Chapter 125: The Skeleton Knight
Suddenly, a horde of hellhounds came into view. They looked like ordinary dogs, but with red eyes. They are called hellhounds as they are possessed by demons.
"I'd need your help here, Kaila," Lil said.
"Got it, sir." I stepped forward, facing the hellhounds. They ran toward me. I used my strength to get rid of them. My punches and kicks sent them back. I thought it was over, so I approached Lil.
"Behind you!" Lil exclaimed.
I looked back and saw a huge white hellhound with round black blotches. It jumped toward me. I did my best to dodge. I could have died if I didn't.
Lil immediately used fire magic to attack the huge hellhound. However, it didn't get much damage. It could stand still and growl. Lil had gotten its attention away from me. I didn't know if he meant to do that. He saved me again from certain death. I owed him a lot already. I didn't know how to pay him anymore.
The huge hellhound attacked Lil. It opened its big mouth, and a massive fireball was formed. "No!" I screamed. But the hellhound released its fireball at Lil.
I thought Lil had no chance against that fireball, but I was surprised. He surprised me again by forming a similar-sized iceball to counter it. The huge fireball got quenched by the iceball, and the hellhound growled in anger. Perhaps it realized that it couldn't do anything against Lil, so it attacked him with its claws.
Lil used teleportation to run away from it. I didn't know what he was doing. He grabbed me, and the two of us teleported. He eventually stops. The giant hellhound leaped toward us.
Lil used a barrier to protect us. "Don't touch it," he said. "It contains very high-voltage electricity."
The hellhound hit the barrier and stopped as if it was immobilized. It crashed down. The floor shook heavily for a while, like there was an earthquake.
"Is it dead?" I asked.
Lil deactivated the barrier and said, "It got electrified. Even a giant couldn't stand the electric power."
"That's amazing. I noticed that you've been using magic, teleportation, barriers, and a lot of strange things. Can you tell me how you became this powerful?"
"I got this cheat skill with me, Kaila. Do you really want to know it?" he asked.
"Yeah, why? Is it something you don't share with just anyone? Is it harmful?"
"Very harmful, especially if used in a bad way."
"That's interesting. Please tell me. I promise not to tell anyone," I said.
"Alright then. It's a power that makes everything I imagine become real," he replied.
I was shocked. I didn't know that there would be a skill like that. Lil wasn't someone I could play around with. He was completely on a different level. Even if I could defeat him, there's no chance I'd win against him. He could kill me in just a blink of an eye whenever he wanted.
"You alright?" he asked. "Can you still fight?"
"Um, yeah, I'm fine. Let's continue to the next room," I replied. Perhaps the reason why I felt safe around him was because he could kill any enemy.
We continued to the next room. This one was full of huge red ants. They were creeping all over the place.
"Let me handle this," Lil said. "Stay behind me."
I was surprised when Lil could also transform his arms into machine guns. He used them to shoot the enemies. The bullet cases were coming out from his elbows. Now, I'm starting to wonder if he was some kind of machine or a robot.
"Take this!" Lil shoots them at their head. The ants' blood was green and sticky. There were too many of them. "They aren't leaving me any other choice. Stay close, Kaila."
I stayed close to him. His machine guns had been upgraded. The bullets turned into fireballs. He shoots the ants with the fire bullets machine guns. Lil set the room on fire, burning all the huge ants inside.
"Let's get out of here." He held my hand and brought me to the other room. The walls closed behind us, and the ground shook. "What's happening?"
"It seems like the labyrinth is changing its appearance. We have to find the way to the center, kill the leader of the beasts, and get out of here, or we'll get trapped forever."
"Leave that to me. No matter how difficult this puzzle is, we can get out of here," Lil replied.
"I trust you, Lil," I said.
"Let's go!" Lil started running through the walls. I followed him closely. There were a lot of traps inside, and someone could kill us, but Lil knew where they were located, and he saved me again.
Soon, we got to the center of the labyrinth. It was a wide room. There was a skeleton knight inside. It was wearing silver armor and wielding a sword.
"Is that the leader?" I asked.
"Probably. It must be strong," Lil replied.
"Even if it's a skeleton?" I asked.
"Don't be fooled by appearances, Kaila," Lil said.
"Alright, so can you handle it?" I asked.
"I'll try my best; just stay here." Lil transformed his arms into swords and dashed to the skeleton.
The skeleton knight was surprisingly alert. Its movements were fast. It easily dodged Lil's attack and kicked him in return. Lil was sent flying back by its powerful kick.
"Lil! You okay?" I asked worriedly. "Seems like you're right. That skeleton is strong."
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me," he said. He used his sword arms as supports to stand up. "I'll try attacking it with magic."
Lil turned his arms back to normal. He opened his palms, pointed them to the skeleton, and fireballs came out from them. The fireballs hit the skeleton. However, it was unaffected. It stood still like a statue or a pyramid of Giza or the Great Wall of China without any damage.
"Shit!" Lil cursed. "It's not affected at all."
"We'll need a better plan, Lil," I said. "I'll try physical attacks. Can you cover me?"
"Okay, I got your back." He attacked the skeleton with magic, taking its attention.
I ran and found an opening behind it. I gave my full-strength kick. So strong that it sent the skeleton flying to the walls, creating a hole in them as it got buried. I thought it was already destroyed, but I was wrong. The skeleton knight could still move and remained undamaged.
The skeleton knight walked toward us. Both magic and physical attacks were useless against it. I ran out of ideas on how to take it down. It was so tough for a skeleton. It charged towards us, running at full speed. I couldn't even track its movements. It punched my face so hard that it almost broke my bones.Download Novelah App
