost them.
"What are they?" I asked, catching my breath.
"Werewolves," Alicia said. "We have entered the village of werewolves. You have to go back and kill your enemies. Just forget what happened."
"How could I forget?" I asked. "I've never seen people serve humans before. They are dangerous."
"I know, but you have to finish your task. Kill five enemies; don't take your eyes off the goal just because something happened. That's the reason why we're here."
Alicia was right. I came here for my task, not to cause trouble. I had to find the enemies and kill them, so I headed back to the village. Suddenly, a werewolf leaped toward me. I dodged and dodged and dodged its attacks. It has sharp claws and fangs.
Eventually, I found an opening. I didn't waste the chance. I kicked it, sending it toward the tree. That kick might be so strong because it died.
The other werewolves saw what happened. They lunged toward me all at once. I didn't want to kill them all, only the five who were destined to be my enemies, but because they were standing in my way, I ended them too.
"Well done, Kaila," Alicia said, clapping as she walked toward me. She examined the werewolves and put their souls inside a tiny bottle.
"Did I kill a lot of them?" I asked.
"You have to kill or be killed; that's it."
"Maybe you're right. I wouldn't do it if they didn't attack me first. I just had to defend myself."
"I think it's time for us to hunt the people who killed your parents. I've gathered information about that incident, and I've finally put all the pieces together," she said.
"That's interesting. I thought you'd already forgotten it. I didn't expect you to be some kind of detective now. Well then, let's go and take revenge," I replied.
"Before that, I want you to know that the enemies you're going to face aren't ordinary. They don't hesitate to kill, just like what they did to your parents. They are a group of gangsters, assassins, spies, and hitmen, all parts of the Mafia organization."
"What are you trying to say?" I asked.
"I want you to be careful. Don't let your emotions control your actions," she said.
"Okay, fine. I won't kill them because I want to take revenge; I'll kill them because I have to. Is that enough?"
