NORA
Mom, Dad, and Addy were at the airport to welcome me. I left my bag and ran to hug them. "I've missed you, baby" my mom cooed.
"I missed you too, mom"
Dad walked closer to me. "It seems someone doesn't miss me"
I chuckled and hugged him. "You know miss you dad"
"I know and I miss you too, darling"
Addy coughed. "Can't believe she forgot I existed"
I laughed and pulled her into a hug. "Hey, don't you ever say that again"
She chuckled. "I've missed, you"
"I've missed you too Addy"
"I've got a lot to talk about"
She pulled away from the hug and I rolled my eyes. "Do you ever get tired of talking?"
"Why should I?"
I groaned. "I..."
"Hi, Nora," someone said from behind. I turned to see Jasper. I batted my lashes. It was a surprise to me, to see him. What's he doing here? I furrowed my brows and he laughed. "Seems someone isn't happy to see me"
I rolled my eyes and faked a smile. "No, it's good to see you but it's a pleasant surprise though"
He nodded. "Just thought I should drop by to say a welcome to the world's most beautiful damsel and the future queen of Haiti"
I batted my lashes. What's he talking about? I considered it a compliment and decided to say a thank you. I smiled. "Thank you, Jas"
He smiled. "It wasn't a compliment. It's the reality". U furrowed my brows. What's he talking about? He must have noticed my confusion. He walked closer to me. "Meet me in my office when you get the time". I nodded and he moved back. "See you around Nora. Bye Addy, bye mom, bye dad"
I watched him leave and then sighed. I turned to face my parent. They were staring at me strangely. "You've got a lot to tell us, Nora" mom said after a while.
I nodded. Silence invaded and I hated the awkward moment. "I think we should get going. Nora looks so tired" Addy said breaking the sigh. I smiled at her and told her a thank you. Addy helped with my bag and we entered the car and headed home.

Getting home, mom bombarded me with so many questions like what was going on between Lucian and me, why he proposed to me, why I said yes, and so on. And as much as I tried to avoid her questions, all proved abortive. "Answer my questions Nora" mom yelled when I was reluctant to answer her
I rolled my eyes. "Mom, your questions are many and I don't know where to start from. By the way, I just got back. Don't you think I need some rest first?". I faked a yawn. Though I was tired, I wasn't so tired not to have the strength to talk. I just wasn't ready to tell me yet.
Mom glared at me and I chuckled nervously. I knew I had no option but to start talking. I groaned. I don't want to talk, not yet. I need to find something to keep mom from asking further questions. No idea was forthcoming. I hissed. Just when I thought I have run out of options, dad spoke up, saving my ass. "Darling, Nora is right. You should let her have some rest first. I'm sure she won't hide anything from us"
I breathed a sigh of relief and muttered a thank you to dad. Mom glared and Addy laughed. I rolled my eyes and stood up. "Mom, I will see you when I wake up"
I made to drag my bag but Addy dragged it instead. "Let me help you with that"
I groaned. If Addy follows me to my room, she won't let me have peace until I spill out every piece of information I have in me. She's the younger version of my mom. "No, thanks...."
"She's helping you with that" mom said
Addy chuckled. "Thanks, mom"
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever" I murmured before going upstairs.

"So the marriage with Lucian is real?" Addy asked. She was blushing real hard and I wondered if she was the one getting married to Lucy. I had told her about my wedding with Lucy but I did not tell her it was on a contract basis. I don't want her screaming the house down and in the process drawing mom's attention. "My friend is in love" she yelled.
I rolled my eyes. "You're yelling Addy"
She chuckled. "I can't believe you succeeded in winning Lucy's heart. You're such a rare gem"
I batted my lashes. What is she talking about? Win Lucy's heart. I scoffed. I never said we are getting married based on love. Or did I? I decided to ignore her. She can believe whatever she wants to believe. For as long as she doesn't know the truth about our marriage.
"Did you guys kiss? Is he a good kisser?"
I blinked. Gosh, what kind of a friend is this? "Addy, I'm not...". My phone rang and groaned. I checked the caller. It was Lucian. I wondered why he is calling me. I decided to ignore the call and then placed my phone on silent. I rolled my eyes. "I won't tell you if we kissed or not. That's my busy, not yours"
She chuckled. "I take that as a yes we kissed and he is a good kisser"
I widened my eyes. "I never said that"
"You don't need to. It's all over your face". I touched my face and groaned. What's she talking about? She pointed at my face. "You're blushing"
I hissed. "I'm not"
"I know you are". She placed her hands on her lap. "To my next question. Did you..." She winked and I furrowed my brows. What is she trying to talk about? She groaned. "Don't be a nerd ok. I mean. Did you spend the night together"
I rolled my eyes. "We spend some night together"
She screamed. "My friend is no more a virgin"
I batted my lashes. What's she talking about? I blinked. Wait. She's talking about having sex with Lucian. I groaned. This girl is a pervert. "It isn't what you're thinking, ok? We didn't do anything"
She furrowed her brows. "Nothing. Not even for a night?"
I rolled my eyes. "Nothing"
She scoffed. "You are such a joy killer"
I rolled my eyes. "Pervert" I murmured.
Addy chuckled. "Your phone's light is on"
I picked up the phone. It was a message from Lucian. I opened it. "Nora, can you please pick up my calls? My heart bleeds right now and I might bleed to death if you don't pick up"
I checked my missed calls and batted my lashes. I was having over twenty missed calls already from Lucian. I blinked. What's he calling me for? Addy peeped and then chuckled. "Someone is missing his heartthrob already". I rolled my eyes. "He's calling. You should pick up". I don't wish to pick up the call, not after what happened at the airport. "Nora, come on, pick up"
I sighed and placed the phone in my ear. "Hello?"
